Chapter Nine - The Breakout

A man dressed in uniform with a weapon strapped onto him...some kind of blaster. He walked down a hall, it had doors on each side...they were all large and reinforced with numbers on them.

At the end of the hall, some stair led to the lower levels...as he went deeper into the facility, he passed many floors which all had hallways filled with the same doors...he was in a prison and he was the guard

Finally, he reached the bottom, there was a large reinforced door in his way...right beside it was a panel on the wall, it had cutout that seemed to be missing a piece. The guard placed his hands around his neck and revealed a locket hidden by his uniform...he drew it away from himself and placed it in the cutout...it fitted in perfectly

Some light was emitted from the panel as it seemed to scan the locket, and the door dragged heavily across the ground as it opened. Behind the door was circular that had no place to stand, it was deep and seemed to be bottomless but a walkway that led to its center...there was a room, it had a small bed and a something that looked like a toilet...it was also surrounded by glass and had no supports, making it appear to hover.

Beside it was another panel on a stand with the same cutout

The inside had its ceiling and floor glowing bright red...someone laid on the bed...a woman. It was a special cell. The guard crossed the walkway and tap on the glass, the woman inside sat up no the bed...it was Janna

-Your Majesty the preparation is ready

-So today is the day

She got up and stretched her body...and move closer to the guard with only glass separating them. The guard got out his locket and performed what he did before with the other panel, and the glass slowly began shifting over to the side creating an opening

Janna then stepped through and went to the other side of the walkway with the guard following closely behind...she looked at her hands and it emitted the red energy, and she clenched her fist

-It has been so long

BANG

-What was that?

She opened up her sleepy eyes, using her arm to rub them

BANG

This time she was startled by the sound...it was coming from just outside her door

-Who is it?

BANG

It was louder this time...it seemed the door was being forced open. She stood up from her bed and quickly had her back against the wall...her heart beating faster as fear filled her

BANG

The door flew and a couple of men stormed into the room, they had markings on their face and carried weapons in their hands...they rushed to where she was and attempted to grab her. In retaliation, she tried running away...but it was too late, they had held her tight...she struggled to free herself from their grip but could not overpower them.

Yina screamed as loud as she can while they carried her out of the room. Outside she saw a couple of bodies on the ground soaked in blood...heavy fighting had taken place just outside her room and she slept through it all

She was taken to the large throne room...its walls were made out of glass, not just any glass though...it was the strongest there was, from the height there where, most of the capital city could be seen...it was a spectacular sight. A couple of people were on their knees while the unknown intruders watched them closely. Yina was forced down to her knees and joined them...she was confused and scared, then something wrapped around her body...they were hands and it was an embrace she received, she turned to see it was her sister

-I am glad you are ok

She looked into her eyes confused, she whispered

-What is going on?

Kirra looked at the armed men and back at her

-It is a rebellion

-What...why..why aren't you using your powers?

-I would not be able to takeout all of them in time, and they might kill one or all of you...I am not ready to risk that

Several of the rebels then grabbed Kirra away from the group...Yina held onto her hand and as she tried to pull her away from them

-Let go, girl

One of the men who was standing in the distance went behind Yina and swung his hand at the back of her head...this caused her to let go of her sister's hand and disorientated her

-YINA...LET GO OF HER!!!

Kirra then struggled to free herself...her eyes began glowing blue. The man behind Yina grabbed her by the hair and pulled her towards himself...with his other hand, he reached into his clothes and pulled out a knife placing it on her neck

-Try anything and I will slit her throat

The energy dispersed from her eyes and she stops her struggles...the rebels pulled her away and out of the room before she was gone, she shouted

-YINA, WE WILL GET THROUGH THIS

The man slammed Yina's head to the ground and kicked her abdomen...she got dizzy and her eyes slowly closed, the sound all around her drained away...it all became dark and silent

Faint sounds...not sure what it was

Could hear the voices of people...can not be sure though

Could hear her name...it grew louder and kept repeating

-YINA...YINA...YINA

Her eyes opened and she was greeted with a familiar face...she smiled, Tye

-Are you ok?

-Kirra

She slowly sat up when she said this...looking around she saw the palace guards filled the room and attended to the now free hostages

-You should rest

-No...where is she?

Tye could see the determination in her eyes

-Your stubbornness is going to get you killed one day

They both giggled a bit

-They took her to the Transcend

Yina then stands up then walks towards the glass walls and she looked up into the sky

-We going now

-And we meet again

Their eyes locked

Both were fuming with rage

Those who restrained Kirra let go of her and stood behind her...they were in an open area surrounded by cells

-Turn on the forcefield

Janna said to the men and they left the area, seconds later a force field surrounded both of them...just Kirra and Janna, together...no other people

They still had their eyes locked on each other

-You know I don't want to do this

She still stayed silent not responding to what she had said

-Answer me...ANSWER ME

-This is what we are going to do

She kept quiet as Janna began moving around and stretching her body

-We are going to fight...no help or powers, nothing like that

Kirra takes a big gulp

-Can I talk you out of this

She cracked her knuckles

-You are already meant to know my answer

Her face was fixed on Kirra, she then took a stance...arms up, ready to punch. She did the same thing and took heavy breaths

Both were stationary, seemed to be waiting for someone to make the first move

Suddenly, Kirra charged at her...she smiled, her hands glowed red and Janna shot a beam of energy from her hands causing Kirra to go across the room

She chuckled...her eyes now glowing red

-Sorry, I forgot that we weren't meant to use our powers

She then had a disturbing smile before blasting more beams out of her hands and eyes toward Kirra

-

-Tell me what happened

She walked back to Tye

-It is a coup

-Coup?

-Yah...seems like not everyone is happy with your sister taking the throne...this was all your mother, seems she had been planning this for quite some time

More palace guards pour into the room

-Right now all the prisoners on board the Transcend are free with some even trying to make it down to the planet

Yina began to walk back and forth as she processed the information she had gotten and tried figuring out the next course of action

-We are going to rescue Kirra, which means we are getting onboard that space station no matter what

-But how

She remains silent for a while as she stared at the ground

-We use the O-one chemical, that won't affect Kirra

-Or your mother...are sure, because at this point you are killing hundreds onboard that space station

She takes in a deep breath

-Yes

Tye then shouted at the top of her voice

-GET ME CONTACT WITH O SQUAD NOW

The guards began scrambling around as they began executing her order...she then looked at Yina, who looked outside the glass walls

-What about the rebels?

-Our defense squads are already engaging and pushing them back, there is no need to worry about them

-Good

She then whispered to herself

-You better stay alive Kirra...your sister is coming
