Of Fire and Stardust

[MATURE CONTENT] Updates on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Two main protagonists, twins. Four point of views. ||| "What did you saw in your vision, my love? You are making me anxious." Sobbing, she hugged him, wetting his shoulders, which she never did, since he was usually the cry baby in their relationship, so he knew shit was serious, "Death." "What?" He choked on air. "That can't be true. We'll fight it, Cece. We'll go through anything. We won't fall. No one can kill us!" "I saw death, Sol. We have three days. It's… it's inevitable. We'll be overpowered, and destruction will spread through our lands like a wild fire. Everything… everything will be destroyed!" She cried. Only then he understood he felt from his wife since she had the damned vision. At that moment, he wished with all his heart that she had the gift of only seeing the past, instead of both the past and the future. "That can't be, Cece. We…" He touched his forehead on hers, his tears rolling down, mirroring hers. "Our daughters… what are we going to do?" "We have to hide them, Sol. Hide them away of any fae that could possibly find them. If they do, it'll be bad. They always hated us for being so strong. And their fear will be our doom," her arms hugged him tighter, and held her with the same intensity. "Strong fae such as us unlock their powers at a young age, Cece. If we have to hide them, we'll have to lock their powers away for at least 19 years. The Academy only takes in 18-year-old fae, they never take someone who's supposed to be in the second year. So, they won't be able to link them to us." In a second, Sir Gavin knocked and came in with the two baby girls, and handed them to their parents with all the care in the world, then he bowed 90° and left. "Sun God above," Queen Celeste muttered as she took Asteria in her arms. "She looks angelic and different." King Solis nodded, already loving the two babies with all his heart, "She has both our eyes. The left is silver like yours, the right is golden like mine. Her hair will grow to be mainly ebony as mine, but with this," he pointed at it softly, "small streak in the right frontal top being snowy white like your hair," then his eyes traveled to Zephyra, "while this little one has both silver-ish grey eyes and her entire hair will be ebony." The Queen bit her bottom lip, trying not to cry, then took off her top, so the babies would be able to each drink from one of her breasts. "I… I wish none of that would happen, Sol," she did her best not to cry, but the King could feel how the pain was consuming her. He was feeling the same way. "Me neither, my love. All I wanted was for us to be with them, watch them grown, and give them our all. It hurts to think about the future that awaits for us. But we can't be reckless, you are right. We may fall but we'll fall fighting, and we can't let anything happen to them," he caressed his daughters head softly, almost not touching because their skin was still too sensible. "We'll do our best to protect them," she agreed, closing her eyes and letting her tears fall again. She wasn't someone who cried that much, but the pain was too much. The knowledge breaking her, reaping her heart to shreds. "I hope you will be able to understand all of this one day," she whispered to her babies, and turned to her husband. "My heart aches so much, my love." He flinched, not holding his tears anymore, "I feel you, my love. My heart is breaking apart too. But we have to be strong. If not for us, for them. For Asteria and Zephyra." Solis whispered through their bond. "But where will we be able to hide them? Where will it be hard for them to find our girls?" The Queen took a deep breath, "The Human world."

When the fight began, as expected, she overpowered the kid, and when I thought she would be delighted by the kid's pain, I rather felt like she was in pain for inflicting pain on the girl. Which was absurd. That's not a fae behavior, definitely not a fae behavior.

She purposely dragged the fight longer than needed, playing with her prey before finishing it, and when I thought she would, she got me again.

And the sight in front of me, proved what I was already suspicious off. She's a seer, she's definitely a seer. I never saw one, but the way she froze and her eyes turned crimson red and tears of blood ran down her cheeks as her body began shaking was proof enough.

But having a vision is such a public place? That's extremely dangerously.

Thankfully humans are oblivious and dumb weaker being, and they will probably believe that she has epilepsy or something similar to that, as they did to her sister. And as this is a ring where the only rule is not killing, the female human going by Black Mamba got back to her footing and kicked her ribs with her good leg, then she began to punch her.

I felt something begging me to run to her and pick her up, to break the human on top of her, to take her away from this shit illegal hole, until she recovered from the vision. Because the tales say they get vulnerable when they are at it, and she was extremely vulnerable right there. I fought the urge until I couldn't handle it, as some weird kind of pain flooded inside of me.

However, the second I got on my foot, she woke up and in a second she broke Black Mamba and left her unconscious on the ground. But I couldn't shake a weird feeling as I felt a strong wave of terror surrounding her. And as she leaped away from this place, not really caring about the blood all over her or her broken nose, I wondered what she had seen to make her react like that.

Following her outside, I saw as she left the parking lot in a hurry, and I followed her from behind, getting into the Harley I bought as soon as we arrived in this place.

My phone rang and I cursed, unable to accept it as I followed here back to New Orleans right from behind. And after a short time, we arrived and she ran inside her building, leaving the bike fall on the ground as she ran desperately inside the place.

I ran to the place we rented across the street, and as I stormed inside, the other five were already there. "We called you. Why didn't you pick up?" Rose asked.

"What is it?" Ren came closer.

"What happened?" Naveen got to his feet.

"What happened to you?" I asked Kian as I saw how pale he was and he got to his feet.

"I… I don't know. I felt something calling me. A pulling. A really strong pulling. It was like there was someone watching me, and when the sensation disappeared, I felt terror flooding me. I don't know what the fuck is happening!"

I hugged him, feeling our bond calling me to help him, "It was Verena. It must have been her. She had a vision right in the middle of the ring."

"Ring?" Jess asked confused.

