Chapter 41 : Marquis Aloet

Now in the mansion of the Aloet Marquis , a heavy discussion was going on . In the Office of the Marquis , he sat infront of Thorkell and Aurora who were sitting and Cain in his armor was standing behind them .

Everyone in the mansion was silent , and the whole city was under lockdown and everyone were sent back to their homes . The bustling city was now looking like a ghost city with no one walking around . The whole city had gone silent , the only cries which echoed throughout the mansion was of a Woman which everyone could hear.

The aged elf , clenching his fist tightly spoke

"What did my son do to get burnt to death like that Sir Thorkell , I need answers , he needs to pay the price "

Thorkell with a frustrated tone spoke

"Rather than me , let my disciple explain what happened , Marquis Aloet"

As both Thorkell and the Marquis looked at him , Cain could feel the animosity from the Marquis but he spoke in a respectful tone

"Sir , this was all legitimate self defense , you can question the two guards who were earlier with the young elf at the time . He first tried to get close to Lady Aurora without her permission , even though she ignored him . Due to that the elf got angry and was going to get forceful , I stopped him and told that she is a passerby and they needn't worry , the two guards then pointed swords at me and the elf started to harass me with words . Even then I told them to leave us and warned them that if they attacked me with intent to kill , I will kill them , but they attacked me still and this was the consequence "

The room was silent , but then Marquis Aloet spoke

"Was it necessary to kill my son , you could have knocked him out. He did make a mistake but you still need to pay the price for killing so many people"

Thorkell little frustrated spoke

"See here Marquis , you can ask those two guards who were alive what happened and even if we kill everyone here , the kingdom would cover it up . I know you're sad about you're son , even we didn't except it to happen . My disciple is also apologetic "

In a angry tone the Marquis spoke

"What do you mean!! he needs to pay the price , if it was anyone else they would have their whole family wiped out . He even burned my son's corpse to that miserable state ! "

As the Marquis tried to continue a heavy aura surrounded the mansion as Aurora spoke

"Hey , you do understand that we could've killed everyone in this city because of you're son right ? or do you not remember what happened in the past , this is really irritating ."

The Marquis started to calm down and spoke

"Lady Aurora I am sorry for my rude behavior , it's just that i wasn't in the right state of mind as my son had died"

Aurora didn't speak anything but looked at the Marquis with utter disgust as Thorkell continued

"So , we can compensate you for your loss Marquis , We will send a message to send you an appropriate numbers of resources so that it will help your other children easily raise a rank"

The Marquis nodded and now calmly looked at both Thorkell and Cain as if he was examining them , this was completely different from his previous demeanor as he spoke

"Sir Thorkell , I know you will compensate me well , but if the rumor spreads that the new disciple of Thorkell slaughtered a Knight division in The Wulfruric Kingdom , It will be damaging for you all"

Thorkell smiled a little as he spoke

"So what do we need to do for that ?"

"well we will need to have a lot of money to change or suppress those rumors , but there might be people who are likely to keep an eye on you all and would've reported it already "

"So ?"

"Wouldn't it be bad if some people change those rumors as Thorkell accepted a murdering psychopath as his disciple "

"Hmm , It might be . What do you think Cain ? We can get the rumor suppressed"

"Let it be "

"That's what he says Marquis , He likely wouldn't care about it "

The Marquis looked at Cain and spoke again

"Boy , We will issue a notice that there was a quarrel which started between you and my son which escalated to this . "

"Yes , fine "

"Then , if possible it would be better if you all continue with your tasks , The servant will guide you out "

The Marquis left as the Three went out of the mansion , after reaching a certain distance form the mansion Thorkell spoke

"Was is it necessary to do that , I mean burning him to death ?"

Aurora looking at Thorkell in a irritated look spoke

"It's his wish why are you concerned about it . Their are the ones that started to mess with us . We can just wipe off the family "

"Lady Aurora it's not like that , it will be detrimental to our reputation . We can pressure them to keep this hidden but what the marquis said is true , there are people following us and monitoring us and might spread rumors"

"Cain do you have any problems about rumors going around about you?"

