I stayed in the same position on the bed for an infinite amount of time and even when I heard someone enter the room I continued to lie unmoving in the same position.
"Wow…and here I was willing to put my life on the line that you would at least make it through a week before you gave up," I heard Nami's voice from behind me and I simply went ahead to ignore her.
"Relax! You don't have to work so hard. Once I'm able to get into a sect, I promise that our lives would get considerably better," I heard her softly say as she stood beside my bed.
It was obvious that she was trying her best to comfort me, but it only seemed to have a negative reaction on me as the last thing I wanted to be was weak throughout the remainder of my life in the new world I found myself in.
I kept quiet and after a while, I heard her walk into the bathroom, walk out before leaving the room while I continued to lie on the bed, not seeing a need to move a muscle.
"Is this how I'm going to live my life here," I moaned in my heart and it was at that moment that I began to consider the second option the one I had neglected since I transmigrated and the one that probably killed the original owner of the body.
{Transma}
The moment the thought flashed into my head I jumped up and realized that it wasn't completely hopeless, the only downside was that I needed more mana in my mana core just in case it failed, that way I wouldn't also join Caen, in death.
I was still wondering how to earn enough money to buy mana from the mana exchange office when I heard Nami come back in.
"Dinner's ready unless you'll rather sit there and moan…" slamming the door before I could get a word in.
I hurriedly got up and left the room and headed straight for the small dinning table, glad to see a small plate of food already waiting for me, no matter how small it was.
We all began to quietly eat harmoniously when I finally decided to ask my question.
"Kern…" I began turning to look at father who seemed completely surprised that I actually went out of my way to talk to him.
"Hmm?…" he hummed in response even as he continued eating, with his gaze fixed steadily on me. Even Moey and Nami had stopped eating focusing their full attention on me to hear what I had to say.
"I was wondering if you knew any way of making money…" I said to him,"...I mean apart from farming," I quickly added knowing that, it would take way to long for me to earn the money I needed.
"Ohhhh…" Kern reacted the shock on his face a little discouraging and even more annoying when I turned my face to see that Nami and Moey had the same expression on their face.
"You can't blame us. You're usually so focused on increasing your mana that you forget everything else, Nami shrugged not all showing any remorse even as she continued to eat her food.
"You could help around people's plots of land…" Moey offered a suggestion but I instantly rejected the suggestion in my mind even as I outwardly nodded and smiled.
"You could also help me on out plot of land and I would pay you," Kern spoke next instantounrousing my curiosity.
"How much?" I instantly asked.
"5 bronze coins every week…" he responded and I did all I could not to cringe a little at the price he just stated. It was definitely not the kind of menial job I wanted to do.
I thought I hid my instant rejection well as I nodded and simply smiled without responding which was why I was shocked to hear what Nami had to say when she suddenly opened her mouth to speak.
"That price is too low for Caen. He's probably looking for a way to at least earn a silver coin or more. I'm sure his next plan is to buy as much mana as he can to upgrade his mana core with money. His brain is still the same and can't stray from it's regular path…"
"Well… Maybe you should focus on your brain," I snapped back but before I could open it mouth again to speak, Nami beat me to it.
"Relax! You could always go hunting in the border of the forest for cold beasts. If you manage to catch one hibernating and in deep sleep you'll be able to earn at least twenty silver coins and you'll…" but she didn't get to finish as both Moey and Kern backed at her to keep quiet.
"Shut up Nami!" Kern suddenly yelled.
"Can you keep quiet? Stop putting bad ideas in your brother's head," Moey alsonresponded in a more level headed manner even though she had a disapproving expression on her face.
"I'm just saying whatever I want. I mean…he can't be dumb enough to go to the forest to hunt for beasts," Nami spoke up, with a slightly annoyed look on her face, getting up the next second with her empty plate of food in her hands.
In seconds, she dropped it in the sink and went back to her room.
"Don't listen to a word your sister says…"
"Don't pay any attention to her," Kern and Moey said one after the other before they also got up the moment they were done with their food.
"Of course I won't…" I responded right before I watched them head back to their rooms right after.
"Of course I won't go without finding a good weapon first:.." I said to myself as I also packed up my plates to the sink and began to wash them all since it was my turn to do so.
"Twenty silvers!"
I could already see my mana core brimming with mana and me instantly stepping into the beginner stage.
"With luck on my side I might even be able to catch up to Nami's level…" I thought to myself with a small smirk at the edge of my lips.
I finished washing and headed back to the room, regardless of how dark it was since I only needed to take a few steps to get to the room while feeling around for it.
I recalled some information about the cold beast my sister mentioned which were the lowest ranked beasts in the book I had read and the easiest to kill, as long as they were sleeping or hibernating which they usually did. It just meant the moment I attacked, I had to kill it as quickly as possible, something I felt I could easily do.
"Tomorrow…I have to do it tomorrow," I decided knowing that if too much time went by, my parents would start to keep track of every single one of my actions.
