the story of the Higanbana Family

With the battle now over Kamakura and Yanma seperated from Kaneki and after he was back to his usual self Kamakura said something about his family lineage.

And now he tells a story of a Demon Knight of hundreds of years ago.

Kamakura: you kids ready?

Kamakura: alright, let me tell you the story of the Demon Knight Higanbana and the family of flowers.

Kaneki, Shino, Yuuka and Miku's thoughts*

(Wait? I've heard of this story already)

Kamakura narrating*

It all started 600 years ago.

There was A young Demon Knight named Higanbana she was an expert of poisons and creator of the Higanbana Sword.

She was very powerful but one day after a battle against a Evil Demon lord, she was heavily injured and she had tried to get help but couldn't find anyone capable of helping her.

She flew to many places on earth but her injuries were too severe.

One day she was flying above Japan but because of how long she was injured and wasn't treated she had an infection and fell.

But when she woke up she was in a house full of bandages.

She tried to get up but a voice saying "wait your injuries aren't healed yet!"

And when she looked it was a young human as old as her 20 years old.

The young man took care of her while she was healing.

Higanbana checked her injuries and noticed that her injuries are healing really fast.

When she was able to walk she went outside the house and found herself in a farm.

Apparently the young man who took her in was a farmer she was surprised that a farmer was able to heal her injuries.

She waited for the young man to return to ask him some questions.

When the young man got back he was happy to see Higanbana standing.

He asked her "are your injuries healed?" And she said "not really i still can barely walk but I'm alright"

Demon Knight Higanbana wanted to know how the young man was able to treat her injuries.

He then revealed that he used a mixture of flowers, before she could ask what flowers he used he asked her a question.

"Are you by any chance the Demon Knight Higanbana?"

Surprised that he knew what she was she asked him a question.

"Y-yes, but how did you knew?"

He then answered

"Well i saw these papers containing the ingredients for your poisons"

She was very scared that he'll might sell the papers but he gave them back to her and said.

"Don't worry I didn't tell anyone about it and Its an honor to serve the Demon Knights"

He even said.

"You can stay here for the time being until you can fight"

The danger of the evil Demon lord was still present and considering she's still very injured she needed to prepare.

So she did take on his offer for the span of 3 months she lived with him in his farm in peace, she learned how to use flowers to make medicine and by time she grown to like the young man.

But when she was fully healed they made a promise to each other.

"Once I defeat the Demon lord lets meet again and be together forever"

And after he agreed and before she left he gave her the flowers he used to heal her one of them being a flower she was named after a black Higanbana.

She accepted the flowers and then left.

She then started making preparations for her battle and with her knowledge of poisons and medicine she created a sword made of flowers, The Higanbana Sword.

With that sword she was able to create poisons that are 1000x more deadly than cyanide.

The creation of the sword lasted for 6 months and when she used it she faced of the evil Demon lord, she won.

And after defeating the Demon lord, she was crowned the Queen of poisons.

But because of the amount of damage The Evil Demon lord had done she had to help fix everything and so.

After 2 years of helping she decided to fulfill her promise to the young man, at the time she was in Greece so it took a while for her to get back to Japan.

But when she finally arrived at his home she saw something she never thought she would see.

The young man with another woman she thought it was his relative but then... An old woman that was walking by saw her and said:

"Oh your looking at that beautiful couple young lady?, you should know they were just recently married"

Hearing that she was saddened.

She was afraid so she ran away.

When night came she was in a cave and she was so sad she cried and yelled Why?! Why did you break our promise?!

But she remembered how happy the young man was and thought.

"Maybe he has forgotten"

So she wiped her tears and went to the young man's home.

When she arrived she knocked the door.

Then it was opened by the young man.

And when their eyes met again she said:

Hey... Its me Higanbana.

The young man was shocked but decided to let her in.

After meeting with his wife she sat down and explained everything, and after explaining everything the wife of the young man decided to leave them alone to catch up.

When they were left alone the young man apologized, because he forgotten about their promise he felt really guilty.

But Higanbana forgave him so she decided to give him a gift as a reward for helping her when she almost died.

Her blood.

The young man didn't like that idea but Higanbana said:

"My blood will make you and your family capable of using powers unlike any other"

The young man did decline but she said:

"You have no right to decline, please accept my gift this might be the last time we'll see each other"

He did accept the gift in the end.

He drank her blood but didn't feel any different, and with that she said she was going to leave but the young man insisted she stay for a while.

But because she couldn't bare looking at him anymore she wanted to cry so the man said:

"In the future! My descendent will find your descendent and they'll fulfill our promise!"

Hearing that she was relieved by a little and she replied saying:

"Heh, I just hope that we'll be reincarnated as those descendants"

And so she left without looking back.

Kamakura: and that is where it ends...

???: wow, that story was so sad!

???: yeah! She saved the world but couldn't be with her love!

???: yeah! I almost cried!

Shino: that really was a sad story...

Kaneki: i hate to break it but how does this explain my family lineage exactly?

Kaneki said without hesitation.

Kamakura: well, My friend that is because you are the descendant of that young man.

Everyone: HAAAAH?!

Kaneki: WHAAAAAAT!!!???

Kamakura: if your wondering "how?" That's because the scent of the Demon Knights are in your blood.

Natsuki: wait so does that make him a Demon Knight?

Kamakura: nope it doesn't he has to be directly related to the Demon Knights to be one. Well with that said Bye-bye!

Kamakura wanted to leave so he started turning into black goo.

Kaneki: Hey?! Is that all?!

Kamakura: yes Kaneki and that power unlike any other was the power to combine with the Beast Knights.

Kaneki: !!!

Kamakura: well see you later BUT ALSO! Send me some manga soon alright?

Saying those last words he disappeared.

Everyone: No way...

Kaneki's thoughts*

(No way, i-i had the blood of the Demon Knights?!)

Ryueki's thoughts*

(No way?! This can't be! At this rate he'll become my rival!)

Shino's thoughts*

(No way... That means there's a chance that I'll still lose him?! No! I can't let that happen! I won't let him be burdened by the promise of his ancestors!)

Natsuki's thoughts*

(Poor Kaneki-kun he seems afraid, I'll talk to him later)

Miku's thoughts*

(Onii-chan... Has a very heavy burden. But. I won't lose him to the Demon Knights!)

Yuuka's thoughts*

(I won't let him be taken by the Demon Knights!)

Chikao's thoughts*

(I see... Kaneki I'll make sure you don't get taken from us).

With the revalidation that Kaneki has the blood of the Demon Knights what will he do?
