Never Meant To Be . . . (Wilbur Soot in RWBY)

Wilbur thought this was the end for him as he faded away . . . but this is only the beginning . . . "Will I be the Villain, in this story?" "Want some blue?" Note: This takes place after the SMP and I don't own RWBY or Wilbur or the SMP for that matter.

Prologue: Remnant of a Soot

(Wilbur's POV)

Where to begin?

My drug van?

My country?

L'Manburg?

Tommy?

Dream?

Yes, Dream! Of course . . .

But really . . .

How long has it been . . .

I'm going crazy again . . .

Talking to the walls . . .

These endless concrete walls . . .

Walls running parallel to the tracks . . .

How long has it been . . .

I'm here again . . .

Steamy tears have stained my face . . .

Burning tears . . .

Scaring tears . . .

I no longer remember why I was sad . . .

The quiet is deafening . . .

That's why I talk . . .

To the walls . . .

Listening walls . . .

You understand? Don't you?

Of course you do . . .

I'm so cold . . .

(3rd Person POV)

As Wilbur continued his rambling, he felt a small but noticable vibration. A familiar rumbling.

Wilbur quieted quickly. And turned down the track. A distant yet bright light shined. The rumbling became louder and bolder.

The light became brighter and brighter.

Eventually, almost instantaneously, a rush of wind and the passing of train windows filled Wilbur's vision.

The train decelerated to a slow stop.

The doors opened.

Wilbur stood there and stared for a moment, almost expecting something, or someone.

When he realized that nothing was going to happen, he slowly got aboard the train.

As he took a seat on one of the many empty benches, the doors slammed shut, and the train started to accelerate.

And then a static-y yet smooth and calming voice came over the P.A., something that surprised Wilbur, it wasn't something he ever heard before.

"Next Stop, Vale of Remnant." The voice cut off and the train reached near light speed.

Yet Wilbur was almost calm through it all. Almost eager for what waited for him.
