"I've told you before Melanie, I love someone else, I have no feelings left for Carl."

"Okay then tell me about this guy," I said wanting to know about this mystery guy she was not telling me about.

"Not now," she replied, picking up her plate to the sink.

"Then when?" I asked as she started cleaning the plate. When she didn't reply I asked again, "Does your family know about all of this?"

"No, and I wouldn't want them to know any soon," she finally said turning off the water.

"But what about your mom, she will surely suspect something when she comes here."

"I'll figure it out by then," she said as she was drying the plate with a towel.

"I wish you can open up to me about all of this," I said but then quickly added, "Though I won't push you. You'll tell me when you're more comfortable right?"

She turned around looking at me with a warm smile, "Sure."
