Chapter 33

"Mommy! Look at all these wolves!" Ian exclaims excitedly, hopping onto my lap.

It was late at night and most of the little ones were tucked in bed for the night. Except for Ian and Samuel, who were staying up with the rest of us. Everyone was circled around a bond fire that Bryce and Christian set up.

"No way! I can't see any of them," I teased Ian, turning my head away from him.

He grabs my face with his sticky hands. Why...WHY are his hands sticky this time!?

"Yeah momma over here, look, you have to look!" He tells me, trying to move my head to wherever he was trying to turn it to.

"Yeah! And when we get older, we're gonna be big wolves! Just like my brothers!" Samuel told him, poppin a squat right next to me on the log.

"You won't make it to my age if you don't quit tormenting our sister," Christian says, coming up behind him while swiftly sweeping Samuel up into a ball in his arm's, and stealing his spot that was next to me.

Samuel giggles, "She's mean though, I have to. Milo says it's why I was born."

We both laughed, but I couldn't help but feel like I was getting stabbed repeatedly to death by a pair of eyes. Turning my head to see that, that Tia girl was across the bond fire, just glaring at me.

     Great....

I looked down and bit my bottom lip between my teeth. Christian's own mother called her? Damn, she must've really hated the idea of me becoming the next Luna for the pack.

In a way I couldn't blame her. I mean she's just trying to keep her family, and the pack safer from harm. She's protecting her her family. If bringing me into the pack means putting a target on this packs head. I'd be angry to.

Probably wouldn't have called my son's ex girlfriend, but ya know, that's just me I guess.

"Don't worry about her Princess, she'll be leaving soon," I hear Christian whisper next to me, nudging my shoulder with his.

I send him a small smile, "Pfff, who me!? Worried!? I'm not worried of - ok yeah, I'm fucking terrified," I say, ending with a laugh.

He laughs and takes ahold of my hand, tangling our fingers together smoothly before bringing them up to his lips. Kissing the back of mine softly, and making my cheeks heat up as he slowly looks up at me with those sexy hooded eyes.

Locking his gaze with mine. This certain type of stare started to hypnotize me, making me almost get lost in those black orbs. I couldn't help but notice how the fire was reflecting off his eyes. Making the flames look as if they were dancing across them. It truly was hypnotizing to watch.

"Mommy I want some smore's!" Ian exclaims excitedly, watching the other people grab a stick and some marshmallows.

Snapping me out of the trance Chris always seems to put me in. We both helped Ian pick out a stick. Putting the marshmallows on all of our sticks, we went to sit back down near the fire.

About three smores down later, Ian and Samuel decided they wanted to sleep on a blanket next to me. Thank God it was a fast sugar crash!

Christian smirks and started scooting his fine ass closer to me, "You make it very difficult for me to keep my hands to myself," he says lowly and seductively, slowly wrapping his arms around me, and scooted me down the log, closer to him.

I laughed and looked over at him, "How? I'm literally just sitting here."

He chuckles, and then buries his face into my neck while sighing over dramatically, "I knoooow!" He whines, squeezing and snuggling into me tighter.

I laughed again and patted his head, accidentally end up knocking his hat off, "You'll be ok, there's sleeping children around so we have to be qu- AHHH! HAHA!" I squealed out in surprise, when he started tickling my sides.

"Shhh!" He shushed me teasingly, holding his pointing finger up to his lips.

I rolled my eyes and shoved at his shoulder, somehow making him fall backwards off of the wooden log. But not a second later I felt his hand snatch the back of my shirt, also pulling me backwards.

Christian doesn't grunt in pain like I do when I landed hard on his chest.

Instead he just smiles down at me like a weirdo, "Well nice of you to drop in Princess."

I chuckled and lightly slapped his face away, "Why are you such a weirdo?"

He chuckles and reaches over for his hat that I knocked off, turning the cap backwards he lightly places it on my head.

"It's the same reason why you're so beautiful, it just comes naturally," he says with a smirk, pressing his lips against mine softly, knocking the breath out of me.

Fucking hell, this little cracker just captured my whole heart.

He pulls away with the biggest and brightest smile on his face, "I'm never gonna get tired of doing that."

