Journey Start

Tora and Izuku were having another sleepover. But this time it was at her place. Both of them were sound asleep in each other's arms until Tora's alarm clock went off at 4:00 AM. Izuku sleepily opened his eyes and sat up to stretch, shortly after followed by Tora.

"Good morning Tora."

"Good morning Izuku. Did you sleep well?" Tora greeted and asked Izuku who nodded his head.

"Yeah I did. I slept really well. The only times I've had such peaceful slumbers is during our sleepovers. It seems like I have the best quality sleep whenever I'm next to you." Izuku said as Tora blushed.

"Anyways lets get ready. We have to meet All Might at 4:55. That's when the sun starts to rise." Tora said as Izuku nodded in agreement.

"Right! We don't want to be late." Izuku said as he and Tora got dressed, facing away from each other to give one another privacy. Once they were dressed, they headed to the kitchen to eat breakfast. The smell of pancakes, maple syrup and bacon started to fill the apartment. When Tora and Izuku entered the kitchen/dining area, they saw Tora's mother cooking breakfast.

"Mom? What are you doing up so early in the morning?" Tora asked her mother. She turned around and smiled at the two teens.

"Well good morning you two! I'm making breakfast for you, of course. You need a good meal before you leave, right?" Tora's mother said as she turned her attention back to her cooking.

"Yeah, I guess you're right. Is Dad up too?" Tora asked her mother who was humming while she cooked.

"Mm actually yes. He had an emergency call from his hero agency, so he's out working." Tora's mother answered her. Tora's father, or the Wildlife Hero: AniMaster, was a fairly popular hero as she just found out two days ago. Although, she should've expected it. Her father's quirk, personality and core values made him an excellent asset to the hero profession. He could summon up to five different animal species at once, and had the ability to communicate and control them. As long as there weren't more than five different species, he could summon multiple groups of animals. He could take complete control over the animals he summoned, but due to his personality and values he preferred to communicate and work with them instead of take over them. He only used the take over feature of his quirk for extremely stubborn and non-compliant animals. If circumstances allowed it, he'd swap out an animal or animals if they were not willing to work with him. If he was called to a scene at this hour, it must have been pretty serious. Tora hoped her dad was going to be okay. But the smell of food drew her away from those thoughts.

"Okay, breakfast is ready!" Tora's mother announced as she placed plates of food in front of Tora and Izuku.

"Thank you for the meal Akira-san! This looks delicious. We really appreciate it." Izuku thanked Tora's mother and Tora nodded her head in agreement since her mouth was already full.

"Just let me know if you want more, okay?" Tora's mother said as the two teens just nodded their heads, both their mouths full now. Tora's mom chuckled then walked over to the living room, sat down and picked up a book to read. Tora and Izuku ate the rest of their breakfast then went to go brush their teeth and then headed out. They arrived at Dagoba Municipal Beach Park to see All Might waiting for them there in his muscular form. He sat on an old fridge that he had tied ropes around and told Izuku to haul it further up the shore. Izuku slung the ropes attached to the fridge over his shoulders and tried to move it. He struggled until he slipped and fell.

"Hey, hey, hey! It's pretty comfy up on this fridge. How're you doing down there? People move these every day, you know. And most of them don't have any super strength." All Might said to Izuku.

"Well yeah but there's an extra 600 pounds with you sitting on top of it." Izuku made his remark, propping himself up.

"Nah, I've lost weight so I'm down to 560 these days. In this form at least." All Might corrected Izuku who just sighed.

"Great, much better. What are you having me dragging trash across the beach anyway?" Izuku said, starting out with sarcasm.

"Ha ha ha, take a look at yourself. You're not ready for my power." All Might said as he snapped multiple photos of Izuku on the ground.

"Ah?! But I thought you said I was worthy! Waaah!" Izuku said as he freaked out despairingly.

"I'm talking about your weak body. My quirk, One For All, is a whole lot to handle. The combined physical abilities of everyone who has ever used it creates a hurricane of pure force. An unprepared body can't fully inherit it. Your arms and legs would shoot off if you tried to. But your friend here is probably strong enough to inherit it right now, actually." All Might said as he pointed at Tora who was taken by surprise at his words. In the moment, Izuku totally forgot that Tora was the national champion in both gymnastics and mixed martial arts. One needs a lot of strength to earn and defend that title for as long as she has.

"Seriously?! Okay, so this whole trash thing is really like some kind of hardcore gym workout and... you're my trainer." Izuku said as All Might went on to explain another reason why he wanted him to haul trash across the beach. The beach was once beautiful but now is littered with trash. And Izuku added how all the trash ended up on the shoreline. All Might then told Izuku he wanted him to clear off a huge section of the beach as his first step to becoming a hero which Izuku said was impossible.

