E8: We're not in love, we share no stories...

"This… Is… beyond fucked, but this guy don't have any concrete evidence, just your name in his mouth and this is still Blüdhaven!" Said Mateo Flores, Blüdhaven's district attorney while they were rewatching Nightwing's live broadcast from a while ago.

"I'm not worried about the law, Mateo, Roland Desmond is the power and the law in this city, after this though now my Butt's on the line if he sees it, alongside his kookie stooges with personality." Chief Redhorn replied as he put his head down, trying to keep his cool.

"Oh right, sorry that was the actual lawyer in me speaking… Well, Redhorn, you're gonna have to play it smarter from now on and pray these "personality filled stooges" can manage to actually take this kid out." Mateo replied with a smug grin knowing he's safe from Blockbuster's wrath as long as he does what he's told, Chief Redhorn stared at him with a blank look knowing the same thing Mateo was thinking.

"Anyways, My little sister is visiting the Haven today and she's an FBI Agent so keep your men in check, play it smart!" Mateo informed and demanded while pointing at him with , "Yeah, yeah, yeah…" Chief Redhorn replied as he sat back in his chair and placed his hands on his face.

A few hours later…

"I'm just paying a visit to my brother while we're in town, I haven't seen him in ages and after that last assignment I really need this. Keep an eye on the target, keep me notified if he even waves to someone else." Catalina Flores tells someone over the phone about a work matter.

Catalina is outside of her brother's decently sized apartment, waiting at his door, he makes a fortune, she's always wondered why he lives in an apartment that looked like it was from Chicago and not some mansion.

"Lina! Welcome back to the city of gambling! You're looking a bit happier than the last time I visited you, especially with that beaming smile." Mateo greeted his sister with his own radiant smile after he opened his door and saw her looking untroubled.

"Happy because I've finally found the time to visit you!' Catalina replied with an elated tone, Mateo looked at her when her face slightly changed and told his sister, "You're disgusted that I'm still living here though, aren't you?" Mateo said with a slightly less happy voice.

"I was hoping you wouldn't bring the Haven up, that we'd maybe just enjoy each other's company and catch up before I have to go back to long hours of work and travel." She replied after taking a deep sigh, "This place hasn't changed a bit since we were growing up, still gambling advertisements, an overkill of hookers, truck loads of dirty bastards with badges and gangs dealing dope and poison while living in luxury. This city is dirty cop central." She finished telling him, getting angrier the more she went on.

"Hey, hey, hey, you know it's unrealistic for a city to change so quickly, within a lifetime. I can at least guarantee you that the cops are managing crimes the best they can while you're out saving the country from threats. You've got a closed mind, a bias against this city blinding you from the small changes all around." Mateo replied with a confident tone like always, always having been the more confident sibling and this made Catalina shut up as she just gave him a look that said she might've been pondering on those words.

A few hours later somewhere in the middle of 1 AM, the night sky was clear and the advertising was lit up bright, advertising the local Casinos and everyday products by local companies.

Catalina was with her team in an F.B.I issued surveillance van a few blocks down from the warehouse suspected to have housed their target a few times and to have possibly still be a base of operations for him, to sneak intelligence from within, having had hired an informant on the inside with a listening device on him to spy.

"This is getting us nowhere, nobody's talking about him, he's probably already left the city, we were probably sold dodgy intel." Catalina complained as she and her 3 other fellow undercover agents have been surveilling for hours without end with zilch. Her patience is usually astronomical for even an F.B.I agent, however, this case was important for her.

All the other agents tried to ignore her but it came to a halt when they had seen something on the monitors that was connected to their informant's disguised hat camera that caught all of their attention.

A young vigilante with Dark and short hair got around to knocking the sparks out of every despicable man in that complex while performing ritzy acrobatic flips accompanied with dumbfounded speed and agility that put everyone in that van that night in shock and awe, and he did it all alone with his bare hands.

"What in the hell is this kid?" An older Agent named Cliff Cornwall, one of Catalina's fellow undercover agents spectating the scene and on the assignment with her and the others asked out loud but without the great wonderstruck the others were feeling.

"I don't know but he's going to take our informant out of commission and he might be in some way connected to our target, we have to rush over there now–" Catalina pointed out before she was interrupted by fellow agent Saffron bell who before she even began, started the engine and stepped on the pedal.

The four of the agents drive a few blocks to the complex and enters cautiously with their Glock17s in proper stance, slowly moving in unison, each agent covering the other's back as they make their way up from the entrance but do find a few bad men laid out on the ground but retains stable breathing. One agent looked at the other with confusion.

The complex was large and there were plenty of men found with their lights out as the agents made their way through the floors their informant was planted, eventually they made way to the roof and just in time, the man in the dark tights and bright art on his chest that left that pile of bodies they went past was on the edge of the complex's roof but they all withheld firing their guns at him as he turned around and saw them staring.

He was perched on the edge staring down deciding his next building to keep moving within the night on patrol, the other building tops lit up their current one even though there were no neon billboards on it, so they saw him perfectly, his blue bird logo and his slick dark mask with its electric blue lens, concealing his identity perfectly but revealing other details.

Nightwing stared back at them without uttering a word but Nightwing and Catalina's eyes exchanged for the longest then they stood by as he performed a gainer flash flip off the building.

Panic aroused in them as the squad sprinted from the rooftop door to where he flipped off the building like he was ready to die in style but saw him zipping with a grappling hook onto another pretty far away.

Catalina's intrigue grew stronger and stronger of this mysterious, fearless, free-spirited man by the seconds that passed them, as she and Nightwing locked eyes.
