Walking side by side with Muriel, Ned asked and was asked back questions about the job.
But, Being enchanted by Muriel's kindness and Unbelievably beautiful and sweet smile, the talk slowly drifted from business to casual chatter in a matter of few minutes.
His Majesty's loving and humble aura baffled Ned a lot, " Muriel, do you have any ideas how much of a literal angel you are?"
Muriel's rosy cheeks flushed shades of red at that statement, "Oh my! complimenting me all of the sudden! I am no such a thing as an angel."
"You're an absolute gemstone, I can't believe anyone would dare to harm you."
"Well it is normal in a world like this, People can be really deceiving Neddie, I myself have being a victim of sweet smiles like mine before."
Taking the young king's hand in his, Ned gently leaned in and kissed it.
Muriel could only blush deeper at the gesture, "Oh heavens! and here I thought Sir Delun was the flirty one."
"Just because I'm an Omega like you, doesn't mean I can't sweep you off your feet...I have taste for the finest things in life, Your angel kind included." Said Ned, kissing Muriel's hand once more.
Giggling, "How exciting Neddie! Well, how about we get inside my office first? it is too windy even for an autumn day, and I am dying to relief my feet from these devilish heels." Muriel said.
The king Opened the door to his office and Ned followed close by, he waited until Muriel took a seat on the sofa before he joined him.
In a swift move, the young king ditched his shoes, tossing the stilettos aside.
"You have my respect already Muriel for daring to walk in those six inches, it looks uncomfortable." Ned spoke up.
"Uncomfortable is an understatement Neddie, I did not choose the Fabolous life, it choose me." Muriel replied jokingly.
Ned bursted laughing at The king's joke, "Ahaha! Good one Muri!...for me at least, and not just because I'm more of a masculine omega, but I can never wear a heel like you do, without falling on my face.
I'd get too scared if I don't feel my whole foot on the ground, I wouldn't take one step outside! Flatform shoes are my style till the day I die." Ned replied.
Giggling to himself, Muriel answered "Well that is the price of being too pretty like myself."
"So, should I call you Boss or Master in work hours? or I can use the privilege you gave me earlier about calling you by your name all the time?" Ned asked, "Ah right Neddie! chatting with you has delighted me so much, I seem to have forgotten that we should discuss business first." Muriel replied.
...An hour later...
The king and the doctor spent the last hour busy with discussing The New job's terms, and its regulations.
Nothing seemed out of the ordinary about the job to doctor Valentino, until his Majesty mentioned something, his kids.
"So I'm like a family doctor too? your family doctor! That sounds interesting." Ned said unenthusiastic about dealing with kids.
"Yes, you could say such thing!" Muriel replied.
"Speaking of family Muriel! I hope you don't mind me asking, can I see your kids? I'm not fond of kids in general, but I feel like yours might be an exception, judging by how cute you are.
And if you don't mind, how old are they at the moment?"
"Oh, my little angels? of course you can see them! Well, The triplets are almost three years old now, As for Yurei and Tacito they are both seven."
"Hold it there Muri? Matilda spoke only of the triplets? I didn't know there were other kids?
Aren't you like 24 years old now? when did you even have two seven years olds? weren't you a teenager by the age the other two kids could've been born?!" Ned asked.
Muriel chuckled, "Matilda only spoke of my Naturally born children? I wonder why...well the ones I gave birth to are indeed only the triplets."
"So Yurei and Tacito, are adopted?" Ned asked.
"Indeed Neddie, and I love them as much as I love my triplets, all my five children mean the world to me.
For Yurei, he is actually my nephew, an only child my older sister left behind." Muriel replied with a hint of sadness in his voice.
"Coming to think of it, before the Kingdom was ruled by you for the past seven years, it used to be a Queen after the previous rulers deceased, that means...!"
"The queen is or was my sister, Older sister... my parents have left the world earlier than expected, it is a bit of a tragedy to talk about it.
My parents as everyone knew, died both when I was just seven years old, my sister Mallory who was just fourteen at that time, she had to grow up before her time and become a queen.
it was a difficult time for everyone, especially for Mallory when she manifested as an alpha, she hated it, and she hated her new job.
The attack that happened on me years ago, the one you save me from, was an attempt to force her out of the throne by her enemies, and it was not the last of what she has seen from them.