"Young Midoriya, you want to go to U.A. right?" All Might asked Izuku to which he replied yes because it must be the best hero school around since All Might graduated from there. That's why he wanted to attend U.A. High. All Might admired Izuku's spirit then reiterated what he has said before about being a pro hero wasn't easy without a quirk and that U.A. High's hero course is the hardest to get into. Izuku put all the pieces together and figured out that he had to prepare his body quickly to be able to receive All Might's quirk before U.A. High's entrance exam in ten months. All Might had already prepared a training regimen that even included Izuku's sleep schedule. Then All Might leaned in close to Izuku and cupped his hand to his ear.

"If I'm being honest, this is gonna be super hard. Think you're up to it?" All Might admitted and asked Izuku who said he was willing to commit to the schedule. All Might pulled away with a proud look on his face, seeing Izuku's determination. Then Tora transformed into a gray wolf anthropomorphic form and got close to Izuku.

"When you finish all this and get into U.A. High, let's do something special together to celebrate. Remember my promise?" Tora whispered seductively in Izuku's ear, making his entire face turn red. Izuku knew exactly what she was talking about: getting intimate while she used her quirk to satisfy his furry fetish. This strangely motivated Izuku even more. Over the next seven months, Tora accompanied Izuku to the beach and other workout sessions to prepare himself to receive All Might's Quirk, One For All. She was tempted to help him with clearing the beach, but she figured that would defeat the entire purpose of the task. So she worked on her own quirk that recently manifested while Izuku worked his ass off training on the beach. Tora would give him words of encouragement along with All Might while she also trained. She trained by transforming into various species in all three forms to test her limits and surpass them. Her species limit when she got her quirk was 30, which was her mother's object limit when her Inanimate Transformation quirk first manifested. She could turn into 30 different species of animals in all three forms. Her species count would reset in 24 hours after first using it. If she transformed into a procambarus clarkii crayfish and then a procambarus alleni crayfish, two similar animals yet two different species, she would've basically wasted a "slot" so to speak. Because of that, Tora wanted to raise that limit as much as possible. Her goal was to raise it to at least 70 (her mother's current object limit) by the time her first year of high school was over. Anyways, there were three months left until U.A. High's entrance exam and Izuku was showing signs of being overworked. All Might was inspired by his unwavering determination and vowed to help him get back on track.

~Time Skip: 2 Months~

There was now one month until U.A. High's entrance exam. During the past nine months that Izuku and Tora had been training and studying, Tora had managed to raise her quirk's species limit to 35. All Might noticed how hard Tora was working along with Izuku and how much she had improved in such a short amount of time. So he decided to do something special for her. One morning while Izuku was hauling trash on the beach, All Might pulled Tora aside to talk to her.

"May I speak with you Miss Hinode?" All Might asked Tora who looked at him with a puzzled expression on her face.

"My focus is getting Young Midoriya fit enough to handle my quirk. But I couldn't help but notice how hard you're working to improve yourself when accompanying us here on the beach." All Might said as Tora raised an eyebrow, curious to see where this was going.

"Well I have to work hard too because I just got my quirk nine months ago... actually I just got it the day you offered to pass on your quirk to Izuku. I need to get used to my quirk and learn about it as quickly as possible. Getting my quirk at age fifteen, I've had my quirk for less than a year while everyone else in my grade has had theirs for ten to eleven years." Tora answered the world's number one hero.

"I like your spirit, kid! What's your current species limit verses when your quirk first manifested?" All Might asked Tora. She had told him everything she knew about her quirk, including her species limit. But she hadn't told him the specific numbers.

"My species limit was at 30 when I started. It's at 35 now. My mom's Inanimate Transformation quirk's object limit was at 30 when it first manifested as well. Her object limit is currently at 70. My minimum goal is to raise my species limit to 70 by the time I finish my first year of high school. I know it's a bit of a stretch since that's my mom's current limit and she's had her hero license since before I was born. But I want to shoot for the moon too, just like Izuku." Tora explained to All Might who laughed heartily as he buffed up into his muscular form.

"Ha ha ha! That's quite impressive! Since you've improved so much on your own in this short period of time, I'm willing to recommend you to U.A. High as a reward for your efforts." The hero Tora admired so much said to her as her face lit up in excitement.

"Wow really?! You'd really do that for me?!" Tora asked All Might for confirmation of what she just heard. All Might nodded his head.

