A Flower from the Sky

"I strayed too far into the forest looking for a cold beast and got scared to go deeper when I almost got attacked by the mother of a tiny beast I found. On my way out, I met a young lady who happened to be a transformation beast. She dragged me back into the forest and almost killed me. I stabbed her in the head but she stabbed me right back on the chest in five places…" Pausing for a bit to take a spoon of my food before I continued.

"...I almost died but crazily just before I did, I tore her heart out, sliced it into bits and ate it. Again, I almost died from the excruciating pain but I finally fainted. I woke up and I was like this…" I ended it in one breath taking another spoon of my food the moment I was done talking.

But of course; the silence that settled around the dinning area was deafening as I looked up to see the shock but incredulous looks that my family gave me.

Even Nami looked like she was about to burst into laughter as she looked at me with a "wow…how long did it take for you to think of that one," look.

"Truthfully…I found a flower at the edge of the forest and I ate it," I finally said, shocked to see how easily the three of them instantly accepted it with Kern going as far as to nod his head vigorously to show that he believed me.

"Quickly describe the flower…" Nami asked with shining eyes and I could already tell that she was ready to go to the forest and look for it, but there was no way I was going to allow her to.

"It's purple and it actually fell from the sky…" and yet again, I was mightily shocked to see how easily they all believed it.

Nami even went ahead to sigh deeply with a sad expression on her face as she no longer asked any more questions about it.

"Why can't I be the one to have a heavenly encounter?" when mbled under her breath right before she continued eating.

Everyone else also did but I had a lot of questions in my head.

"What does the " Remember to Aim for The Deity Realm" in the status window mean?" I asked and I had just done so when I watched as collectively they all dropped their appons and stared at me with blatant shock.

"You've…you've…" Moey began to speak stuttering a little as she did so only for Nami to beat her to it when it became obvious that she was taking too long to finish what she was about to say.

"You've gotten to the Beginner stage?" Nami yelled loud enough for it to echo across the room.

At first, I thought of keeping my stage a secret but the more I thought about it, the more I realized that these three people supported me even when I was nothing but trash, so keeping it from them really would be unfair.

"Final stage…" I softly said and I watched the air being sucked out of each of them as they stared at me with widened eyes filled with blatant shock, especially Kern.

"Final stage? Final stage?" he muttered over and over again, his gaze firmly on me as I continued to nod my head everytime he asked.

"That's what the status window shows…" I replied and from their expressions I could tell that although they found it hard to believe that all believed me.

"The reminder means nothing to us and no one actually cares about it especially since the highest stage amongst us is the final stage and we've never has someone go above it in the village," Moey further explained even as she picked up her spoon in what seemed to be a slight saze and began to eat.

Kern and Nami also did the same even though I could tell that Nami hardly took her eyes off me for even a second as she ate.

"This is good luck though. This means that you'll be able to take the test for the sect selection if you pass and you'll get to go to the city," Kern suddenly said and although I wanted to ask more about the test I simply nodded my head and continued eating.

I figured that Nami most likely knew more information than he did and with her eyes completely fixed on me, I knew that I wouldn't even have to go to her, since she herself would come to me.

Dinner finished later than usual but this time around it was Nami's turn to do the dishes so the second I was done, I dropped my plate in the sink and left.

I was tired and I wanted to get an early nap.

I got back in the room but instead of heading straight to sleep, I picked up the cultivation rank book I was yet to return and began browsing through it, looking for the Deity rank mentioned on the strange status window that appears only to find no mention of it in the book.

By the time I was done going through the book, I was annoyed and frustrated and gently tossed the book to the side, in a way that would ensure that nothing happened to it since the book wasn't mine.

It was already dark and the lantern in the room was low, and the next thing that occurred to me was the fact that I needed to quickly learn how to use magic as quickly as possible.

But just as I was wondering if I would need another book, I heard the door slide open and Nami quietly entered.

I ignored her and continued to wonder how to quickly learn when instead of hearing her head to the left where her bed was, I heard her footsteps move right towards my bed.

I looked up to see her quietly stand before my bed right before she dropped to her knees the next second.

What she wanted was obvious.

She wanted mana.
