Chapter 1: The Tragedy

The sun had set, casting long shadows across the empty schoolyard. Takuya stood alone, staring at the cold, lifeless building that had once been filled with laughter and friendship. But now, it was a haunting reminder of the tragedy that had befallen his family.

It had been three months since the incident that changed everything. Takuya's younger brother, Hiroki, had been involved in a fatal accident at school. The details were still unclear, but Takuya couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to his brother's death than met the eye.

Grief weighed heavy on Takuya's heart as he remembered the last time he saw Hiroki alive. They had argued over something trivial, as siblings often do, but now Takuya would give anything to take it all back.

The next morning, Takuya woke to find himself strangely drawn to his brother's former school. It was as though an invisible force was pulling him towards the place where it all began. As he approached the school gates, a chill ran down Takuya's spine. He could sense something watching him from the shadows, a presence that sent shivers down his spine. But instead of feeling afraid, Takuya felt strangely drawn to it.

"Who's there?" he called out, his voice echoing in the stillness of the morning.

No answer came, but Takuya could feel the presence drawing closer, its darkness intertwining with his own. And then, suddenly, it was there before him—a figure cloaked in shadow, its eyes burning with an otherworldly glow.

"I am your shadow self," it whispered, its voice like a serpent's hiss. "I am the darkness that lurks within you, the part of you that you fear and deny."

Takuya's heart pounded in his chest as he stared at the ominous figure before him. He knew he should be afraid, but instead, he felt a strange sense of familiarity, as though he had known this shadow all his life.

"What do you want from me?" Takuya asked, his voice trembling with fear and uncertainty.

"I want to help you," the shadow replied, its voice echoing in Takuya's mind. "I want to show you the truth behind your brother's death, and together, we will seek vengeance on those who wronged him."

Takuya hesitated, unsure whether to trust the shadow that stood before him. But deep down, he knew that he could no longer ignore the darkness that lurked within him. With a sense of determination, he made a decision that would change the course of his life forever.
