Chapter 191: DANGER IN THE WATERS

(Ken's POV)

Everything felt...sudden,

I could hear nothing more but my own screams,

The grip the dragon had on me was tight,

And for the first time, I could see why the demon lords were long alive.

I tried to punch it, with added force at that,

And yet...the dragon won't even budge.

Its claws dug deep into my arms,

And I could hear the blood spilling, the flesh starting to unwrap.

I could hear nothing after that.

.

.

.

I woke up, seemingly wet from my own blood,

My body felt like it caught a fever, so numbingly hot.

An angel, with broken wings, carried my body,

As I saw my arms still bleeding, what a horrible injury.

I turned around, and saw that only three follows,

I felt disheartened, what happened to the other fellows?

My expression may have been too obvious,

As the one from behind me, smiled and shook.

"They are currently fighting the demon-Leviathan,

It proved quite hard since with him around, the dragons are amplified.

You see, even as an angel, Leviathan had such ability,

His charms and energy, served useful to water beasts.

When the injured dragon tackled you,

Its wounds closed, and to hold it back took no few,

Haborym only made an illusion that you were somehow dead,

That was the only thing he could do,

so we can have time to escape.

Till this point on, your supposedly remains,

Is still stuck in that place."

"I haven't helped as much,"

I said, as I continued to see the blood falling in both my arms.

"If I can't defeat Leviathan, then how could I defeat the others?"

"Patience is a virtue, Ken. We haven't even defeated Leviathan, all Haborym is doing right now,

Is buying us more time."

Just as then, the watery swamp we were walking unto, froze,

Holding all of us in place as we had yet to see the worst.

The angels melted the ice but it kept on freezing back,

And when we saw who emerged from the shadows, we were all but shocked.

"You think I'd let you escape?

Heh, the real battle is just about to take place.

I have trust in my dragons to finish the job,

But now, let's see if I am stronger, than you, children of God."

I felt instantly petrified the moment our gaze locked,

But we couldn't possibly turn back.

We do not know much about this place,

Running on another direction,

Could worsen our fate.

Leviathan is blocking the way,

And as hard it is to say,

Fighting him is our only option left to display.

I gulped, quite unsure of how to deal with him.

Especially now, that I can't feel my limbs.

But,

Just then, I remembered an important thing, Sir Michael had said,

Absorbing nearest life forms, can help me mend my flesh.

It may be hard, and needs a lot of focus,

But we are outside, so there might be available life force,

With no walls to stop me, I closed my eyes,

No way I'd let myself be carried, as my friends end in demise.

Leviathan seemed to be impressed as the trees around us wilted in an instant,

But it also feels painful, to keep on raising my wounded arms.

I felt my cheeks damped in tears,

Good thing I have a mask to have those feelings concealed.

I melted the waters, in hopes to free the angels,

But it kept freezing, and freezing,

It kept going back to where it started,

The process never ending.

Frustrated, I have to face the truth that the fight will be just us, alone,

Or not...as I hear the water beneath us, reveal monsters unknown.

"Ah, this might drain me a lot but I gotta say,

All I really plan is seeing you killed in the most gruesome way."

That threat was not my focus at the moment,

Because all I could focus on that point,

Was the monsters staring back at me, excited to resurface.

I quickly told the angels, though weak and feeble,

To at least, with their strenght left, form a force field to protect themselves.

They did as I told, but worry were plastered on their faces,

After all, who am I? I'm not even a quarter of their age.

Don't get me wrong, I too, am scared,

But with nothing else on our disposal,

This is no time to be discouraged.

With the ice breaking, and the enemies surfaced,

The angels had their feet freed from the frozen sheets.

Still, the cold seemed to have paralyzed them,

And than let them risk their lives in a biased battle,

I assured I'd at least keep Leviathan busy as they call for help.

After all, angels, so long as there is no blockage,

Can communicate telephatically,

What a handy ability.

Suddenly, my focus shifted to reality,

As I heard the beasts scream and charged at me.

I almost cursed aloud as I almost got hit,

Their tails are fast, and I'd definitely die in a whim.

I jumped, the highest jump I've done in my life,

Despite the fact that my legs already throb.

The fever-like symptoms, still pestering my body,

But I kept pushing on, despite many hindrances, I carry.

But they were fast, and oh, did I mention they're three?

Smaller than what we've fought before, but still bigger than me.

They look at my figure, charge ever so hungrily,

And to keep myself safe, I have to use my peering abilities continously.

I swear I almost vomited from exhaustion,

But I kept blasting them, though Leviathan keeps healing them as mentioned.

Just then, I figured that maybe staying away from the enemies could not be the only option,

And so, despite the protests of the angels behind,

I ran to them, and faked my desperation.

I yelled, to keep myself focused on my goal,

As Leviathan laughs, already calling me a fool.

He moves his hand, manipulating the dragons' attacks,

But bless the heavens for my gift,

I already knew that.

I could tell his surprise when I went into the cold waters,

As the dragons beneath me bend over to find my figure,

But when they did dive, they were blinded by light,

I released the energy I've been keeping so far.

As they resurface, wild and irritated,

I climbed to their necks, though it was slimy and wet.

Leviathan was waiting for my tricks, but I could tell he was impatient,

As he kept discouraging me of my plan,

"Are you, perhaps scared?"

I mocked him as I climbed,

Laughing when he felt affected and paid mind.

"And what made you think I'd be afraid of dust?

You are not the first, and certainly won't be last."

The way he said that brought chills to my spine,

And I realized how cocky I have been,

But despite the mistakes I've commit,

I froze the first dragon's gills.

It yelled, and shrieked in pain,

Finally, my original plan had worked its play.

But what I did not predict is the violent shaking it would do,

As it gasp for air, how could I not knew?

I tried to stay in place,

But the longer I stay,

The more violent the dragon becomes.

The angels were worried and tried to help,

But I told them with all of me, to stay.

They were already wounded,

And their barriers are even flickering,

I can't see them die, it's my turn to save.

Leviathan laughs, as he claps his hands,

I felt confused, why is he laughing when his dragon is clearly having a hard time?

Just then, I felt pale,

When he flicked his fingers,

And the ice in the dragon's gills melted away.

"What kind of plan is that?

Clearly you're exhausted,

It may have worked if I wasn't here,

But seriously?

You think you can win?

I am a god compared to you,

May be weaker than my brothers, but well, excuse you,

I did not earned my title for nothing,

And I won't let a youngster like you, suddenly win.

This isn't a movie, little hero,

I'll win no matter what you do."

"Okay," I said as I absorb the waters,

It may be risky doing so,

But...water is one of the things that amplifies his dragons.

I felt myself vomiting, and my veins giving in,

As I tried to seep the water, and converting them to flames.

The process was taxing, match it with dodging them all the time,

But as soon as I saw it's working, my doubts were certainly gone.

(The dragons...I should just imagine them as big big fishes.

Without proper hydration, they're basically useless.)

But my thinking was interrupted,

When I suddenly heard Leviathan yell,

"You little brat, just go to hell!

The heavens had blessed you too much with such daring gift!

You should be dead by now,

But since you're not...

I'll fight you, myself."

And then, I was taken aback by the sight of him growing a tail.

More chapters soon! Thank you!