"I followed her inside the back of the bar and found an illegal fighting ring there, where you can do anything but killing. And she went there to fight, and by how people seemed to know her, she must have been doing that for a while. Then it happened. In the middle of the fight she froze and her eyes turned red, blood tears all over her face. Just like they told us the Seers have visions," I felt something reaping inside of me and cursed. "The opponent took that moment and beat her up, but when she got back from it, she destroyed the other kid and ran from there."

"What? She ran?" Kian raised his eyebrows.

"To her apartment. I followed her here. I don't know what the hell she saw, but she seemed genuinely terrified by it."

"You think she has visions of the future?" Rose bit her bottom lip, curious.

"Maybe. I have no idea. But I have a terrible feeling. It's like something-" I stopped as I felt a extremely powerful source of magic coming from her apartment. "Tell me I'm not the only one feeling this?"

They all seemed to be in high alert, "No."

"We have to stop whatever is it that she's doing, Aryan," Kian exclaimed, and I noticed he was feeling the same weird agony I was.

"Fuck. Let's teleport there. You hold Emmaline, Kian. I'll take care of the ticking bomb," I cursed under my breath and in a second we all teleported there, most of them using the tools their parents gave them, while me and Kian used our spatial magic.

And as we arrived in there like lightning, we found Emmaline on her underwear on the bed, while Verena was about to kill a human male. Fuck. Fuck. "Fuck!" We cursed altogether.

As I held her away from the men, I was startled to see her in such a state, angry being imagination, terrified, and crying desperately as she punched my arms to let her down so she could finish the man. Her sister on the other hand was overflowing with pure and genuine fear, and I connected the dots.

In the psychological documents, it said that Verena was extremely overly possessive of her sister. She must have had the vision of her sister in bed with this old man, which is a very weird taste, and she lost it. "Calm down!" I yelled when her sister fainted in Kian's arms and gasped in shock.

"Let me down, you son of a fucking bitch," she tried to kick me but it was useless, and her tears fell on my arms. "I'm going to murder this son of a bitch. I swear to God, I'll reap him to pieces. I'll destroy him!" And at each word her skin grew hotter and hotter, which was enough to know that, like me, she had fire magic running hot inside her magic channels. "Put me down!" She screamed through the tears.

"You can't kill him, Verena!" Ren gasped.

"You can't kill a human," Rose added.

"I fucking can," she yelled, not thinking straight. "I'll make him pay. I'll kill him. I'll kill him. Whoever you are, let me down," she cried and her overflowing pain hit me like a punch, but I didn't let go of her. "Please, let me down. I… I just need to finish it. Let me kill him!" She punched my arms again. "Put me down."

"Guys, can you help me with a lace of magic here to hold her down? Because she's about to go berserk here," I muttered through greeted teeth and I held her tighter, and created a thick lace with all of my magic combined, enlacing it around her arms and body. They helped me out, doing the same with her body until she was tied down. "Can you stop now, for fuck's sake?"

"I'll kill him… I'll kill him… I'll kill him… I'll kill him… I'll kill him… I'll kill him…" Her voice got weaker and weaker until she fainted. I'm surprised she lasted so long after having the vision and driving here for so long.

She really is insane.

A shining light almost blinded us in the small apartment as my parents appeared. Just them. And as they looked around, a grimace took over both of their faces. "What in the actual fuck?" My father cursed. "Did this girl almost kill this human?"

"Yes," I said, still holding her in my arms and told him what happened. But father is pretty much a ruthless monster, and I hate relying on him, just as I hate how controlling he and mom are, but they needed to know. "We intervened when we felt her fire magic almost bursting from across the street."

My mom walked around the human and stopped in front of me, then she looked at Verena's face and grinned darkly, giving a look to my dad, "They are the spitting image of their parents when they were young like this."

Father walked towards Emmaline unconscious body on Kian's arms. He opened her pupils a little bit and then closed it again. "Solis's hair. Celeste's eyes. A mixture of their energies. Yes," he turned to my mom and he didn't look happy one bit. "These two are definitely the Asphodel lost Princesses." Then he turned to me and I clenched my teeth not to show how shaken I was. "Are you sure this one is the ticking bomb? Who's been using the one in Kian's arms?"

I nodded, "Everything indicates to that!"

He and my mom turned to K and he nodded. "Ary's right, uncle, aunt. We looked over everything and she's definitely volatile and dangerous. We also believe she's been hurting her twin and using her blood for the paintings!" He pointed at the painting on the wall, and the bucket of blood inside, which I hadn't noticed until now.

Mom grinned, "Being a monster is in their blood, their mother was way more ruthless than their father. Seems like this one took her shit from that woman," and for some reason, I felt annoyed hearing my mom say that. Especially because I can't imagine any woman being more ruthless than she is. The same goes for my father. And the only ones who are very near that are K's parents.

"Let's go back. Stardust will begin tomorrow. It's your second year, kids. You spent the entire summer after these two nuisances. So, we'll take them to the Academy's infirmary, and lock the ticking bomb on the Academy's dungeon until we interrogate her sister to confirm our suspicions." He turned to me. "Will you want to stay with us," his eyes that mirrored my own, went to my friends, "or will you want to leave this to us?"

"It'll be good. They are your enemies and you are the ones who will be taking care of them in the future. And as you will be the next Kings and Queens of Astra, it'll be good to have some experience on royal interrogation," mom added with an excited grin, and that made me feel anything but excitement.

"We'll go with you!" K and I said together.

"Yes. We'll be there." The others added firmly.

And just like that, mom snapped her fingers and we were all teleported away from the human world, back to Saturn, the biggest city in the Fae Free Lands, where Stardust Academy is located.
