Chapter 252: Forced into a corner

A giant fist made of the strongest ice appeared in front of Kizaru and he reacted by lifting his knee and coating it with haki.

The impact created a shockwave that pushed sand everywhere.

Nami, who was watching from the sidelines had to take a few steps back and watch as Vivi and Kizaru exchanged hits.

Vivi's heavy blows seemed to give her the advantage as Kizaru was only defending himself. But if one were to look closer at his expression, they would notice how relaxed he seemed to be. Indicating that he didn't feel in danger at all, at the moment.

Nami decided that she had to do something. This did not look like a fight Vivi could win on her own.

With her weapon in hand, she started to create a series of clouds and wait for the opportune moment.

"Bamm!" after the loudest hit so far, Vivi was pushed away, her ice gauntlets looking to be cracked.

"Now is my chance!" Exclaimed Nami.

"Thunderbolt tempo…li-"

Nami froze when all of a sudden a sword appeared on her neck.

"Let's leave them to have their fight alone, Miss." A very calm voice said.

Nami moved her eyes and saw a big man with white eyes standing behind her.

'This is impossible, I didn't feel anyone approaching.'

She was not as good as Vivi, but her observation haki was developed enough to pick up anyone who got close to her.

This man was like a ghost, he appeared out of nowhere, which meant he was extremely dangerous. 

"Who are you?" Nami asked, hoping to create a small distraction to escape from his grasp but she was also curious about the identity of this man.

"Just an old man who recently joined the Marine ranks to do some good…Im no one important."

His white eyes turned to her.

"Is best if you don't try anything…I don't like hurting little girls."

Nami felt shivers, those empty eyes...it was like he was able to read her thoughts.

It was then that Vivi saw them. She saw the image of Admiral Fujitora holding his blade against Nami.

"Oh no…Nami!"

She was about to move in their direction when she was hit by a laser beam on her chest, piercing it and sending her tumbling backward while her blood stained the sand.

"You can't afford to look away, I'm afraid," Kizaru said with a small grin on his face.

"Sir!"

A group of marines came running to where Fujitora and Nami were standing.

"Admiral Fujitora!" The superior office called before looking at Nami.

"Oh!, you already captured one of them, Sir. That's the Cat Burglar Nami."

"Admiral?!" Nami felt her blood run cold. This man was also an Admiral? 

She ignored their conversation, her attention was with Vivi.

She was standing back up, the wound on her chest was closing but she was in obvious pain and breathing heavenly.

'Even if by some miracle Vivi manages to beat that Admiral…there is another one here…this can't be…'

The situation appeared to be hopeless for them. There was no way to win against opponents like these.

'If only Luffy and the others were to come here…'

But there was little hope of that. She knew that her Captain and teammates were all acting with the idea that Vivi was being held at the castle. No one knew they were on this beach.

"Should we go assist Admiral Kizaru?" asked one of the marines.

"I don't think that would be wise. Borsalino has a special interest in fighting this particular person…" Explained the Admiral.

"Wait!, are you implying that he is holding a grudge from when Vivi tossed him into the sea?" asked Nami.

"Oi!, don't talk like about Admiral Kizaru!" the marines became enraged.

"Enough." Fujitora rose the tone of his voice one notch. That was enough for everyone to stop.

"The pirate is not wrong. He may not show it, but he was quite…agitated after that day."

"Admiral Kizaru? but he always looks so relaxed. I cannot even imagine him…angry." A marine Captain commented.

"Yes, well. We are all humans. But make sure to never bring this up to him. " Recomentrd the blind Admiral.

The marines noted.

"So, we just wait here and do nothing?"

"Yes, I have no doubts he can win this by himself. I'm just here to make sure he doesn't forget our orders…but if you want to do something." 

he grabbed Nami by her arm and moved her closer to them.

"Put some cuffs on this one and make sure she doesn't escape. I have the feeling she is a slippery one."

"Yes sir!" Several marines grabbed Nami and put cuffs on her wrists.

Nami knew that resisting at this point, with the Admiral next to her, would be pointless. 

'I'll need to wait and find my chance…these cuffs won't hold me for long.' she thought after examining her restrains.

Back at the fight between Vivi and Kizaru, things were not looking good for the water pirate.

She had tried most of her weapons against him. Both long and short-range. But nothing seemed to work.

This was the first time in a long time that she had to face someone much faster than herself.

'I tried all of my melee weapons but I couldn't inflict any serious damage before he disappeared in a flash of light… long-range weapons are useless. The only ones I haven't tried are too slow anyway.'

She closed her eyes. Her skin had started to turn blue.

"Sight…okay. I don't like using this but you leave me no choice."

When she opened her eyes, they were completely white, he skin had turned semi-translucent and her blue hair started to change too.

Kizaru stopped some distance away and stared at her with interest.

"That's better…show me everything you got, Nefertari Vivi...then I will crush you!"
