Chapter 06: Revenge [02]

After completing the first quest and also discussing our plans on defeating Javier. We got another quest.

"This system gives us rewards just for completing the plan!?" Luke said, a little surprised.

It is too overpowered. We have the lore, game guide, scan, world map which we can zoom in and zoom out and mainly, the quests.

"Forget about this. We need to gather information on Javier." He said.

Both of us looked at him and nodded our heads.

Our plan was to observe Javier from far away for three days. If we can't gather anything important, then we will kidnap one of his guys for information.

We went out the door of the room with new confidence.

We began to gather information about his activities from the local shop. Of course, with our faces hidden and identity untold.

"Javier? HE'S A REALLY BAD GUY. THE GUILD SHOULD JUST KICK HIM AND FINE HIM." A saloon owner said.

"Him? I know him. HE'S AN IRREDEEMABLE B*STARD. HE BEAT UP MY SON JUST BECAUSE HE BUMPED INTO HIM!" The owner of an alchemy shop said.

"His daily activity? I DON'T GIVE F*CK ABOUT HIM! HE SHOULD JUST DISAPPEAR FROM THIS TOWN!!" The owner of a fruit shop said.

All we could gather was that the people of the town hated him a lot... Useless information.

After asking every shop in the town, we gave up and were now back to our inn.

"We should just wait for three days." I said.

"I, too think so but I kinda didn't want to follow that plan." Luke said.

"DON'T SAY THAT! It was the best plan from the start. If we make our minds strong right now, it will make our future life quite easier." Jake said.

Both, me and Luke clicked out tongues. I didn't know if I was still ready for it but let's goo... I guess.

Three days later.

Javier and his party were having a drink tonight. They had completed the Goblin Subjugation Quest which had a difficulty of E. Even though, Javier's rank was F+, if we see the total combat ability of his whole party then it would be E+.

"DRINKS ON ME, EVERYONE!!!" Javier shouted.

They were able to complete this quest with just a few scratches. Although it was not a big thing generally, it was a great success for their party.

"THANKS BOSS!!" The male mage shouted. He had a rank of F.

"YEAH YOU'RE AWESOME!!" The female healer shouted. She had a rank of E.

The other two members of his party were an Archer and one more swordsman. Both of them had a rank of F-.

Everybody inside the inn was lost in drinking since Javier was gonna pay for it today.

"I am coming back right now." The healer said.

Nobody heard her. They were very busy partying. He couldn't care less about them.

She went upstairs on the second floor to use the general toilet. She opened the door and walked inside. As soon as she did that, a hand was laid on her mouth so she couldn't shout. Something was then close to her neck.

She looked closely to see that it was the sharp end of a real sword. Both me and Luke had kept the sharp end of our swords to her neck so she will get no time to fully shout if she does.

"Mmm... Mm.. mmm!"

"(WHO ARE YOU ALL!?)" Her voice only came out as a muffled voice because of the hand on her mouth.

She looked around to see that there were three person, hiding their faces with cloth.

"Shhh.. Shut up." Jake said as he tightened his grip.

The girl tried to resist but I put the sharp end of the sword, a little more closer to her neck.

If I put the sword even a milimetre closer to her neck, then she may bleed.

"Now, listen to me. When I ask a question and then remove my hand, you will not shout." Jake said as he loosened his grip just a little.

"If you do then remember, this sword will be faster to go through your neck than the people coming here." He said. Her eyes showed despair.

I was hesitant about this plan a little but I couldn't show it or else I may show our weakness. I want to achieve a lot of things in this world.

Jake then began to drag her near the bathtub and pushed her into it.

"P-Please don't kill me. I will not say anything about you." She said as tears poured down her cheek.

"Talk only when you are told." Jake said coldly. His demeanor has completely changed compared to back in the old world. It was as if I was looking at a completely different person.

"Tell me. Where does Javier stay? What does he do on a daily basis and when he is alone?" I asked her this time.

"P-Please lea-ave me after I say everything." She said. We could see the fear in her eyes.

"STOP TALKING CRAP!" Jake shouted as he slapped her. Her cheeks have become red in the place where she was slapped. She was breathing heavily right now.

Jake's shout was suppressed by the party which was going down there.

"Give me that!" Jake said as he snatched my sword. He put it near her right leg

"Answer the question now or else get ready to be a cripple." Jake said as his eyes showed that he was completely serious.

My left hand was twitching a bit now. I held it with my right hand to try to stop it but it didn't.

I looked at Luke who was quiet all this time. He was the type of person who jokes and plays around. I could tell that he too wasn't liking it.

"H-He usually s-sleeps in the alleys or stays drunk up in the b-bar. H-He is alone only during the time when he shops for weapons or p-potions." She said.

She glanced at me and then at Luke. Her eyes were asking for help.

"Let's go back. We got the information that we needed." Luke said. I could tell that he was maintaining his calm but he was just like I was.

"Okay, let's go..." Jake said as he gave back my sword.

The healer who was panicking all the time, looked a little more calm than before.

"Only before we do this." He said as he again grabbed her neck.

"MMHHHH!" She shouted in a muffled voice.

"Do it. Together." Jake said as his hands were shaking. I didn't know whether it was because of her struggling or Jake's fear.

We had to do it someday. Either we kill her to harden ourselves or die later by hesitating tomorrow.

I looked at Luke. He also looked ready.

Our hands were shaking but we pulled back our swords. The healer tried to kick Jake but his grip was too strong. She started to scratch him but he just endured it.

In the neck second, both of our swords pierced different parts of her body. For me her neck and for Luke her stomach. We will watched till the last second as she stopped and her eyes had no life.

Tears fell down our cheeks but our eyes were serious. We gritted our teeth.

This is to strengthen ourselves right?
