Chapter Four - The Operation

Everyone in the camp gathered around the unknown spacecraft, with some even touching it....but unknown to them they were been watched from the shadows

A woman was beside the commander and she spoke

-Sir they are vastly outnumbering us

-Hmm

The man was silent and analyzed the situation...he then had his eye set on the spacecraft

-Continue with the operation

The woman performed a gesture with her hands for the others to see...and they began to take their position...they stood still for a while

The unsuspecting Blackstar members still surrounded the spacecraft, they were amazed by its technology...then the sound of multiple rounds of bullets being fired was heard and they were confused...and completely caught off guard. They watched as some of their own were gunned down

Nikko could hear the shots and he stood up from the log he sat on...he began wondering what was happening. He had already been untied because his story was confirmed

-Hey Jeremiah, what is going on there?

-How about a bit of respect from your ass?

He glanced a deadly look at Nikko

-Sorry about that

-It is Specialist...however, just sit boy

A walkie-talkie beside Jeremiah began blaring and a voice came through it

-This is Sergeant Amy, we are pinned down...requesting assistance from aircraft fire

It was a woman's voice...she sounded desperate. Jeremiah picked up the walkie-talkie and responded

-This Specialist Jeremiah, bringing chopper inbound over

-Hurry...over and out

Nikko stood up once again on hearing this

-Sit down ok

-No...but I have to help them

He then ran towards the sound of gunfire leaving Jeremiah behind...as he drew closer to the battle he felt the earth around him moving, so he stopped...the feeling also stopped. He then knelt and placed his hands on the ground, the earth around him began moving again...vines sprouted from the ground

-Woah...plant life manipulation or maybe I can just control vines

He laughed at his joke, then continued running

-This will come in handy

They were surrounded by multiple Blackstar members...and wherein a dugout area, the unit was completely overwhelmed, the commander looked for a possible way out but could find none...however they stopped firing at the bullets but instead began shooting at something behind them with some even running.

-What is going on?

The commander said under his breath

Large vines shot out of the ground and took hold of the members in front, they screamed as they were pulled into the ground...then Nikko came up to them

-There you guys are

Everyone was shocked and confused...they came out of the dugout and to their surprise, the entire camp had been cleared out

-Did you do this?

-Yes of course

He had a smirk on his face

-How?

-Short answer...I got powers

The commander did not give any expression and just walked by him, so did the others

-Wait aren't you amazed by that?

The group stopped and the commander turned back at Nikko

-Amazed

He laughed a bit

-Not really...I already know about this power thing and for you to have it then it means you activated your variant gene, am I right?

Nikko looked shocked and startled by what he said

-How did you know...not everyone is meant to know about this

Silence

The commander then looked very serious and he looked him right in the eyes

-Look boy I am not just anyone...we are not just anyone, now we would discuss this later...our priority is to recover that vessel over there

And with that, they continued walking towards the vessel and Nikko just stood still

-Who is this guy...what is this group...how does he know so much about the variant gene

This where what was buzzing through his mind...it made him feel uneasy

Then suddenly the unit drew out their weapons and Nikko realized too late but they were surrounded by Blackstar reinforcements within seconds...some had rocket launchers and pointed them at him

-Shit

He was about to use his powers but a loud noise came from the spacecraft...everyone directed their attention to it...another one was heard and even a massive dent was made on it. Nikko looked over at the commander whose eyes where still fixed on it

-What exactly is that?

Another one was heard even louder than the previous one

-That is an alien spacecraft...and we are about to see what is inside

-Wait...what

And with a powerful force of energy, the vessel ripped open sending a cloud of dust into the air and a hand was seen...and slowly the organism emerged from it...it looked humanoid, had long hair and it is eyes glowed blue...as the dust settled everyone saw what it look like...a female
