Chapter 151 - Jeju Island Raid 5

The booming sound echoed through the battlefield where only a streak of light was seen. The surrounding buildings slices and crumbles to dust as the battle continues. Those watching were speechless at how powerful these individuals were. 

'Will I ever get to that point?'

Cha Hae-in thought to herself and began doubting herself if she will stand with Ryuu when there are so many strong women already in relationship with him.

'Are they even human!?'

Tawata thought to herself watching the video clip dumbfounded the more she watched the footage. She knew that they were A rank from the way she senses their mana but yet it is beyond an S rank. 

The reason for it is that most are increasing their mana control letting them utilize most of what they have. If she had the same then her power would be a lot stronger. 

'Should I join them…'

She thought to herself interested in what kind of training they're doing to have such power. 

Back in the battlefield, the insect monarch summoned even more insects while producing poison that is being countered by Shinobu's own poison to help her allies nullify each other.

Justine confronted her opponent, striking her conjuration, easily shattering them and every moment her body was adapting, growing even further than before. 

She was able to caught the insect by suprised by her newly increased speed and strike her straight into the faces sending her several meters before stopping sending poisonous needles towards them but Mitsuri arrive using her blades behind her to deflect them before using the chain blade towards the insect monarch only to be block by a carapace that the insect monarch had created. 

The insect monarch began to transform into an insectoid humanoid creature forming spider legs behind her and grasshopper legs allowing her to increase her speed even further than before and razor sharp claws. 

{ I'm done playing human! It's time to die! }

She roared, vanishing from her spot toward Shinobu who deflected her spider legs while her sister arrived to assist her. The two were barely able to keep up with her speed and coordinated legs where each clash sent waves of energy in the surrounding that sliced through the building. 

They were redirecting her attacks, sending the force into another target. The insect monarch laughed seeing them slowly being overwhelmed only to sense danger when Mitsuri sent her blade construct flying towards her that distracted her enough for Justine to appear and strike her with a flurry of punches crying her carapace causing her to cough up blood. 

{ Damn you humans!! }

She cursed feeling the immense pain coursing through her body but her pride didn't allow her to die and instantly regenerated before using her spider legs stabbing Justine who barely caught the attack getting into her stomach rather deep but didn't faze her and broke the legs before stepping back.

"Justine, are you alright!?"

Mitsuri shouted, allowing the Insect monarch to appear beside her and strike her with her massive arms construct that sent her flying to one of the buildings. Shinobu and Kanae became worried but the unrelenting Insect monarch didn't allow them to help.

{ You two shouldn't be worried because you two will be next! }

She sadistically laughed before rushing towards them as Kanae summoned thick roots from the ground trying to stop her but everything was easily sliced by the insect monarch's sharp claws. 

Shinobu then used some Kido to restrain her but to no avail as she was too strong. She has no choice but to continue fighting till the end. 

{ Do you now understand the difference between our power!? This is the power of a higher being humans! }

Insect monarchs mock them as she kept her attack extending the spider legs to attack them yet something inside made her feel uneasy. She couldn't pinpoint what it was but something dangerous was coming.

'Am I getting scared because of this pesky human!?'

She thought to herself feeling the utmost shame for feeling uneasy when faced against a weak creature who hadn't even lived a small portion of her own life. 

{ Give up, human and accept the inevitable!! }

Insect monarch screamed until she saw Shinobu and Kanae's eyes didn't even falter facing such an unstoppable force in front of them. 

"Justine is right, you talk too much."

Shinobu vanished wielding her blade that changed its hue into purplish red spewing with unknown substance before her weapon sliced through the insect monarch spider legs and part of her arms causing her to scream in pain.

Meanwhile, Kanae summoned a petal around her that was extremely razor sharp that made the insect monarch to scream even more as it felt her body being injured and was confused why she felt weak.

"It took some time but my poison is different from what you anticipated. Do you think my poison cannot poison you because you're immune? It took some time but they always have a way. That is what my Shikai is."

Her Zanpakuto isn't like Mayuri Kurotsuchi as her Shikai is a type of poison that will evolve, change and reform until finding the right combination will affect even those who have poison nullification.

Her Shikai is capable of applying poison onto anything and everything. Physically, this can apply to both organic and inorganic matter, such as poisoning a cyborg or armor, causing them to weaken and die. 

Even intangible energy such as fire and electricity can be poisoned by this ability. Conceptually, this can affect such of space-time or laws of physics, weakening and destroying them. Poison Immunity cannot stop this ability from being applied.

In addition, this power can inflict a more generalized, metaphorical type of poisoning, where a bad influence can be introduced and slowly build up within a system at an imperceptible rate, until it reaches a threshold that it cripples the system and cause it to ceased to function or exists, effectively 'killing' the system in question.

This is how powerful her poison is. It is the poison of reality. The law of the universe can be the immune system while her poison bypasses that. 

Though it has some limitations like the metaphorical versions are usually hard to notice until too late, since they operate at a complex, dynamical system level, where individual systems are treated like individuals instead of being composed of many components, and thus not readily made aware.

Metaphorical versions may also not necessarily be fast acting poisons as it takes time for a detrimental influence in a system to build up and shut it down.

Regardless, she isn't the Kodoku no Hime for nothing.

{ What!? How can this be! Gaaah! }

Her body began to crumble, feeling the effect of the poison that bypassed conventional means. For the first time the Insect monarch felt immense pain like everything was on fire. 

"Jeez now my shirt is ruined."

The insect monarch was surprised when she found Justine arriving with her ribs showing. She was able to regenerate quite easily thanks to her adaptability and empowerment. 

"Sorry, I got careless. I've been trying my best to hold back but it seems I can't anymore."

Mitsuri arrives summoning her familiar fairy where behind her were a pair of fairy wings. It acts like a spirit that helped increase her power in Fairy Magic. She and Justine then ready themselves before vanishing and appear on the other side of the insect monarch who screamed in pain as Justine strikes her a flurry of techniques from karate chops to kicks while Mitsuri dances slicing through her skin. 

{ Gaaah!! I refused to die here!!!  }

The insect monarch roared trying to cancel the poison and regenerated. She managed to regain some of power and attack them but it was too slow and predictable that Kanae went and finished her off by chopping her body to pieces and decapitating her from the habit of killing demons.

"Jeez, did you really need to slice her head clean off?"

Justine felt a bit disgusted while watching her body crumble leaving a small stone on the ground.

"Here Shinobu."

She tossed the Insect monarch Rune stone as it was compatible for her body. Shinobu caught the stone before storing it into her pocket for later.

"Why didn't you use it?"

Justine asked, walking towards them.

"It's still early and better to do it once we select our next job. Anyway we're done here, let's help the others."

Everyone nodded looking into the distance where fighting continued.
