9 Trip to Fulfilment 4

At Dover. Denise's Apartment.

Furthermore, Denise had forgotten that he was a semi married man, and walked into his bedroom leisurely without knocking, and searched for Olivia. Suddenly, he saw her coming out of the bathroom, but she was with only the towel that she wrapped around her chest. On seeing Denise in the bedroom, she was startled, and walked back to the bathroom.

“Oh! I'm sorry to barge in,” Denise apologized, and returned to the sitting room. He was lying on the sofa reading a magazine when Olivia walked in, and sat on the next chair. She looked at him, not knowing how to address him, but she could only mutter, “Good morning, Mr.”

Subsequently, Denise rose from the couch, and dropped the magazine on the center table. Then, he scanned her, and responded, “Good morning, Angel, how are you now?”

Now, Olivia was not familiar with the name, but she could guess that he was referring to her, and responded, “I’m fine. And you?”

Likewise, he gave her an affectionate look and replied, “I am fine. Welcome to my humble home.”

“Thank you.”

“Endeavor to make yourself comfortable. Did you get me?”

“I got you.”

“Feel free and don’t hesitate to draw my attention when you need help.”

Thereafter, Denise stood up and began to walk to the room, but he was halted by Olivia's voice.

“Thank you very much, Mr. Please, what is your name? My name is…”

Denise cut her short politely and declared with a smile, “You don’t need to tell me your name, I already know. My name is Denise. Let me take a bath, as you can see, I’m just coming back from work.”

“All right. Denise,” she responded happily. Meanwhile, Denise walked upstairs to his bedroom and surveyed it. He discovered that she had dressed the bed properly. He also noticed that all her stuff was still in her luggage. However, he walked into the bathroom, and it was the same thing. She had gathered her toiletries into her suitcase. He opened the wardrobe, but none of her clothes were there. There was no sanitary pad in view, both used and unused ones.

“She must be a reserved girl. I can see that she was not intending to stay,” he reasoned, ran his fingers through his hair and took a deep breath.

“Eh! Miscarriage? Could she be someone's wife? Or is it an arrangement from God, just like my Godfather predicted? Let's see how it goes,” he muttered, and undressed before he got into the bathroom. Nevertheless, he saw the note he dropped for her beneath the bed, and picked it up.

'It must have fallen off when Freya attempted to take her to the hospital,'he concluded. Then, he walked to the bathroom, and took his bath. After twenty minutes, he joined Olivia, who was watching the television in the parlor with two cups of tea.

At Sevenoaks Branch Clinic.

(The last call to the number was on Friday by 1600 hours and from ±44 16...... The phone is switched off for now. If you want to locate the user, you have to contact the authority. I hope this meets your needs.)

Louis was already in sweat before he was through with the message. He looked at the doctor with teary eyes and asked, “What do you advise me to do, doctor?”

Dr. Quain, who could not hide his worries, consoled, “I feel your pains, Mr. Bailey. Now, the only thing I feel you should do is to be calm. Who knows, she must have traveled to see her parents abroad.”

Louis bent his head, groaned, and let out, “That would be suicidal for her. Meeting her parents with pregnancy outside wedlock is not what she wished to do.”

“That is all right. Don't be too hard on yourself, either. The deed had been done, and you have to stay alive to solve it. Just be positive,” the doctor advised. Then, Louis pouted his lips, and gave the doctor an acceptance look.

At Denise’s Apartment

Denise dropped her cup of tea by her side, and walked to the couch opposite her with his tea cup. Olivia looked at the tea by her side happily and looked at Denise, who was walking about to take his seat, before she appreciated, “Thank you, Denise.”

Now, Denise was already seated and sipped his tea, placed his tea cup back into the saucer that was on the side table before him, and replied, “Consider it as nothing. It is good for you, take it.”

Olivia began to sip her tea too. Then, Denise inquired, “You must be famished by now due to the prescription. What would you like to have for brunch?”

She gave him a warm smile, and declared, “Fruits will be enough for now. Thank you.”

“It is all right. Caleb,” he called out. Thereafter, Caleb, who was in the kitchen, appeared at once.

“Yes, boss. You called me,” he remarked.

“Yes. Do we have fruit at home?”

“Yes, boss. Mrs. Anderson brought some this morning.”

“That is good. Get some fruits for her.”

“Noted, boss.”

Caleb walked away and returned with a bowl of assorted fruits. He dropped it on the center table and returned to the kitchen, where he was preparing lunch. Then, Denise looked at Olivia and spoke, “You can have the fruits.”

“I'm grateful for this,” Olivia appreciated, took the last sip of her tea and after a while, she began to munch her fruits of watermelon with a skewer stick, and with an unimaginable appetite. Suddenly, she remembered the first day that she met Louis, and how he was by her side all through her stay in the hospital, and she began to sob uncontrollably. Then, she dropped her bowl of fruits on her couch, and bent her head while she wept. At that point, she was not mindful of her environment. It was as though she was bent on pouring out all her anguish at once.

Meanwhile, Denise, who was mindful of body contact, rested his head on the couch, and watched her cry while he fought hard to control the tears that were forming in his eyes from falling. When she calmed down, he looked at her with empathy and spoke, “You can cry freely. It will help you a lot to ease physical and emotional pains.”

Gradually, she calmed down, and dried her tears before she continued with her fruits. Likewise, they watched the Television in silence. Then, she began to feel sleepy, but Denise stopped her. At that point, he had no choice, but to do what was necessary.

“Angel, come with me to the dinner table,” he instructed, and she jolted forward when she heard him and looked at him. Howbeit, he was already standing. He walked to her side and helped her to get up.

“Get up. You need to have your drugs before you go to sleep.”

She obediently stood up, and followed him to the dining table. He made her to seat comfortably before he announced, “Give me some seconds.”

Thereafter, he walked to the shelf where Freya kept her drugs and card, and picked the drug bag, before he walked to the kitchen, and got a glass of water. Then, he walked back to the dinner table, and announced, “It is time for your prescription. I would not have you sleep off without taking your drugs.”

“I can't thank you enough, Denise. I'm so grateful,” she declared. Denise ignored her appreciation, and began to sort the drugs for her. She took them as prescribed. Subsequently, Denise took the pack away and returned with two plates of chips and fish with sauce. He dropped one plate in front of her and sat down opposite her to eat his. He observed that she had a heavy appetite and could finish her food. Immediately, he called out to Caleb, and instructed, “Caleb, get another plate for me.”

“All right boss.”

Just as Denise anticipated, before Caleb returned, Olivia's plate was empty. Denise collected the plate of food from Caleb and dropped it before Olivia, who showed surprise and wanted to protest.

“I am all …”.