Cain who was following Thorkell and Aurora as they were discussing was observing them as they spoke and listening he replied

"No , i think it will be better . such as it will help people to focus on this incident and not dig about my past much and also they mostly won't make me like a complete villain . Rather than that if anyone targets me now they can spread any type of rumors and also pin crimes on me since i don't have a proper past . so this will be better"

"See , Thorkell don't worry much he doesn't care about this "

"Lady Aurora , it's not that . The Marquis will most likely spread all types of rumors about Cain now he might have calmed down , but he'll damage Cain as much as possible and in this case the only thing he can do is damage his reputation"

"Tsk , Thorkell just finish whatever work we have in the city . And let him spread any type of rumors he wants , I'm going "

Thorkell clearly frustrated started to go somewhere else as he told them the location they will be staying at and left .

Aurora then headed out of the city as Cain followed her , after going some distance she started to speak

"Was it really necessary to burn him alive ?"

Cain looked at her concerned expression and spoke

"Yeah"

"It would be better if you just kill them by slicing their throats or importantly leaving their body in a presentable state , even i did mutilate bodies using water manipulation to explode them form the insides but it will be hard to deal with the aftermath that when you just chop of their heads"

Cain was astonished and scared as Aurora spoke seriously , his expression was clearly written on his face as he looked at her , looking at Cain she asked in a confused look

"What ?"

"Well , it was for a different reason than you think"

As he spoke Cain created two portals infornt of him and Aurora and put his hand through one as it came out through another , this time Aurora had mixed expressions on her face . Her face now clearly filled with fear and concern as she held both Cain's arms with her hands and spoke

"Why.. Why do you have this ability? "

"What do you mean why ? it's the ability of the flame Primordial "

"Who Said That ! That isn't and I've never heard of it used by the Flame Primordial , This is the ability of the Calamity beast Mahr . Around 500 years ago a Mahr alone waged war against the whole world , it was taken down by the Void , Flame Primordials and the two of the Three Elder dragons who worked together , the others weren't even match for it . Now any creature even slightly related to Mahr is hunted regardless of which nation it is in"

"Wait , wait , wait What are you saying ?"

"Cain you'll be hunted by the whole world and not only by the Three Primordials and this time it will be more rigorous you won't be able to escape anywhere "

Aurora started to hold Cain more tightly as she started to hyperventilate as she spoke in between

"No , no but the Mahr ate the bodies physically so it's not like that. Yes you'll be safe "

As Aurora started to panic more Cain shook Aurora's whole body and spoke

"Calm down let me explain what all I know , please calm down"

Cain couldn't watch her Panic like that and when he looked at her mana flow he could see how it was similar to the flow when creatures were faced with absolutely no way to escape , only disorder her mana circulation was in disorder and the her hyperventilating scared Cain .

He then continued to tell all the things which happened to after he met Artorix , the skill selection and all types of uses his skills had and how he could never truly master any skill which was not related to his base ability that is Flame manipulation and how he could also not learn skills related to healing others or any plant growth skills or water manipulation skills effectively or to a degree where they would have practical use and also about how he consumed souls and kept them entrapped himself.

They both were sitting on a large tree as Cain explained and Aurora started to calm down and as he finished she spoke

"Cain , never reveal this to anyone . Not even Thorkell and the others and as you've said you're ability is very much different from the Mahr "

"Yeah , fine "

"No , This is an order from now on never reveal anything about your real skills to anyone and not even me unless you are 100 percent sure the person asking is me"

"Ok , but i guess i need to know a lot about the general things now right ? I mean what are the Elder Dragons ?"

"Oh , those things . Well most people or even many kingdoms don't know about them except the complete top , It will take some time to explain and i'm not in the mood for that "

Cain remembering how Aurora got the panic attacks , removed his armor and in normal clothes lifted Aurora like a princess and vanished from that place.

At a very huge distance from the City of Aloet many people in clothes which suited an Assassin were running away from the City towards different locations , as for a pair of assassins one spoke

"Who the Heck is that Disciple !? I mean he took care one of the elite troops of this kingdom just like that"

"And even that Marquis tightening security now , Tsk"

"Leave it we need to get this information we don't know if we'll be hunted to silence us "
