Batta's Story

After A grasshopper named Batta's sudden appearance Kaneki decided to bring her with them on their expedition and now they stopped for a bit to have dinner.

Kaneki: Mmh~ so good, Sachi this Beef Gyudon is so good.

Sachi: hehe~ thanks, but you have to thank Miyu-chan before I left 3 months ago she thought me how to make it.

Kaneki: really? That's great.

Keiko: What does this Miyu-chan actually look like? I'm kinda curious.

Itsuki: same here, you two talk about her a lot.

Natsuki: I'm quite curious too.

Azusa: same here.

Kaneki: sigh~ I really don't like doing this but-

Sachi: here take a look.

Sachi showed a picture of Yuuka from 3 years back although not really.

Natsuki: this is Miyu-chan? I'm honestly surprised, she didn't look the way I expected.

The picture that showed a girl with a Short blue hair, gold yellow eyes and D-cups.

Kaneki: so what did you expect?

Natsuki: I expected her to have long black hair and wears glasses.

Kaneki: ohh.

Sachi: I see. Well, this is Miyu-chan she is the smartest amongst Project Kizuna.

Kaneki: and I'm arguably smarter than her.

Yuuka: well, that's interesting. Anyways what is Batta-chan doing over there?

Everyone looked towards the insect familiars.

Batta: now say Senpai Sen-pai.

Ku-kun: Wata!

Batta: no Sen-pai.

Mo-chan: Mo!

Batta: sigh~ man teaching my kohai's how to speak is really difficult.

Kaneki: Batta.

Batta: I'll be right back you 5 just eat alright?

Ku-kun: Ku!

Mo-chan: Moth!

Miracle: Mira!

Heike: Hei!

Yanma: ya!

Batta: good.

Batta then came to Kaneki and got on top his head.

Batta: what is it Kaneki?

Kaneki: what were you doing with Ku-kun and the others?

Batta: I'm teaching them how to talk.

Sachi: really? Thanks for that.

Batta: you're welcome.

Shino: by the way Batta-chan Kaneki mentioned you disappeared 12 years ago right? Where have you been?

Yuuka: yeah, I get that you would be sad that one of your masters died, sorry for saying that Kaneki.

Kaneki: it's cool.

Yuuka: but why didn't you come back?

Batta: sigh~ well I guess I can tell you kids but first, Can you give me a taste of these food they smell delicious.

Kaneki: here say Ahh.

Batta: ahh.

Kaneki fed a piece of his Beef Gyudon to Batta.

Batta: so good! Alright, now listen closely mostly you Kaneki. It all started 12 years ago.

Flashback*

When Tohru died I was saddened and when I saw Kaneki who witnessed his mother's death right in front of him, I knew I failed to protect their family.

I was given to Tohru and Her husband Atsuo by Tohru's parents Kotarou Satsuma and Shiho Satsuma as their familiar to protect the Higanbana family and because I failed I made a decision to get stronger.

So I left the Higanbana family and trained myself while traveling around Japan. It was honestly very difficult since I had nothing to eat but since I'm a grasshopper I can eat plants though I preferred meat.

I trained for many years though I always thought of going back home but the thoughts of not being strong enough to protect the family scared me and I didn't want to see Kaneki's sad face again so I continued to train.

At some point I wasn't able to eat much and then I passed out I thought I was going to die not being able to see my family again that's until I was saved.

Flashback cut*

Kaneki: I am so sorry I've put you through all that.

Batta: it's alright, my duty is to protect your family so I'll do anything to fulfill that.

Flashback*

When I woke up I actually saw some very familiar faces it was Tohru and Atsuo's friends.

Querxes Preston, Robo Robeca, and Kirin Kodama.

Flashback cut*

Kaneki: wait, what?!

Batta: you know them?

Kaneki: I don't just ''know" them! I'm their student!

Batta: what?! Really?! They didn't tell me! Also why are you their student? They're very powerful people.

Kaneki: I want to get power so I can make the 2 tree's of power grow so I can eat the fruits they bare and bring Mom back to life.

Batta: What! That's dangerous! You should-

Kaneki: you can't stop me Batta I've already gained a lot of power so there's no stopping me.

Batta: fine then, but I'm still gonna protect you Kaneki.

Kaneki: I don't need protection.

Batta: Bu-

Ryueki: hey can you two stop arguing and continue the story?

Batta: shut up I only listen to the Higanbana family or their friends.

Yuuka: You really like the Higanbana family huh?

Batta: of course! Well anyways you can't stop me from protecting you Kaneki so don't even try to stop me.

Kaneki: sigh~ fine.

Batta: alright! Back to the story.

Flashback*

After I met them, they fed me some food then they actually trained me and I continued to do so for a few years though I wouldn't been lying if I said I wasn't lonely.

Despite being very strong now I actually felt really scared that's until I heard about Kaneki from Robeca sensei.

She said.

"Kaneki is leaving Shimotsuki tomorrow find something, we need you to go back to him"

End of flashback*

Batta: When I heard your name I was overjoyed but I was scared but I really wanted to see you so I went back to Shimotsuki and I tried finding you.

Kaneki: I see, so that explains why you hitbmy windshield.

Batta: not really, I actually saw you guys at Shimotsuki when you kids were just leaving. I saw you from the top of a building. I immediately knew I saw Kaneki just by his face. Though he looks like a girl I can definitely tell that the person I see was Kaneki.

Miku: really? Then why didn't you came to us when we were about to leave?

Batta: you all immediately left when I was close by! I had catch a bullet train just to catch up with you.

Chikao: oh poor thing.

Kaneki: ohh, sorry but why didn't you call?

Batta: how can I call you exactly when you're far away?

Natsuki: so, the only way you could think on how to get Higanbana-kun's attention was.

Batta: yup, by flying towards his windshield. It was very worth it though.

Kaneki: yeah, sorry about that.

Batta: anyways that's the story I guess.

Azusa: I see, it must've been hard right?

Batta: yeah it was, but I'm just happy to see my family again.

Kaneki: I'll introduce you to my step-sister when we get home.

Batta: cool!

Kaneki: and I'll tell dad on what you've been up to.

Batta: !!!

Kaneki: anyways, let's finish up dinner we still have a long trip ahead of us.

Everyone: okay.

Everyone then focused on eating and after they were done they cleaned the bento boxes and went back inside the van.

Kaneki: okay, everyone you can go to sleep now.

Yuuka: are you sure you don't want to switch drivers?

Kaneki: do any of you have any drivers license?

No one responded.

Kaneki: well then, rest up everyone. Goodnight.

Sachi: Goodnight everyone.

Everyone: goodnight.

Everyone besides Kaneki closed their eyes and started to sleep.

Kaneki: alright time to go.

Batta: focus alright?

Kaneki: I know.

Kaneki then started driving.

Yuuka's thoughts*

(Tomorrow we'll probably be near Hokkaido tomorrow should be a great time to get the flowers we need I should get them with Kaneki.)

With the Relic team heading close to Hokkaido will they get there in time?

In an unknown location*

???: sir, we've found him! The one who killed 19 of our men 12 years go.

???: really? Where is he?

???: he's going to the same place as our troops they're trying to find the Crown of Urizen.

???: we cannot let him have it! Get it before he does!

???: yessir! I'll command our troops!

Danger is getting closer what will happen in this expedition?
