CHAPTER 2

It's been raining here for hours. No work. No agenda. Nothing. Just pure bore. "Ugh." I sighed and rolled my eyes out of the air. Momma's not here. I have no class. Xiamara's busy. I'm a bit sad 'cause I've no one to talk to. I started to look out of nowhere and I am enjoying it as of the moment.

My cell rang and I got back to my proper. I immediately and happily get my phone to see who's calling.

No name?

Must be someone.

I ignored it until the rang put itself onto a calm state. But then again, the same number called. I picked up and answered. "Hello?"

A moment of silence.

"Hello?!" I'm starting to get pissed.

I was about to end the call when I hear a sigh coming from the line. "Meet me in Casa Monte Verde. 7:05 sharp." a manly voice was heard.

Uh, excuse me?!

Who is this man to command me? And hell, I don't even know who's the freak.

"Thank you, but no." Courtesy over piss.

"Yes, you will. Guards are coming your way." What???? THAT'S INSANE.

I ended the call and made an angry face. That's man's just so... I don't know what to say.

I mean... THE AUDACITY?!

I can't believe I'm being this stressed to that one call. I didn't mind what he said. Perhaps he's just pranking someone. Well, he got the wrong person to deal with his stuff.

I went to the kitchen and got myself a fresh milk and strawberries. An hour or so, I'll start cooking for my dinner. I am right now peacefully enjoying my snack and still worrying about the guy in the phone call. Funny how I thought these milk and strawberries would help me calm my mind and not be bothered by that freak.

But hell, why do I blame these stuff?... these are just foods.

I went to my room with the milk and strawberries in my hand and decided to watch Netflix for a moment. I'd like to go for Fear Street trilogy. I then opened my laptop, went through Netflix, searched my movie, and voila, I've started.

Minutes, minutes, minutes after, I heard my cellphone rang.

Again, the freak or I don't know what to call him.

Hmm, if he's doing it to pester me, why don't we give him a taste of his own medicine? I smirked and chuckled as the idea crossed into my mind.

"Hello?"

"Are you ready?"

"Sí, sí. I've worn so much dress to impress you, darling." I chuckled.

"See a car in front of your house? Get in there. I'll be waiting here." And the phone beeped.

What??? Is he really that serious?

I was curious. I got up and put my slippers on. I went downstairs to see if it's true. I mean, well, I'm curious. Duh.

I opened the door and went outside our house. I travelled my sight left to right, finding a car.

I can't even see one.

"So I'm fooled, huh? You made me look like an idiot right now! Freak you! Imbecile." I started shouting outside as if I was not in my own state.

I crossed my arms and realized that I should shut up. There's no point in arguing that freak. He's not even here. I mean, that was a real bluff.

I'm about to navigate towards our door to enter the house as I hear a vehicle coming in the lane. And oh my gosh, it stopped in front of me. "Enter, miss." the man with a black suit commanded.

"NO!" I exclaimed.

I walked out but then I was shocked when someone covered my mouth and grabbed me to get into the car. The car closed and the driver started the vehicle.

"WHAT THE HELL? WHAT ARE YOU DOING? WHO ARE YOU?! IF I KNEW, YOU'RE THE ONE THAT MAN CALLED ME TO PICK ME UP, HUH?!" I blabbered. "WHO IS HE?"

No one's answering my question. Freak this.

"YOU DO NOT HAVE THE RIGHTS TO PICK ME UP! HELL! I WILL CALL THE POLICE. THIS IS KIDNAPPING!"

Hell, yeah. I didn't get to bring my phone with me. What a night.

"ARGH! THIS IS NOT JUST APPROPRIATE!" I exclaimed.

-

After a few minutes, I have gone silent. Mad but silent.

If this is happening, I wonder who the guy is. I bet he's crazy.

Silence then again conquered through the ride. Then, I heard the driver said "Sir, we have arrived." Oh yeah?

Ah, yes. We're here at the Casa Monte Verde. A penthouse in the city. This infrastructure is just so elegant.m that it keeps me wonder who the architect was. I kept staring outside the window to see how amazing the view is. I've been here since then. My sister had her debut here. It's just that... this place never failed to amaze me. ALL. THE. DAMN. TIME.

The vehicle stopped near the entrance. The black suit guy opened the door for me and that's when I realized I was wearing a simple outfit. A spaghetti top under a sliced sweater, a comfortable pants, and slippers. Oh my, they knew me here.

Of course. I am in a family of doctors who have 5 owned hospitals with different branches in the country.

I hope they won't recognize me.

As we enter the door, the shimmering light of the chandeliers and the fancy interior design still gets me. It's like a royal palace, indeed. We navigated our way to the elevator and wait for it.

Soon as the elevator opened, it came to surprise too see Mr. James in the place. My eyes wide opened. I slowly lift my cheeks to make a smile. An AWKWARD smile.

"Oh, hi Melissa. You're here." I just continued to smile and left no words. He was alone in the elevator. I wonder where he would go.

Perhaps a meeting would feed my curiosity.

He went out of the elevator and we entered, the driver, the black suit guy, and me. The driver pressed the highest number. 106. We're going there for real? Wow.

I mean, yeah, I've been here but the debut of my sister is in a hundredth floor.

This time always keep me thinking about who the guy from the phone is, why is he doing this. I mean, does he need money or something? No, no. We are in a penthouse, girl. He would not need money if he already did afford to book an appointment here. Dummy.

But well, okay. Let's just go with the flow.
