Dumb Death

"Hey look over there!" A old man pointed towards the top of a building. The people around him looked towards the direction he was pointing.

"Oh no someone is about to jump!" One of them shouted as soon as they looked over.

On top of the building they were looking at was a young 21 year old man. His appearance was very ordinary. Black hair, brown eyes, average height, and a frail body. Showing his lack of physical activity.

This young man was looking at the sky in front of him as he stood at the edge of the building. His eyes almost seemed to be dull and lifeless. With a small pause that young man then walked off the building almost as if they thought they could walk in the air.

Right at this moment a notification on their smartphone rang. The trance like expression was instantly broken. As they kept falling to their death they almost had a confused expression.

'Huh?'

'What's going on?'

'Uhh!?!'

'Holy sh*t I'm f*cking falling!!!'

'F*ck! F*ck! F*ck!'

SPLAT!

There body turned into a pile of messy flesh as it made contact with the ground. Like that the young man had died.

At least that would have been the end if not for the fact as soon as he died the young man's soul was no longer at Earth anymore.

In another dimension the same man looked around with widen eyes. He had already noticed the shifting change on himself. When he looked at his own body he saw that unlike before it was mostly transparent.

'Is this the afterlife?' The young man thought. His gaze looked at the empty space around him with a slight helplessness.

He couldn't help but think about how he had just died. Thinking about it caused him to get angry very quickly.

"What the f*ck is wrong with me!" He couldn't help but curse out loud. He didn't understand it himself, why had he all of a sudden decided to jump off that building.

While he thought about this the space around him was starting to visibly change. Cracks and distortions were appearing around an area that was 10 meters away from the young man.

While he was distracted by his thoughts at the start of this process, it soon got to a point that was impossible for him to not notice. He looked over and saw that the space in front of him was almost breaking apart as if it couldn't handle the pressure of existing.

'What's going on?!' A small panic crawled over the young man. He had just arrived at the afterlife and somehow he felt like he would be sent to another one.

The pressure around the cracking space was heavier than in other spots. The young man wanted to move away from it but something was holding him down on his spot.

After some time this event finally subsided and along with it a bright figure of a being appeared. The young man had no idea who it was because some sort of aura around them was causing it to be impossible to see their figure clearly. He could only make out that it had a humanoid shape.

"My my you are quite unlucky." The being spoke. It's voice almost ethereal as if it was whispering straight into his ears. The young man felt like he had a guess as to who this being was.

"Are you god?" His voice was shaky as this being in front of him seemed incredibly powerful, shown by it's flashy entrance.

The being paused for a moment before giving out a small laugh. "Haha!"

"Your half right, can't really say what I am but you don't need to know." They spoke in a amused tone.

"What you do need to know is that this is also not the afterlife."

"Huh?" He was confused now, 'if this wasn't the after life then where was he?'

"This is a custom space I created." The being started explaining. "When you died I took your soul from Earth and sent it here to talk to you."

"Your death was extremely stupid, it was so dumb that I had to step in." Saying so they seemed to almost be holding back their laughter.

"Anyways because of that you been given the opportunity to enjoy a second life in another world."

"..."

"Ah come on it's not that bad, you get your own system, don't you humans love these things." His last words seemed to hold some sarcasm.

While he said all of this the young man was thinking about it. Ultimately he had no attachments to this life, his parents already died to a serial killer, his friends ... he had zero. In the end there was no one to care if he died.

'Second life doesn't sound too bad.' Thinking like this he looked at the being and nodded his head.

"Alright I'm ready for the second life." Saying so he waited for the being to do something.

"Alright kido, enjoy your time in the other world, see ya." Saying so the being waved it's hand in front of the young man.

"Oh yeah kid, tell me your name I need to put it in my document!" The being all of a sudden shouted.

"Rex ... I don't have a last name." Saying so Rex felt his soul seemed to be sucked away by some powerful force as he entered a small vortex that was created.

"... Rex I don't have a last name, what a long name." Saying so the being took out a clipboard and wrote it all down.
