Chapter 19- Vigilant Yaksha!

Seven years have passed. In those seven years, Mai has become some sort of a legendary figure, almost contesting All Might. That's because she had chopped the hands of many villains in action as a vigilante, which caused a lot of controversy.

Vigilantes are people who voluntarily carry out duties usually done by Pro Heroes without paying attention to the law. Due to the Hero regulations and Quirk restriction laws, people are not allowed to perform heroic duties out on their own and vigilantism is therefore illegal. Well, not that Mai broke any law, because what she used wasn't a quirk, it was just her 'abilities'.

Strangely, it does not cause panic among most ordinary people because, during that long period, her victim was only the villain. Some even think that she operates better than most pro heroes. She even became an urban legend. Many parents recite tales about her actions to their children so that they won't dare to do bad things in the future.

For example, in one of her early acts, a group of villains was robbing a bank. After they succeed, the leader even came out to ask for ransom for their hostage. It looked like they were very confident that they could run away from heroes after they had done this.

At that time, there was a bystander who recorded the occurrence. Just when the leader wanted to shoot one of the hostages with the gun in his hand, the people around saw a little girl with a demon mask suddenly appearing behind the said villain. After a blur movement, both of his hands were chopped and fell to the ground.

She then picked up the hands and disappeared as the leader was still screaming in misery. When the heroes start their action, it's already too late. All of the villains inside the bank were squirming on the floor, their hands were all got taken off.

When the recorded video was uploaded to Thoutube, it went viral. It was then that she was nicknamed Vigilant Yaksha. No one knows who came out with that name first, but it sounds awesome, so everyone agreed to give her that nickname.

She became a talk almost everywhere. Some people disagree with her doing while some agree. They went toxic to each other because of the difference in opinion. The discussion was harsh, rivaling those called anime waifu wars.

Because of how famous she is, one of the 'experts' on the internet succeeded in getting her real information. Even though she wears a mask, her lavender hair and her short stature just stood out too much in her bloodshed action. Many people were shocked at how young she was.

Too bad, she didn't use that identity anymore. In her daily life, she would use the identity of Mai Friend with her long, straight black hair. Moreover, with her kimono that she used daily, she looks more like a reserved young lady instead of a psychopathic human cutter.

Mai always put on her demon mask and changed her clothing with the help of the inventory instant wear before she does her action. So, the link between the two identities is practically nonexistent, well, except for her name and emotionless expression. But she wouldn't tell her name to some random people. Though, she must confide it to the landlady of her now rented apartment, the fake one, of course.

The heroes didn't like what she was doing. They constantly searched for her location to detain her, but all their efforts were fruitless. It's like she's vanished into thin air after she is done doing her business with the villains.

Even All Might appeared in the media to ask Mai for a meeting with the heroes. He guaranteed for the heroes to not capture Mai if she agreed to come.

Supposedly, the request was ignored by Mai, not because she didn't want to, but because she didn't even know about it. All she did when she was not patrolling was read novels and manga that she bought with her money, not pirated.

She sometimes watched anime too, it was just that she felt reading them was better. The voice actors for the anime were mostly pro heroes, not professionals, to lure children into watching it. She kind of wants to punch the director in the face for how bad it is.

While Mai was enjoying the MHA world's contents, the heroes were irritated because they thought they were getting ignored. Not even a rejection letter came to them. But there's just nothing they can do about it.

All Might's fans, being toxic they were, started shitting on Mai on the internet. While Mai's fans, the ones who agreed with her action were actively defending her. But then Mai's fans recognized that those All Might's fans were also the people who didn't agree with Mai's action previously. Hence, the internet went crazy.

Today is the day for this year's U.A. Highschool entrance exam. It's an academy that boasts the best Heroics education in Japan.

Mai knows that today is where the main story of My Hero Academia started. Wait, change that into Mai Hero Academia.

She was sure about that because not only because of her past life, where the years of when it happened are clearly stated in the anime. But also because in one of her patrols, she found Izuku Midoriya and All Might were training on the coast near the city. It's already late for her to steal All Might's quirk. Not that she wanted it anyway.

Mai knows about All Might quirk, which is, One For All. She also checks its info with the system appraisal. The description was super awesome, but, for normal people. For her, it was like poison.

The weirdest thing about the stats is her luck attribute. It didn't increase one bit from character gacha. For now, she can only use her attribute points to increase it. In those 7 years, her luck was pretty bad. She didn't get any notable Touhou character. The best thing she got is a 3-star purple scroll, which is pretty sad. Furthermore, she had already collected the reward for both of her school incidents.

Also, Mai's height only increased a little since she ran away from her orphanage. Now, she looked like a 10-year-old girl. She didn't have any height complex or anything. But she sighed in relief when she knew that she was an A-cup, not flat.

Enough about that, for this special day, Mai has already bought a special dress from the system shop. She bought the (real) Kirisame Marisa's dress with her (cosplay) hat, both for 146.000 incident points. It was a black and white color scheme, consisting of a black vest and skirt with a white waist apron and undershirt. The hat is a black witch's hat with a cute white colored bow on the top.

After she's done with her preparation, she then uses her Manipulation of Unconscious Mind to herself and opened the door of her apartment room, and went outside. When she had already far away from her apartment and nearing U.A. Highschool, she cancels her ability right in the middle of public and then continues her way toward the academy.

The pedestrians and some children who want to join the U.A. entrance exam were shocked when she appeared out of thin air and then their level of shock raised to another level when they realized that it was the Vigilant Yaksha. They knew she was the real deal because just like the story, she can appear out of nowhere.

Some were panicked while some took out their phone to take some photos. Mai just ignored them all. Right when she's in front of the U.A. entrance gate, she was surrounded by many adults wearing unusually odd costumes.
