The Rune

Zhang Yang looked around the place in amazement. He thought his monestery was the only place that would feel ethereal but he realized he was a frog in the well. This place felt like a Buddha resided in it. Too bad the person in charge, the bald woman, was tainted by a really evil aura. The aura itself gave him a very sick feeling.

"Why did you bring us here?" Zhang Yang asked her. The woman did not answer but patiently poured tea for the two of them. Henry was floating behind her, tied up by glowing and sparkling ropes, unconscious. When both cups were filled, she pushed one cup to Zhang Yang and started drinking the second one. Zhang Yang drank the tea slowly and was surprised by how good it was.

"I grew the herbs myself, the only thing that keeps me mundane," she said when she saw his shocked face. Zhang Yang just nodded as he felt she had more to say. "You said you could feel an evil aura in my power. Can you tell me how you could feel it?" Zhang Yang looked at her cautiously.

"Buddha can feel the evilness in one's aura and he uses it to gauge just how he can save the person. The evilness in your power is so powerful it was like you had destroyed billions of lives with your feeling any sympathy. Buddha would exterminate the bearer of that power if he finds him," Zhang Yang said. The woman chuckled as if she just heard the world's funniest joke but doesn't want to laugh out loud without looking uncivilised.

"Buddha was once human so he doesn't know just how big the universe is. The power I use belong to a celestial being with the power of a whole dimension. I made I deal with him that is why he has not consumed Earth and I am using his power. It all comes down to protecting all the lives in this planet," she said. Zhang Yang's head almost exploded when he heard that. A being with a deminsion worth of powers! Just how ridiculous was that.

"Are we in his dimension?" he asked as he looked around like a rabbit caught in a trap. The woman laughed at this too.

"This place is called Kamar Taj, a place where the broken people come to seek redemption," she said then looked at Henry who was waking up. Zhang Yang turned to look at him too. Henry opened his eyes slowly as he came to. The first thing he saw was the bald woman. He immediately started struggling to get free.

"Calm down, Mr Cowell, nobody is here to hurt you," the wan said. But Henry was not having any of that. His eyes glowed blue suddenly then plasma shot out of them towards the woman who quickly put up a magical shield. But the force of the plasma sent her out of the building and tumbling through other buildings, scaring the crap out of the disciples and masters in the place. Zhang Yang knew he was next so he quickly dragged his injured body out of the building and it was just in time too for the building exploded with a sudden burst of lightning. Henry was still not free and he was getting desperate. So, he opened his mouth and screamt. It was not a normal scream but a sonic scream.

The air rippled due to the sound waves as everyone who was hit by them started exploding or having internal organs imploded. The bald woman saw what was happening and quickly waved her hand. Henry saw space folding and quickly remembered what happened last time. If the rock had not destroyed the illusion, he would have never known he was in one so he overdrawed all his powers and a burst of plasma hot heat came from his body and the ropes broke and disipated in the air. As soon as he felt he was free, Henry shot to the sky, trying his best to escape from the folding space, leaving behind sonic booms.

"You are going nowhere," the woman said as she drew a sign in the air and a rune formed. The rune shot towards Henry in light speed and hit him on his chest. Henry screamt in pain and his flight started becoming haphazard but he was still going at full speed. The woman watched as he disappeared in the horizon and sighed in disappointment. She then looked around and realized that almost everyone in the place was dead!

"What a dangerous mutant, causing deaths even when he isn't aiming to kill!" she said to herself.

Henry was getting dizzy and dizzy as he flew but he knew where he was flying to, back to the US. He tried to fight the drowsiness by flying even faster and letting the cold, splitting wind to hit his face and body but it was all for naught. He finally saw the Easter Seaboard and he was finally overcame by the drowsiness. He started falling but with his speed, he was still going with the forward momentum so when he hit the ground, he was two hundred miles away from the shore. The moment he hit the ground, he bounced back to the air then came down again a few metres away and his body made a six hundred metres trench till he stopped.

Mikey is your everyday astronomy need and he had a feeling that something was going to happen very soon in the sky. So, he missed going to school and went to the water tower where his hideout was then spent the rest of the day watching the sky. At around noon, he saw something coming towards the ground in an accelerated free fall.

He used his telescope thinking if might be a meteor but he was shocked to find out that it was actually a human! Or something that resembled a human. He double checked to make sure what he was seeing was the right thing and it was. When the humanoid hit the ground, Mikey felt the ground shake then it shook again after a few seconds. Mikey quickly packed his things, got onto his dirt bike and rode to where he saw the humanoid fall.