The constant stress, her obsession with being the perfect ruler and Yurei's unexpected birth seven years ago, all drove her to the edge in the worst way.
One day her son was born, and the next Mallory was gone."
"Did Mallory just walk away from the throne? from you and her kid?! so you had to step up to become a king at sixteen and Also a mother?" Ned asked surprised.
Muriel nodded with his head, "I raised Yurei by myself, and when I turned eighteen I officially named him my child, I do not share much of my personal life with the public, although I Know that this castle has holes and rumors do circle around me all the time.
I am surprised how people only heard of the triplets...it could be possible it is related to the scandal their father put me through... people love romantic scandals."
"And what about the other kid? Tacito?" Ned asked, "I adopted him right after his misfortune happened." Replied Muriel.
"How did you come across that child? was he the child of someone you knew, like Yurei?" Ned asked.
Shaking his head "Well no, I was out on a summer night with sir Delun and his unit, the knights wanted to celebrate Garrick's 21 birthday and I insisted myself on joining them.
I just wanted to make Garrick's birthday a special one, because that year was a tiresome one for him, so I was out with them as a friend rather than a king.
They picked a spot they knew from training for a picnic, and we were having a good time and as we chatted...
The knights told me about a shack where an omega man who practices magic and his little boy live peacefully, and they said that sometimes during training, they get to watch Tacito play football with his mother.
And sometime they would hear the sound of violin the mother plays, coming from the direction of the shack.
And as we talked... Tacito's misfortune happened.
i shall never forget that moment from two years ago, when I walked in on that horrible murder scene.
It terrified both me and Garrick when we found Tacito running towards our picnic spot, shaking from head to toe with blood all over his face and mouth." Muriel said.
Stunned, "You Found him all bloody? what about his mother, what happened to that man?" Ned asked.
"Long before we came...Someone attacked Tacito and his mother in their own house, they fatally injured the Mother leaving him dead in that house.
As for Tacito, he managed to run with his life somehow and hide in between the trees.
Tacito waited until he spotted us, and ran towards us crying and spitting blood." Muriel replied.
Ned flinched in horror at the story, he reached to the bottle next to him, to pour himself a glass of water.
"Whomever attacked Tacito, cut the little boy's tongue off, I am not sure why they did that, but that was why there was so much blood coming out of his mouth, it was a miracle he made it alive after all."
Hearing these words, Ned was horrified, he involuntarily dropped the glass of water to the ground, thankfully it shattered away from from him, without injury him.
Surprised and worried, Muriel instantly checked on Ned, "Leave the glass do not touch it Ned, are you alright?!" he asked checking Ned's horrified expression.
"They did what? th-they ...omg *gagging* I think I'm going to get sick!" Ned blurted out holding his mouth, Muriel handed him another glass of water.
"That is how I felt when we brought Tacito to a hospital after finding him, the doctor herself that day nearly fainted! she was as shaken up as you." said Muriel.
Ned's eyes welled up with tears, "Can I see them? I wanna see those two boys, please."
Muriel nodded with a yes, the pair Got up with Ned following the young king outside his office.
In few minutes of walking, they made it to a spacious looking room, and when they stepped inside, the sound of violin playing filled Ned's ears.
The servants that were watching over the room, all bowed down to Muriel as he guided Ned inside the room that was filled with all sorts of toys, dolls and books and basically everything that can keep a child entertained.
In the center of the room, was one boy with Medium-length layered chestnut hair and porcelain skin, that boy was sitting by a canvas with his back facing them as he worked enthusiastically on a painting of a white rabbit.
Meanwhile, another boy similar in age with limestone skin-tone and blonde-grey hair (White hair) that was chin length, was as well facing everyone with his back, that boy was by the veranda playing the violin in a sad yet beautiful tone.
Judging from the violin, Ned could easily tell the boys apart.
Both boys were deeply focused on what they were doing, without noticing the presence of the adults standing there.
"The one by The balcony playing this music is Tacito, and the one painting is Yurei right?" Ned whispered, Muriel nodded slightly impressed.
It's only when Yurei accidentally dropped his painting brush, that he noticed Muriel and Ned in the room, As he glanced at them, the boy's heterochromic eyes were identical to Muriel.
"Mother!" in a second, Yurei jumped from his seat, happily hugging Muriel who hugged him back tightly.
