Kairo looked at the entrance of the canteen worriedly. He knew that Davis Lane would react like this. That's why he did not tell him about his transfer.

Kairo's father held a good position in a company in this country. He was a very hardworking employee. The higher-ups in the management decided to promote him to the post of the CEO 'In Charge' for the branch of the company abroad. It was a good offer for his career. So he immediately decided to join the new job abroad.

Kairo did not want to leave the country. He protested against his father's decision. But at last, he had to accept it. The main reason behind his unwillingness to leave the country was Davis, his one and only friend.

"Mom. Why do we need to go to another country? Dad is earning well here also. We do not need more money. Please, mom. You tell dad to decline the promotion." Kairo told his mother with tearful eyes. He heard about his father's transfer from his mother.

Now he has got this chance. Should we not encourage him to go forward instead of stopping him?" Kairo's mother said with a smile.

"But mom. This place is not bad. After all, this is our native place."

He will be just fine, even without you. Your life can not be circled just around one single person. " His mother tried to convince him.

"Mom, would it not affect my studies?"

"No, dear. I think you can improve your studies there even more. We can not develop ourselves if we have to deal with the same place and the same person. We need to see the world with a wider view. You will understand everything one day. Please, my dear son, don't be like that. Your father will be upset if he hears all this." Kairo's mother said in a pleading tone.

"Ok," Kairo replied and left his mother's room and entered his room.

He knew that his parents had already made up their minds. So, even if he tries to change, no one would listen to him. So, he had only one option and that was just following his parent's wishes.

He had been trying to tell Davis Lane about his transfer for the last two days, but he could not dare to tell this to his best friend. He knew this news would break his heart. At last, the day came. He had to leave the next day, so he had no choice but to tell him. Kairo sighed and left the canteen after paying the bill.

Davis Lane spent his whole evening on the beach. When he returned to his home, he saw his father was waiting for him at the gate.

"Father, why are you standing here? You will catch a cold." Davis Lane said his father worriedly.

" Where were you? I was too worried about you. You did not even go to the restaurant today. Where did you go after school?" His Father asked worriedly.

"How did you know it?" Davis Lane asked in a surprised voice.

"Kairo came here to meet you. He told me everything. He went to your restaurant. But as you were not there, he came here to look for you." Davis's father said with a sad smile.

He knew that his son was going through a hard time. He wanted to help him to get rid of all the problems, but he was helpless. He could not help his son, even if he is eager to do so.

"What did he say?" Davis Lane asked in a low voice as he entered the house.

"He told me that he will leave the country tomorrow morning." His father said and looked at Davis, who was trying to avoid his eyes.

"Ok. Are you feeling a little better now? Have you had your lunch today properly? I left some rice for you on the cooker." Davis Lane asked his father in a low voice. He was trying hard to seem normal in front of his father.

"Davis. You can tell me everything. If you want you can cry. I know it is not easy for you. You need not hide anything from me."

Davis's father held his son's hand and dragged Davis Lane inside and let him sit on the bed. Davis Lane silently sat there and looked at his father blankly.

"Father, I... I am .... not your strong son. I... I just could not stop my ... " He could not tell anything. He felt like something blocked his throat. His father pulled him nearer and put his head on his lap.

"Davis, my son, listen. If you felt like crying. You should let your tears roll down. Letting tears flow does not mean you are not strong. You are my son. I know how strong you are." His father said, running his fingers through Davis's hairs. Davis Lane could not stop his tears.

"Father, he is my only friend. I....I am going to miss him.I ....I will not get any other friend in my life." Davis Lane said in a low voice.

"Listen, Davis. In this age of yours, friendship is very important. I know how it feels when our loved one leaves us. But we have to endure all these for a better future. Although it hurts, you have to understand that people come and go. It is the rule of nature. No one can stay in one's life forever. You have to learn to let people go. It is good for you. "His father said with a smile.

"A better life is waiting for Kairo abroad, which he deserves. I think you too want his success in life. He would be worried if you show your side to him. You should let him go happily. Try to make new friends. You will feel better as time passes. Don't make yourself sick thinking about the person who is leaving. You should think about what you have now. And who says that you can not be friends with him? You can always contact him. Now be a good child and try to calm down. Ok?"He added as he ran his fingers through his son's hair. Davis Lane nodded.

"I am sorry, father. I made you worried. I should not have acted like that."Davis Lane said in a calmer tone.

"You need not say sorry, my son. I am happy that you are calmer now."His father said happily.
