One Man Plot

Mobs, Background characters, minor villains, minor supporting characters, recurring favourites, the main cast... That is the MC’s responsibility now. Tossed into a fantasy world with the ability to create a variety of memorable characters, the MC must help find the real main cast of the world and forge them into world class figures. Cover art is by JasonTN I believe. If you are him and wish for me to remove the cover, feel free to do so.

Prelude To Chaos

Original ideas have been a rare find in a world such as ours. Countless men and women copy and paste other people's works and claim it as their own. The premise is the same and the characters are just as equally dull as the last. There is a singular main character and a cast of trash to be thrown to the side when the protagonist is powerful enough to no longer rely on them, or the main character never actually needs them in the first place.

It takes more than just one character to create a plot. The trend of the cultivation god, the isekai NEET... the forefathers of the genre created complex characters with care only for the next generation to rinse and repeat whatever was given before them. Characters progressively get worse and worse, a shadow of those that came before.

It gets worse to the point where there is simply nothing else to read. Everyone knows what will happen next. When a story is predictable, it is no longer worth reading.

To give one man the power to affect the course of an entire world is something that has come up often. But it can always be done differently, just watch.

"Curt, mind helping me out with a question?"

It was a normal day of high school for Curtis. The sky was blue and a friend had called out to him for some assistance with math. There was nothing much to look over.

Curtis walked over to his friend and glared at the paper from behind his friend's shoulder and frowned. "Jun, come on, you would understand this if you just did your homework." He groaned in annoyance.

"Sure I could have wasted away a few hours of game time to do some math homework but then I wouldn't be a diamond." His friend smirked with pride. Hours and hours of hard work in the digital world had earned him a comfortably high rank in his favourite shooter game. Flexing his rank was all he really had in retrospect.

Curtis had good social skills, he had enough friends in class for him to not be considered an outcast. Yet he was not popular enough to be treated like a prince. He was fine with his situation. His life was normal and he rather enjoyed it.

He spent his free time doing a variety of different activities. Sometimes Curt would game with his friends, play a sport, practice martial arts, or just leisure around. He was by no means a genius though, he was an all rounder, a master of none. He was reliable when it counted and people respected him for it.

But all of the things he had built up until now would be put to the test. The jarring reality of his existence is that he was never meant to stay in this world, neither were most of his classmates.

RUMBLE

"Hey, do you feel that...? I swear something in the ground is wobbling." Curtis shivered. The ground shook from under. Something about this made his forehead moisten. His eyes darted left and right as the rumbling got louder.

"EARTHQUAKE!" A student rolled underneath a table and brace themselves for what they assumed would be a world of pain.

However, this situation was different.

The light coming from the outside turned red and a flash of light enveloped everyone's view until nothing was left for them to see.

'I can't see! What in the world?!' Curtis' vision turn blank.

'...'

"Wake up! This is a damn war zone! NO TIME FOR DOZING OFF ROOKIE!"

BOOM

"AAAAH!"

Curtis' vision finally came back to him in the most shocking scenario. He felt his back drenched in something, there was the smell of iron and crimson staining his vision. It smelled absolutely horrid. Yet the sound was worse.

"What?" In his grip was something straight out of a fantasy game. He was wielding sharp steel, a weapon to take off heads. His body was clad in leather and his vision was obscured by blood. Everything was moving to fast, too many screams- to many people falling in front of him.

'This is a battlefield!' His quick thinking finally kicked in. He gripped his sword with his shaky hands and got back on his feet. Now he could vaguely tell what was happening. He could see what seemed to be the opposing force advancing at the front side. He must have been knocked down at some point. There was literally no time to think of how he ended up here so he resolved himself to defending himself. There was nothing to question.

So you could say this is a writing exercise for me to get my creative juices running again. It has definitely even a while. While this may not be my main project as I have MGV to return to, I hope you give this a read. You never know, I might regularly update this given motivation.