I blushed and laid my cheek on his chest. Hearing his strong heartbeat thump against my ear was somehow comforting. But then I felt Christian's body go stiff under me, causing me look back up to see that his eyes were fogged over.

When he finally came back to, his brows creased together in concern. Before looking back at me with worry in his eyes.

"Princess I have to go see about something, will you be alright by yourself for a moment?" He asked while pulling us both up to our feets.

"Yeah of course, but where are you going?" I asked, clinging to his shirt just a tad.

Wait, why am I so clingy all of a sudden? Awe man! Is this how the mate bond works!? I don't think I like this part.

He smirks and leans in to kiss me, "Just have to do my daily patrol around the pack land. I'll be back before you know it."

I nod my head and let go of him. He runs off into the woods near by and I was left alone.

Fuck, I don't even know where Sky is at this point.

I sit myself down back on the log, not really knowing what to say to the other people here. I just keep to myself.

And this is why I've never really been to parties. I'm either left all awkward and alone in the corner of the room, while people around me are joking around or playing a alcohol game. Or I could be in a group of friends that would be laughing and joking around, and still not feel apart of it.

I don't know.... I've never really been one who just easily fit into the friend circle. Hint on why I only have Sky as a friend.

     "Is this seat taken?"

I turned my head to see Tia, and Christian's sister standing there with their arms crossed. Waiting patiently for my answer.

***Christian's P.O.V.***

"Where did you find this?" I growled out, clinching my fist around the picture of Amy.

"I found it here, along with that," Alex, our best female warrior in the pack said, pointing behind a tree.

I raised a brow and walked over to see a dead crow with a black bag tied to it's neck. Inside the bag were many more photos of Amy, and some of both Amy and I. Some taken from today, some taken from the first time we met. Just random photos of her in her room sleeping, or when when she's at home all alone doing random things. One was of both of us, when we were back behind the shed in her backyard.

     What the fuck?

I noticed on one of the photos of Amy sleeping had a big red x over her face, the x was drawn with blood.

"Is this some kind of sick joke?" I asked my fellow pack members, glaring at each and every one of them.

"No Alpha, we believe it's the pack of rogues that attacked us last week," another pack member named Ted spoke.

I clinched my teeth together and growled lowly.

This specific pack of rogues is ran by a sick man with the initials of T.R. Nobody knows what he looks like or who he is. It's been very stressful trying to figure out exactly who this man is. He's always having people do his dirty work for him. But it's not just anyone, younge freshly turned adolescent werewolves that he's been training. Training to kill ruthlessly and take over all packs viciously. He's specifically picking pups who have no pack to call home. Younge pups who has every reason to be angry at the world.

He's taking these kids and building their trust while brainwashing them into thinking we're the enemy.

How does he know about Amy already? What does he want with her? When the fuck was he in her house!?

My brow creased together, I was confused and concerned, "Everyone search the grounds. If you pick up a scent of any kind that doesn't belong to our land, then I wanna know about. Find the person who put this here and bring them to me!"

"Yes Alpha," they all say in union, before scattering out.

"Will you be able to handle this while we're gone son?" My father asked, walking up to us in nothing but jean shorts.

I nod my head, "Yes father, I have been training my whole life to do this you know."

He smiles and slaps his hand on my shoulder and squeezes lightly, "I'm very proud of you son. It puts my mind at ease knowing things will be taken care of here while I'm gone. I hope that it will continue to be that way. And you won't let your other duties as a mate, get in the way of your main duties as an Alpha."

     He was talking about Amy.

My father was old school. He doesn't believe in mixing species, says humans have the tendency to run their mouths about our kind. Being mated to one never ended good. He believed that the pack came first and a mate came second. He even told me once when I was little that if I ever had to chose between the pack and my mate, chose the pack.

"A mate is part of the pack father, and I plan on protecting both, to the best of my abilities," I tell him.

His brow quirks up in and arch, then smiles widely, "Of course son, I know you will."

I crossed my arm's over my chest, "You may want to tell your mate, to stay out of my love life. That is none of her concern."

"She's only doing what she thinks is best for you in your situation son," he explained.

I grinded my teeth together, "That is not her place nor yours father. Stay out of it."

I turned to walk away, frustrated, confused, and in desperate need of my mate.
