Chapter 259 Repeating A Mistake

Getting to my room, I slammed the door behind. I was getting mad for no reason. I think I should understand him, I am thirty anyway and it's high time I get a life outside my parents. It has always been me for so long now and giving them space is what I should do.

I shrugged off my night robe and made to go inside the bathroom when my phone rang and it was Rosie. I thought of ignoring the call but it would be unfair to her.

I sighed and picked the call.

"Hello Ben"

She said soberly, it's obvious she has been crying and it's all my fault.

"Hi Rosie, how are you dear?"

I asked hoping to hear her say she is fine but I, myself, know she can't be.

"I am far from being fine, Benjamin. You broke up with me without a warning and you are hoping for me to be fine. You did not consider my feelings before saying no to a relationship that we almost built. Did I ever do something to make you treat me the way you are treating me? Is my fault that I fell in love with you?"

She lamented bitterly.

"No Rosie, you did nothing wrong. Some things are not meant to be and we are clearly not meant to be. I respect you so much and I would not want to lead you on anymore, that's why I had to tell you yesterday. Sorry I did not tell you I was still in love with my ex and she was never my ex anyway. I am sorry Rosie."

I said and her end went off and I knew right away that she had hung up the call.

The manner at which she hung the call got me thinking, this is not the Rosie I used to know. What happened to her? She changed since yesterday,I would say that the effect of the break up was still tailing her but something is off about her. I had noticed that before but I had turned a blind eye to it because I did not want to judge her wrong when I barely know her.

I sighed and shook my head, hoping she stays fine because I would not want anything to happen to her. I might not love her the way I love Nora but that does not mean I don't care about her.

I spent my worst week ever with her and I would be forever grateful to her. I hope she does not become my nightmare because I have heard about one's past being their nightmares.

Writer's point of view…..

A shadow of a woman was seen walking down the bushing path of the forest leading to an unknown route. The way she was walking easily without complaining of the thorns around shows that she has been doing this for a long time.

The aura surrounding her was of pure death. She smells like death itself in the sense that the creatures of the under shivers at the mere sight of her without her doing anything, she derives joy from scenes like this and with that it makes her believe that she is always in charge but is that true?. Does she know that someone is always a step ahead of her?.

She finally got to her destination after a long walk and walked into a hut that has not been used for years with just a look but in the real sense, the hut does more than it represents. It looks drives away intruders making the activities done inside to be hidden from the eyes of men.

"What took you so long to arrive here?"

A voice asked and she bowed.

"I am sorry mistress, I was cut up with the early morning activities that's why I had to arrive late. Pardon me"

The lady who just arrived pleaded.

"I have had you work for me for years and I had trusted your loyalty, hoping you are not planning on stabbing me in the back. You know what I can do, I don't spare my offenders"

The voice said with a lot of venoms

"Of Course mistress,I don't intend to stab you. You know my loyalty lies with you and I would not betray the trust you have on me. We are this to the end."

The lady said and bowed again.

"Alright, I have heard you. Just be my eyes and let me know what goes on between them in that way we will know how to strike"

The voice said again. The lady nodded in understanding and bowed for the last time and walked out of the hut with the meanest look ever. She scrutinized the area before walking away.

The little boy stood at a corner watching her, he smiled and shook his head.

"I will always be a step ahead of you, you think you are wise but your foolishness will be the end of you. Repeating a mistake is unpardonable so get ready to rot in my wrath."

The little boy who has been tailing on her said and disappeared.
