Chapter 27: "I still have a chance..."

Hospital.

Rohit opened his eyes as a white wall came into his vision. Riya was seen and she was walking with his assistant Jay towards him.

"Rohit you...you woke up?", Riya who just walked towards him spoke.

"Hmm.", He simply nodded his head.

"You know how worried I was...huh, glad you woke up...", Riya started to speak but Rohit was too impatient to listen to her nonsense.

"Riya can I get the breakfast you prepared for me last time?", He spoke as his voice was a bit raspy.

But this made her feel startled...'That wasn't prepared by me. It was by Aditi, that stupid. How can I get it now?' she thought.

"I..", When she was searching for excuses. Rohit found she was behaving a bit unusual.

"I'm asking about the lunch you delivered to me 4 months back...I don't know why but I just wanna eat it again.", He spoke as his voice was full of warmth but his heart was filled with questions.

Because the words he heard from Wendy...were too hard for him to believe.

{Yesterday.

He started his car and after few minutes his car stopped in front of Wendy's house.

He quickly walked towards her apartment and started to bang the door and ring the bell continuously.

After a few minutes, The door was opened as Sunny's face came into his vision.

"Sunny...is mommy in? No...Is Aunt Aditi in?", He spoke as he tried to enter the home.

"Stay back you cheater...I knew you were useless from start I warned my Adi too many times but she blindly said you were a good man and said I have to be nice to you...but all you did was hurt her in the end. Now that she left you...why are you here? Did you realize what you lost now?", Sunny's voice was nowhere like a kid. It was like a knife stabbing Rohit into his chest again and again.

"Sunny who is at the door?", Wendy who just came out of the kitchen spoke.

The moment she saw Rohit her anger pilled up to peak level.

"What do you want?", She spoke controlling her anger.

"Is She in there?",

"Who is she? Riya? Mina or Tina? you think my house is a hotel?", She clearly knew who he's asking for but she's sure she's gonna play dumb.

"Is Aditi in there?", Rohit spoke as he controlled his anger.

"NO...even if she's hear I will not let her see you. Just get out of my house your face disgusts me.", She spoke.

"Wendy tell me a reason why? Why are you so cold to me?", His anger reached peaks as he really wanted to know.

"Do you want a reason fine I have countless reasons? The day she brought you breakfast even though when she just came back from a long trip...what did you message her? You were so heartless and said the food was awful to eat and said you threw everything and asked her not to do such things again. Are you a rock? Do you know she didn't eat her food properly that week and entered the hospital? Next time she bought you a shirt for your birthday...what did you message her? That the shirt isn't your match and you asked to not buy anything if that isn't expensive and said the gift was too poor to wear. It's funny that you've sent a picture where you've thrown the shirt into a dustbin. Rohit if I start to say the reasons...You and I have to spend an entire month...even if you are free to listen I'm not that free. Aditi was once a fool to think of you as a god...but now she seems to wake up from the long dream she's been dreaming...she just came back to reality don't pull her into that horrible dream again. You are nothing but a Nightmare to her.", Wendy spoke as she mercilessly shut the door on his face.

"I didn't...the breakfast? When did Aditi send me breakfast? Isn't it Riya? And a gift? When did I receive her gift?" His brain was on the verge of break down.

'What in the world happen behind the beautiful lies I've been witnessing till now...'He wondered as he entered his car when he was about to reach Riya's house and ask for an explanation a car rushed towards him and an accident happened.}

"Rohit...Rohit?", He came back to reality as he heard Riya's voice.

"Haa"

"I'll prepare it for you.", She spoke as she walked out. 'Isn't it just a lunch...I can ask someone to do it.' she thought as she entered her car.

"Boss are you okay?", Jay spoke as he walked towards him.

"Jay ask the PR department to recover all my deleted messages I sent to Aditi all this while.", He spoke as he really wanted to know the truth.

"Right away sir.", Jay walked out of the room.

'What in the world did you go through Adi...When did I lose you?' He spoke to himself as he closed his eyes.

Wendy's apartment.

She stirred the soup for Sunny as she went into deep thought.

Flashback...

"What you got married?", Wendy was stunned.

"Don't shout we are at café.", Aditi shut her mouth.

"who's that person?", Wendy thought Aditi married someone recklessly.

"Someone who's in a higher position than me?", Aditi spoke.

"Your manager?"

"Someone higher."

"His manager?"

"Someone higher?"

"Tell me who it is right now? Is he your company's Boss or what, why are keeping me in suspense like he's some MEDIA SCORE's owner?", She spoke and banged the table as she couldn't guess anymore.

"Bingo. He's the new CEO, grandson of Rajesh Mishra.", Aditi spoke as she gulped the coffee she just had.

"Aditi, did you get scammed? Are you unwell?", Wendy touched her head to check Aditi's temperature.

"I'm fine and here this is the marriage certificate...here you go.", Aditi rolled her eyes as she placed the photo in front of Wendy.

Then she explained all the things happened to her.

"Adi...I'm so happy for you...", Wendy walked towards her and gave her a tight hug.]

"Mama...Mama...", Sunny's voice brought her back into the world.

"What?", She spoke as she smiled.

"Soup...My soup.", He spoke seeing his day dreaming mom and boiling soup which is about to overflow.

"Oh no...huh on time, if not I would have been cleaning the stove again.", She felt relived.

"Ahh...god why on earth did you give me this kind of mama...what crime did I commit?", He spoke as he walked out.

"Idiot what did you say?", She spoke but Sunny was nowhere is vision.

Anyway she's happy that Aditi has got a good husband she deserved.

HOSPITAL.

"The soup is hot...let me blow it for you.", Riya spoke as she started to blow.

Rohit patiently waited and took sip of the soup.

'It's different as expected.' He sipped the soup but it was stuck in his throat. He felt disgusted o drink the soup.

"The soup is a bit different from before.", He spoke in a casual tone.

"I just let it burn for more time so it may seem different. Isn't it good have it.", Riya spoke as she gave an useless excuse.

He felt disgusted how did he believe this person in front of him who lied without a blink. How did he not know her true colour when she was being this ridiculous. He felt annoyed at him.

"Riya I will eat it later. I wanna sleep can you go back and come later.", He spoke hiding all his disgust he felt towards her.

"I can stay.", She spoke.

"No...I mean Jay will be here go and take some rest.", He gave a fake smile at her.

"Okay.", She left the room feeling happy that he didn't doubt her dish.

Jay entered the room after few minutes with a document in his hand.

"Boss these are the deleted messages from your phone you...NO...Ms.Riya sent to Ms.Aditi.", He spoke as Rohit's eyes widened.

"You knew?", He spoke as his tone was cold.

"I saw Ms.Riya once typing and deleting a message in your phone.", He quickly replied.

"You may go now.", He spoke.

He opened the document.

{ 1.12.2017- "Aditi are you deaf? I hate black dresses can you put on some bright colors when you meet me?".

8.03.2018- "Aditi you...are you serious about our relationship or are you just interested n my money?".

The messages were too hurtful to read...the more he read the more suffocated he felt.

He pushed the lamp beside his bed in anger.

'I didn't send them? I didn't...Aditi will you believe me?' was the only thing running in his mind.

He closed his eyes feeling anger and helplessness.

"I still have a chance...I'll beg her until she accepts me again.", he thought as he closed his eyes.
