One Last Merchant

Magic is not real. Monster that defy logics should not exist. Yet, I cannot refute what is before my very eyes. What my mangled body has told me through painful experiences. What my dying mind has comprehended with my last willpower. The world that I have once lived in changed abruptly one day, and the new era dawned for the human race. It is done by the hands of those who are known as Rulers. They call it mercy, but I know it is a game to them. If they truly wish to help the human race, then there surely a better way than sacrificing billions to uplift the selected few. The Zoning Events was set in stone, and the dimensional barrier collapses, allowing the monsters that we could never hope to defeat with our current technology to enter our universe. Allowing horrifying worlds and landscapes to merge with our own. And through blood, sweat, and fear, we understand that our science cannot truly surpass the natural law of the universe. Only through magic, the human race might survive. Only through magic, a better future can be reached. Everything has its price, and no price is too great for the second chance. This is the story of the last Merchant. One Last Merchant. *** Disclaimer: This story contains graphical sex scenes and depictions of torture! Please enjoy! When in Rome

It is not really a surprise, as there are many forms of magic, and it is impossible to learn them all since some forms of magic will come in direct conflict with another, forcing the practitioner to choose either one or the other.

The same can be said for Spiritual Power, as there are plenty of Cultivation methods out there. Luckily, all paths do lead towards the same goal.

Some paths are just unnecessarily longer and more difficult than the other.

In any case, I am aware of Minas Magic, as it was mentioned to me in passing. Sadly though, I haven't had the pleasure of meeting and conversing with a living and breathing Minasian Mage until now.

And that was because all the Minasian Mage were dead by the time that I was actually strong enough to walk amongst the stars. While I do not know what had happened to them and their world of origin, I do know that they were all killed.

That is somewhat interesting, considering that the Minasian do have at least one patron God.

"Interesting," I voice my thought. "Can you use Minas Magic?"

Alex shrugs. "No idea, as I have not gone through the Initiation yet. I will in about a week time if I have not had a heart attack by then. The Initiation will help me gather all the mana in my body to form what you call a Mana Sea. The size, depth and color of the Mana Sea will determine my future."

I nod in understanding even though I am already aware of the facts. "Is that how your butler can pick you off the ground without breaking a sweat? Never got his name by the way, and I wonder if I should or not."

"Dario. That's his name. He has served my late mother, and after her passing, he serves me. He is fairly loyal, at least from my memory," Alex answers. "He isn't considered as a Sorcerer though. That is what they call mages here. He is considered a Warrior."

It is coming back to me, but I still look at Alex questioningly, as I do expect him to explain what Sorcerer and Warrior are. It is only natural, considering that I should know about Minasian yet.

Alex looks at me before sighing. "Okay, it is like this. Once you go through the Initiation, you are either able to gather all the mana in your body to form your mana or not. If you cannot, you are known as a failure and will be treated as such. And if you are able to form your Mana Sea, you will become either a Sorcerer or a Warrior. Being Sorcerer is obviously better, but only a handful of people each Initiation become Sorcerers. I am expected to become one."

"Oh," I simply response. "Then let make sure you will become a Sorcerer then. But first, let lose some fucking weight."

Alex wholly agrees, and thus for the next few hours, I continuously use my magic to burn off as much fat inside his body as possible. While it costs a lot of Mana Crystals to do so, it does improve my Magical Proficiency. I am still going to bill Alex for this, however.

"Thanks a lot, Zan," Alex responses afterwards. "By the way, you should take off your gasmask. It might raise a lot of questions. You should also change into something else as well. Also, my name is Evan."

"Okay, Evan," I response and take off my gasmask. "I'm not going to change my name even if I am not in my actual body, but to each his own. What shall my fabricated background be?"

I hope that you enjoy the chapter.