"Of course Miss Hinode! You're working hard just like Young Midoriya over there and have improved substantially." All Might replied to Tora as he pointed at Izuku who was busy dragging an old stove across the beach.

"Thank you so much All Might! You have no idea how much it means to me to have my idol hero recommend me to my dream high school!" Tora said excitedly to the world's number one hero who just laughed heartily again.

~Time Skip~

After school, Tora and Izuku were walking home together like they always did. They were almost to their apartments talking about their day when Tora remembered what All Might said to her earlier that day.

"Oh guess what, Izuku. This morning, All Might told me he'd be my official recommendation to U.A. High!" Tora said excitedly, beaming at Izuku.

"Really?! That's so cool Tora! You really are amazing, you know that?" Izuku said as Tora giggled in response.

"Aww you're so sweet Izuku! Like a little cinnamon roll." Tora said as she cupped his face and gave him a quick kiss on the lips. Izuku blushed profusely after Tora pulled away. When they got home Tora and Izuku had a study session at Izuku's place and then worked out together a little before going to bed. Izuku's mother allowed for Tora to spend the night again.

~Time Skip: 1 Month~

It was February 26, the morning of the U.A. High Entrance Exam and Izuku just finished moving the last piece of trash on the beach. Tora was there in her gray anthro wolf form watching proudly as Izuku roared with triumph. All Might joined her and stood next to her, impressed that Izuku even managed to clean the beach outside the area he told him to do. All Might went over to congratulate Izuku on completing the first step on his journey to becoming a pro hero. Then he gave him the reward he worked so hard for: his quirk, One For All. Izuku was surprised and a little grossed out that he had to eat a strand of All Might's hair to receive his quirk, but he swallowed it up (literally) so that he and Tora wouldn't be late for U.A. High's entrance exam. Shortly after they got there, Izuku tripped and was saved by a girl with brown hair and eyes. She used her quirk to make him float, preventing him from falling flat on his face on the sidewalk. After that he seemed dazed by the fact that a girl other than Tora talked to him.

"Izuku... hey Izuku." Tora said to get Izuku's attention. Her voice snapped him out of his trance.

"Yeah, what is it Tora?" Izuku said as Tora shook her head and sighed.

"I'm heading over to a different section of the school for the students with recommendations. I'll see you later, okay?" Tora said to Izuku who looked a little disappointed and a bit nervous.

"What's wrong Izuku?" Tora asked her boyfriend/childhood best friend. She could sense something was a little off with him.

"Oh well it's just we were in a hurry to get here so I wasn't able to test out my new power yet. I'm kinda worried about the practical exam." Izuku said as Tora placed her hands on his shoulders.

"I'm sure you'll do fine. After all, you have All Might's quirk now. And you have me cheering you on from wherever I am." Tora said cheerfully, but quietly. She figured that it wouldn't be good for other people to overhear that Izuku had All Might's quirk: One For All.

"Yeah you're right. I have nothing to worry about." Izuku said as Tora smiled at him.

"That's the spirit. Now go get 'em!" Tora said as she clapped Izuku on the back. Then they parted ways to take their entrance exams. Tora and Izuku took their written exams then went on to their practical exams. Tora used her quirk and physical prowess to speed through the obstacle course and ended up tying with Yoarashi Inasa for first place in the race, getting the same exact finish time. Izuku scored 0 villain points in the practical exam. After the practical exams were over, Izuku's entrance exam was done but Tora's wasn't. She still had to attend an interview. Izuku waited for her at the entrance until her interview was done. Then they walked home together and discussed how their exams went.

"For my practical exam, we had to race through an obstacle course using our quirks and any other skills at our disposal. I tied for first place with this guy named Yoarashi Inasa. We got the exact same finish time. And I'm pretty sure I aced the written test and killed the interview. What about you Izuku?" Tora said as Izuku lowered his head.

"I think I did okay on the written test, but I got 0 points on the practical exam. We had to destroy robots to earn points for the exam. The huge robot I destroyed wasn't worth any points. And that girl that saved me from falling earlier saved me from landing harshly on the concrete after I saved her from that giant robot. I also broke both my legs and one of my arms because of One For All. Apparently the school nurse, Recovery Girl, healed my injuries after I passed out. Thanks to her, I'm able to walk home with you. I'm pretty sure I bombed the practical exam." Izuku said as Tora rubbed his back in a comforting manner.

"Aww I'm sorry Izuku. But I'm positive you'll get in. That rescue had to count for something." Tora said, trying to cheer Izuku up.

"Yeah maybe. But we won't know for another week." Izuku pointed out as he and Tora continued to walk home together.