It was an hour's ride from the water tower and each metres he came closer his heart was beating more fiercely. Finally, he saw the trench the humanoid made when he landed and be grew even more excited and afraid. He parked the bike, the engine still on, just in case, then followed the trench till he saw the humanoid.

The first thing he noticed was how huge he was. He was about two metres and thirty centimetres tall, his body was pure muscle! The clothes he had on were burnt that his skin was showing and Mikey felt jealous when he saw just how ripped he was. An Olympian god couldn't hold a candle to him. To make things worse, he was blonde, his body maintained its lean form and the most ry catching thing was his Adam's apple that was sticking out making him even more charming! He looked down and saw the twelve pack on his stomach and the thought of leaving him here alone crossed his mind. Nobody should be that dashing! Reluctantly, he pressed his fingers on his jaguar and felt the blood flowing showing he was still alive. Just then, a rune appeared on his chest and the hunk woke up with a start. Once his eyes were locked with Mikey's, the poor lad did not know what happened next but he would never forget what came after. He found himself pinned on the ground with a huge palm then red eyes looked down at him.

"Who are you?" Henry asked him through clenched teeth.

"Mikey Stineys," Mikey answered immediately. This was scary as hell. Henry noticed the American accent and let him go.

"We need to get out of here. Dangerous people are coming over," Henry told him.

"I have a diet bike nearby," Mikey answered without thinking. Henry nodded and the two went to the still running dirt bike. Mikey rode them out of the place and once they were far enough, Henry looked back as he took a deep breath in then blew. It was as if a category two storm blew over as the winds picked up speed and every track the dirt bike made was erased. Mikey saw that through the rear view mirror and his heart went cold. With just blowing the man he was carrying made winds strong enough to carry cars away! But as much as he was afraid of the man, he would never take him home so the best place was the water tower. Once inside, Henry relaxed and sat on a bean chair and sighed in relief.

"That woman was so dangerous! What did she do to me, exactly?" he asked himself then looked at his chest. He saw the rune there and frowned even more. He turned to Mikey who was trying his best to keep his distance. "Do you have internet service here?" Mikey shook his head frantically. "Can you take me somewhere there is?" Henry saw how the boy was too scared of him and decided to act friendly.

"My name is Henry Cowell, thank you for coming to my crash site. I promise you that I will not let anything bad happen to you and I will out of your hair as soon as I am done. How old are you?" Henry asked.

"Fourteen," Mikey answered.

"Oh, you are one year older than me that makes you the elder here so man up," Henry joked but all that it did was make him feel even more inferior.

'Are thirteen year olds this awesome? He is bigger than anyone he ever saw!" Mikey told himself but still nodded at Henry. They went down the water tower, onto the bike and they headed towards town. Mikey knew they were going to get stares but not the kind of stares they were getting. The women seemed like they couldn't wait to tear up Henry's clothes and ride the mountain while men were looking enviously or in adoration at his chest or abs. Mikey parked at the cyber cafe and by then, everyone's eyes were on them. They got inside the café and found the manager who coincidentally was a woman.

"I would like to use your computer's, please," Henry said. The woman nodded in a daze and Henry walked to the nearest computer. He turned it on then started searching for ancient languages that have been recorded online. He went from Egyptian hieroglyphs, Greek hieroglyphs all the way to Norse Runes and finally found what he was looking for. He clicked on the Norse Runes and started searching for the rune on his chest but to no avail.

"She must have used something that is not recorded yet. Damn it, I need to know what this rune is and fast," he said as he switched off the computer in frustration. He turned to Mikey who was looking at everything with an open mouth.

"Thanks for everything. I won't trouble you anymore," he told her then got up and turned to the manager. "I don't have cash to pay you..."

"It's okay, you can pay me by letting me touch your chest," she said. Henry did not see anything wrong with that so he let her go wild which prooved to be a mistake for she started running her hands all over his body till she nearly groped his groin so he pushed her back gently then got out of the café followed by Mikey.

"Where exactly am I?" he asked Mikey.

"Wolsey, Texas," Mikey nodded. Henry nodded in understanding then looked around.

"Sorry to bother you but can I stay at your place?" he asked.

"I am sorry but..." Mikey did not even finish before someone shouted out loud.

"You can sleep at my place, my parents are not in!" Henry looked at who just spoke and saw a red head teenage girl, beautiful too smiling at him.

"Thank you, I will make sure I won't bother you,"

"You can bother me any way you want, I won't mind. Follow me," she said.
