I grabbed my phone and dialed the number on the card. Her phone rang for a few minutes before she finally picked up.
"Yes? Who's this, please?" Her familiar voice echoed through the phone, and I smiled softly.
"Isa, miss. me. yet?" I said slowly, and I could notice the awkward silence from her.
"What's your name, stran...."
"Meet me at Cape da Ava restaurant tomorrow by 4 pm." I suddenly cut her off and ended the call before she could say anything else. Rage's confidence sometimes baffles me; I doubt if Isa would come considering how proud she is. But now I'm more interested in seeing who would actually win: Rage or Isa.
*************
Bang! Bang! Bang! I jolted out of my sleep; the loud banging of the door made me angry, and I jumped out of bed in annoyance. I draped my body in a towel and walked towards the door that wouldn't stop banging.
I yanked open the door, and my angry glare fell on Abi. Her beautiful smile dissolved my anger in seconds. She looks so different today, dressed in a white silk gown that accentuates her perfect shape, her red hair neatly tied. She looks so perfect.
"Good morning, mate!" she screamed happily, extending a rose flower to me, grinning happily. My heart sank at those words. What does she mean by that? Mate? Today is her eighteenth birthday, and it's normal for her to meet her mate today, but why me?
"What the heck are you talking about!" I growled angrily, my eyes glistening with extreme frustration. It's not me; I'll never yell at Abi; it's Rage. I tried hard to control him, but Rage is uncontrollable.
She flinched in fear. I know she wasn't expecting such a reaction from me. She stepped back slowly, her eyes widened in shock and disbelief.
'Liam, what's wrong with you? Have you forgotten today is my birthday? And I'll meet my mate today?' she said slowly, moving backward, scared to the bone.
"Yes, I know, but what the hell do you mean by good morning, mate, young girl!" I growled again, moving closer to her as she continued to move backward.
"Yes, I said that because you're my fated mate, Liam." She flinched again, sobbing quietly, her once beautiful face now flooded with tears. I felt so bad for treating her this way, but I can't do anything. The more I fight Rage's dominance, the more he dominates over me.
"Now listen, young girl! I don't care about this childish crap! You're not my mate, okay? I have found my mate already, so I hereby rebuke you, Abigail Blackwood, as my mate!" Those words slipped out of my mouth, and I felt so dejected.
"Rage! Please just give me a moment to talk to her. Don't treat her this way, please!" I pleaded with my wolf, but he growled in annoyance; he bluntly refused.
Abi, froze in shock, stood dejected and heartbroken. I'm sure this is the biggest heartbreak of her life, and I know it's gonna hurt the most because it's coming from me. Abi likes me a lot. I wonder how devastated she would be right now.
She suddenly flung herself at my feet and held them tightly, sobbing bitterly. "Liam! Liam! I'm sorry; please don't do this to me. Please! I have been in love with you since three years ago, but I was scared to tell you. I had been praying to the goddess of the moon since then to grant us a marriage. Now that my prayers are answered, why are you rejecting me?" She continued sobbing and pleading. "What do you mean by you met your mate already? Tell me you are lying, Liam! Tell me!! It's not true, right? You're just trying to chase me away." The pain is too much for me, and tears start to cloud my view, but Rage quickly shakes away the emotions and maintains his composure.
"Get off me, girl!" I yelled and kicked her away, freeing my legs from her tight grip.
She fell shamelessly on the floor, and I dashed into my room and locked the door behind me. I dropped into the bed in pain, trying to cry, but Rage keeps fighting back the tears.
"Stop being so emotional, boy!" Rage snapped rudely. Rage hates to express his emotions, and when I try to, he makes sure to fight back the emotions.
"Abi means a lot to me, Rage," I lamented.
"Shut up! I don't care!" he growled angrily.
ISABELLA'S POV:
Despite my busy day, I couldn't stop thinking about the strange call I received earlier today. Who could be so bold to address me in such a way? Florence had mentioned meeting Liam yesterday; could the strange man be Liam? No! Never! Liam isn't that confident and bold. Liam is timid. He can't even drink a drop of alcohol. I chuckled slightly.
I kept glancing at my wristwatch, anticipating 4 pm so I can see this bold stranger whom I'm starting to crush on. Strange!
"Bestie! What's up about the strange call you received? Have you figured out whom it may be?" Florence asked as she suddenly barged into my office.
"No, babes. Till evening. Will you follow me? I'm kinda nervous."
"What! Nervous? A man is making my friend nervous? Incredible! Now I'm so very interested in meeting this Mr. mysterious." She exclaimed excitedly.
"Sincerely, there's this charm about the guy. I could feel his aura from the phone. He's making me feel somehow. I can't believe a man can make me feel this way." I screamed, kicking my legs in the air.
"OMG! It's 3 pm; let's move it, baby!" Florence yelled and dragged me out of the office.
I stepped into my car, and my driver ignited the engine while Florence drove behind me. We headed towards Cape da Ava restaurant, which is just a forty-minute drive from my office.
I kept checking my phone every minute, hoping for Mr. mysterious to call, but he didn't, and I began to doubt. What if it's just a prank call? What if he doesn't show up? Whatever I've got this, I assured myself, and my driver zoomed off.
I eventually reached the Cape da Ava. I instructed my driver to park in the restaurant parking lot, and I waited patiently in the car, waiting for Mr. mysterious's call.
Florence parked beside me, alighted, and entered my car. She took her seat beside me.
"Will you call him?" she inquired curiously.
"No, I can't! Have you forgotten I'm Isabella Sinclair? Why should I chase a man? Never. I'll wait for thirty minutes. If he doesn't call, we are leaving!" I snapped sharply, even though deep down in my mind, I wanted to call him.
We stayed in the car for about twenty minutes, and suddenly my phone rang. My heart skipped a beat when I flipped the phone upward and saw the caller was Mr. mysterious.
"He's calling!!!!" Florence screamed in excitement. It was just as if she's the one meeting Mr. mysterious; she's so dramatic.
I eventually picked up the call, and I was greeted by his deep masculine voice. "Isa, look at your left; you would see me," he said and hung up. My heart raced rapidly as I slowly shifted my eyes to my left.
As I looked, a black shiny car zoomed into the parking lot, parking a few distances from my car. "I think that's him," Florence whispered, leaning against me, her attention fixed at the strange black car.
The car door opened slightly, and I could spot a black shiny shoe stepped out gently. The driver alighted, and I looked from his foot slowly to his face.
"Oh my gracious God! It's Liam! Liam is Mr. mysterious!" I froze!
