RA 12: National Diet and Nutrition Act

Section 1. Title

This Act shall be known as the "National Diet and Nutrition Act of 2024."

Section 2. Purpose

The purpose of this Act is to reduce obesity and nutritional deficiencies in Reichland by implementing a national dietary plan. It outlines the responsibilities of the Reichland government in facilitating and enforcing this plan and specifies penalties for non-compliance.

Section 3. Guidelines for Creating and Implementing the National Dietary Plan

Criteria for creating and implementing the national dietary plan, including identifying processed foods, setting caloric limits, establishing nutrition label and marketing standards, creating a national nutritional menu, and launching educational campaigns for consumers and food service providers, shall be defined.

Section 4. Requirements for Food Service Providers

Guidelines for food service providers to adhere to the national dietary plan, including offering healthy menu options, providing accurate nutritional information, labeling food items with calorie and nutritional content, and promoting healthy food options in grocery stores and supermarkets, shall be outlined.

Section 5. Criteria for the Food Industry

Criteria for the food industry to implement the national dietary plan, including developing healthier food options, accurately labeling ingredients and nutritional facts, using calorie information on packaging, and setting healthy portion sizes, shall be established.

Section 6. Guidelines for Educational Institutions

Guidelines for educational institutions at all levels to incorporate the national dietary plan, including integrating nutrition and calorie information into school curriculums, meal programs, and educational food services, shall be provided.

Section 7. Guidelines for Food Advertising and Marketing

Guidelines for food advertising, marketing, and promotion establishments to implement the national dietary plan, including displaying nutritional and calorie information in advertisements and on product labels, shall be established.

Section 8. Responsibilities of Food Manufacturers

Responsibilities of food manufacturers to comply with the national dietary plan, including developing dietary information on product packaging, adhering to nutritional standards for processed and packaged foods, and ensuring ingredient transparency, shall be outlined.

Section 9. Responsibilities of Food Safety and Regulatory Agencies

Responsibilities of food safety and regulatory agencies in enforcing the national dietary plan, including monitoring nutritional information on labels, evaluating the food supply chain, and ensuring compliance with food safety regulations, shall be defined.

Section 10. Guidelines for Public Health Agencies and Healthcare Providers

Guidelines for public health agencies and healthcare providers to support the national dietary plan, including developing nutrition and health education for the public, providing calorie information for meal planning, and offering nutritional information in healthcare facilities, shall be established.

Section 11. Criteria for Media Outlets

Criteria for media outlets to implement the national dietary plan, including providing nutritional and calorie information in print and digital media, at food-themed events, and in food publications, shall be defined.

Section 12. Guidelines for Food-Related Entertainment Venues

Guidelines for food-related entertainment venues to comply with the national dietary plan, including offering nutritional information on food items and at food-themed events and venues, shall be provided.

Section 13. Penalties

Penalties for violating the regulations of this Act:

- First offense: Not less than $50,000.

- Second offense: Not less than $100,000.

- Subsequent offenses: Not less than $200,000. Additional penalties may include mandatory nutrition education, business license suspension or revocation, and criminal prosecution.

Section 14. Effectivity

This Act shall take effect immediately after its approval.
