Nigel rushed back home after the meeting with the directors. Though had didn't look tense or bothered much about the things that were happening, he knew that whoever it was that had Bryan had him on the radar and will attack him at any time.
The warning message he received the previous night sounded similar to what Natasha had told him the last time he saw her. He still could not understand how she was able to get inside his office and study while the doors were shut and locked tight from the outside and no one had opened it for her to enter.
Her disappearance from the house was still a mystery and now she could disappear and appear where ever she wanted with ease. Was she able to do it before? He asked himself but he knew that was not the case. Natasha was like every other normal human who was without hidden supernatural abilities.
But no matter how many times he tries to convince himself otherwise her face always pops right into his mind as the one behind the killing. Which was even more bizarre to him.
He walked into the study that was once that of Mr. Wallace, Natasha's father. He sat down and took out his phone from his pants pocket. Dialing a number, he waited for the other party to pick up and respond.
"Have you any lead on her whereabouts?" He asked immediately to call was answered. His grip on the phone tightens when he did not get the answer that he desired. Finding Natasha was like finding a needle in a haystack. He knew it would be difficult to find her but this was too difficult. Just who was it that had taken her out of the house that was under his supervision? "You are all useless." He said and hung up the phone.
He paced back and forth in the study thinking how he was going to find her and what he would do once he gets his hands on her. But that would be after getting those documents from her. The documents of the Wallace group were the most important things that he wanted and she took them from under his nose right in his presence and he could not do anything to stop her.
He stopped pacing back and forth and headed for the door. He walked out and up the stairs heading for the room where Natasha was last seen. He was so angry before that he had not paid much attention to the room and what must have happened in there, it was time for him to inspect the room himself and see what he could find.
His two bodyguards followed him to the room as if they were afraid he would disappear if they did not follow him. Reaching the room, one of them opened the door for him while the other stepped in before Nigel followed behind.
Torchlights were turned on to enable them to see clearly. Nigel walked over to where the chains that were used to bind Natasha lay and squatted do sitting in his heels. He touched the chains that had broken and turned to face one of the guards, "What quality were these chains?" he asked.
The guard looked at him not sure how to answer him because it was obvious that he knew what quality there was because he was the one who had ordered for them. "The best quality, Sir." He answered and Nigel gave him a dagger look.
"Search the room." He Said standing to his feet. "Find out if there are any trap doors or secret passages in here." He ordered and no matter how absurd his orders were as they were standing in the room at the highest point of the manor, and there was little to zero chance of having a secret passage as it would have been if it were in the basement or somewhere else, the guards did as they were told."Yes, boss." they said and started looking around.
while Nigel continued to stare at the chains lying on the cold floor. There didn't look like the sawed but rather squashed by something or someone. But who was strong enough to break chains of such quality? He couldn't think of anyone with such inhuman strength. The mystery behind Natasha's disappearance just keeps getting thicker.
Bending once again, he picked up a broken piece of the chain and examined it closely. As if confirming his suspicion, he caught sight of a small dent on it that was the size and shape of a finger on the shackles that were supposed to be around her wrists. The bolts were still intact and everything around it but the metal was broken with shared brute force.
He drops the chain to the ground and stood so abruptly that one would think he had been electrocuted. Stepping away from there he looked at the walls and even he could see that there were no hidden doors in the room. He would have known if there were any. "Did you find anything?" He asked anyway. One could never be too sure.
"There is nothing here, boss." They answered and stepped back to his side.
"You won't find anything." He said and turned around to leave the room. He had gotten the answer he came for but at least he knew that whoever had taken her was not some simpleton. Which gave him another reason to find her as soon as possible.
The guards looked at each other before looking back at him and wondered why he had asked them to search the room if he already knew that there was nothing there. They walked with large strides to catch up to him before he turns his anger to them.
Nigel entered his room and locked the door before going into the bathroom for a shower because he needed one at the moment to calm his body and mind. After spending some time in the bathroom, he came out and stopped at the door of the bathroom when his eyes caught sight of a piece of paper that he was sure was not there before on the table.
