"Fear creeps around dark corners and hides in our doubts" ~ Shanja

Cole's POV

Silent tears slip down my face as I stare at the picture of my mother. Sometimes I feel as if she's still here but I know that she's not. Sighing as I put the picture back in the box and lay back in my bed.

I stare at the ceiling for hours until I finally fall into a dreamless sleep. I wonder if mother left still hating me for what I did?

Procel's POV

I sat up with a start, gasping for air. I had a vision of the mystery man. We were on a date and we kissed, I blushed at the thought. Wait why am I blushing? I shook my head to rid myself of the thoughts.

I got up and walked to the kitchen. As I was entering the kitchen a gust of cold air passed me. Help me. I looked around the kitchen trying to find a source for the whisper.

"Hello, is anyone here?" I asked loudly, suddenly I felt a cold hand touch my cheek, then my eyes rolled into my head as I had a vision.

...

The cell was dark and damp, it smelled of death. A figure was balled up in the corner, you could clearly make out that it was a woman and that she wasn't being fed well.

She moaned in pain as she turned to me, I gasped when I saw her face. "Mom?" I said as I took steady steps to her. She stared at the wall next to me blankly. "Oh, my gosh mom, I'm sorry. I promise I'll find you soon." I said as I took my hand and touched her cheek.

I heard a heavy door open and my mom started to whimper. "Well hello, there darling." An unknown voice said from the cell door. "It's Procel, right? Hmm, such a beautiful creature, but I think your time is up. Don't worry we'll meet again very soon." He said before I was engulfed in darkness.

...

I woke with a start, I looked around at my surroundings and I was back in my room. Maybe the whole thing was a dream because my mom has been dead for years now along with my father. But little did I know this was just the calm before the storm.
