Chapter 2

Alex and myself were working on our Assignment for the entire day in the study centre, well I was he was rambling on about what we would be doing now that Jason was joining.

"It's getting late; we have an early class tomorrow morning" I said in a sleepy voice while stretching. Alex closed his laptop and packed it in his bag.

"Yeah we should get going, everybody has cleared out." He said while looking around, the place was completely empty, besides us of course.

"Ok see you tomorrow Eli." Alex said while placing his bag on his back and giving me a goodbye hug.

I walked in the opposite direction of Alex because his dorm was close by while mine was basically on the other side of campus. I pulled out my phone to check the time. When I opened my phone I saw my background was a picture of Jason, Alex and myself on the first day that we met. Oh shoot it midnight, I need to shower. I walked as fast as my legs could carry me in the dead of night. One of the lamp poles were flickering which really worsened the experience of walking all alone across campus to my dorm.

As I passed to football field I stopped, because I saw a familiar character, it was one of the boys who was always with Jason. What could he be doing at this ungodly hour?

I watched as he walked pass the football field, so he was definitely not practicing, and into the gross of trees that was right behind the football field. For some dumb reason I decided to follow far behind him. It's best if I go back, this doesn't look good, his probably going to consume alcohol where none can see him or something. Despite my thoughts and every fibre of my body telling me to go back I wanted to know what he was going to do. My anxiety went through the roof when I remembered the saying about the cat that was killed by curiosity. But maybe curiosity just wanted to chill in the woods with a beer, there's nothing dangerous about that, is there? I made sure to keep a safe following distance so that he couldn't notice me, I looked down as I almost fell over an exposed root from a tree. I looked up and he was gone, lost in the forestation. I frantically searched with my eyes when I saw a figure walking towards an opening. My palms were sweaty and my heart began to race, I took careful and slow steps towards the opening of the trees. I crouched down behind a bush so that I couldn't be seen when all of a sudden I could hear him moaning. Oh my god he is not doing the deed in the bushes, are you serious, wait why don't I hear anybody else. How disgusting is he really doing it by himself in the woods? but why… Before I could finish my thoughts I heard his moans getting louder and more animal like. I removed the leaves that was blocking my vision only to find the guy on all fours, but something was off it looked as if his bones I his back were moving, and that when I heard it, the nauseating sound of bones breaking and his moaning grew louder and he busted out of his clothes. Black Hair began to grow on his back first then the rest of his body and he lifted himself off of the ground, he had long hairy hands and claws where his hands used to be and his legs looked as if he had three joints, he stood on two legs. I gasped as I saw how tall this humanoid creature was. The beast snapped its head in my direction to reveal a wolf like face. What the hell is that? No way. It can't be. I must be dreaming. Even though I tried to make myself believe that there wasn't a werewolf in front of me every drop of sense I had told me that it was and that I needed to get out of there. The beast began walking towards me and gradually picking up pace. I got up and I ran like hell. I fell over a few roots and sticks but I didn't look back, as I heard the beast running after me and gaining on me. I could see the football field and the fence that surrounded it. I felt a sting on my lower back as the beast slashed me with his claws, I fell down due to the impact and rolled out of the trees, that didn't stop me though, I got up and ran towards the fence of the football field, despite the growling I heard from behind me.

I jumped onto the fence and began climbing as fast was my twig arms would allow me, my foot slipped a few time but when I made it to the top of the fence I threw my self over and landed with a thud on the ground. I ran to the opposite side of the fence to get as far away from the creature as possible. It came bursting through the woods with such a force that made my legs shake, the beast got up on two legs and began walking towards the fence. It can't get me here, I'm safe. All of a sudden the beast began climbing the fence and I just froze, there was nothing more that I could do seeing that the adrenaline left my system. It was almost at the top of the fence when I heard a howl. Not another one damn its my first year of college. The howl seemed to have grabbed the attention of the beast and its ears were pointed in the direction of the howl. Again, another howl came from the woods and the beast launched itself from the fence and took off into the woods. I waited a few moments before I noticed that the gate of the football fence was open and if the beast decided to come through there I would've definitely been dead meat. I began walking in the direction of my dorm, I could hear continuous howling so I started running.
