The next morning, having slept for an entire afternoon and night, Vail felt revitalized. He ate a few times during this period, bringing his body back to normal.

Sitting on the bed, he contemplated how to get stronger. In his previous life, Vail admired the Swordsmen of the Pirate World, so he decided to start by learning swordsmanship, followed by body techniques.

Most importantly, he acknowledged the significance of Haki, particularly Busoshoku Haki. According to Vail, Kenbunshoku and Haoshoku were secondary, but Busoshoku was truly powerful. Examples like Zephyr and Garp, both relying on formidable Busoshoku Haki, demonstrated its strength. The former was an Admiral, and the latter was Roger's equal.

However, in his current 9-year-old body and the lack of stamina, learning Busoshoku was a distant dream. Starting with Sword Technique seemed more practical. It could also contribute to improving stamina.

Deciding to explore the swordhouses in Loguetown, Vail recognized that finding a teacher was unlikely at this point. Instead, he planned to start with the basics.

Although lacking the abilities of qigong, vitality, and Chakra, Vail, as a modern man who had witnessed the grand story of the Pirate World, knew how to try to get stronger and what constituted strength.

After greeting Reid downstairs, Vail went out to grasp the general situation of Loguetown.

In no time, a morning passed, and Vail, holding an unknown animal's large kebab and an unfamiliar fruit, strolled around the town, enjoying the delicacies.

Delighting in the flavors, he found himself at the edge of Loguetown. Turning back, he noticed a small swordhouse along the roadside.

It wasn't a grand establishment, just a simple plaque with three characters: Yijian Pavilion.

Having visited several swordhouses before that didn't meet his requirements, Vail decided to check this one out.

Upon entering, he found a small courtyard with around 10 children, a few sweating swordsmen, and some older youths. A strong man in his 20s approached him.

"Children, are you here to join the famed sword hall? Let me give you a tour," he warmly said.

Vail nodded and replied, "Yes, I want to join the famed sword hall. What are the requirements?"

The young man, named Kahn, smiled and said, "Our swordhouse is one of the best in Loguetown, and I was once a Marine Lieutenant. If you sign up, call me brother Kahn, and I'll take you to meet the teacher. By the way, what's the little brother's name?"

Observing the surroundings while answering, Vail replied, "My name is Vail, and I work at Reid's store."

Kahn, astonished, asked, "At such a young age, you're already working? That's impressive."

Vail smiled and explained, "With my family gone, I have to work. Luckily, I started at a very young age, learning a craft from an Uncle."

Kahn nodded understandingly, commenting on the chaotic state of the seas with increasing pirate activity.

Vail smiled in response, and they proceeded through the yard to a Japanese-style house.

Kahn respectfully knocked on the paper and wooden sliding door, announcing, "Master, there are new apprentices to sign up."

Shortly after, a steady voice permitted their entry. The room was simple, with 20 cushions neatly arranged. In the front row sat a powerful old man in a black kimono, Aduness Nice, the master of the famed sword hall.

Nice opened his eyes and asked Vail directly, "Do you want to learn the sword?"

Vail nodded, expressing his desire.

Nice didn't ask unnecessary questions and straightforwardly mentioned, "The tuition fee is 10,000 Berries per month, including accommodation and clothing."

Feeling a bit blindsided by the request, Vail pondered but directly agreed, "Sure, master. When can I start learning? My name is Vail."

Nice smiled, "Go with brother Kahn to complete the formalities. Class starts at 7 o'clock tomorrow morning. I'm Aduness Nice, you can call me Nice teacher or just Nice."

Vail nodded, bidding the teacher farewell, and followed Kahn.

In a nearby room, Vail paid 13,000 Berries, received a dress, a kenpachi, and a small wooden sign representing his apprenticeship. He then left the sword hall.

Shortly after Vail's departure, Nice summoned Kahn.

In the room, Nice instructed Kahn, "Do you know the background of the new apprentice? I'll go to town to inquire to avoid accepting someone we shouldn't."

Kahn respectfully replied, "Teacher, I asked. He works at Reid's store, and I don't know much about him. He's also an orphan. It should be fine, after all, he's just a kid."

Nice nodded, considering, "There's a chance, I'll go to Redna to check it out. If everything is in order, please accept him. Bart can handle the previous teachings, he's not very busy recently."

Kahn agreed and left the room.

In the room, Nice picked up a knife with a black handle and a scabbard adorned with purple dots and a Y-shaped black line. Looking at the knife, he whispered, "Where are you? I've searched for you my whole life and haven't found you. Are you still in the hands of my family?"
