Kazuki was already making preparations to reinstate Hinata's eyes, but he had bigger plans in mind. He aimed to evolve her eyes into Tenseigan, a forbidden technique that required sacrificing three pairs of Byakugan. While this method was not guaranteed to succeed, Kazuki had modified it to increase the chances of success. However, he needed his sensei's permission to proceed, as well as more pairs of Byakugan to improve the odds.
Inside a ritual chamber, Kazuki had completed all the necessary preparations. As he stepped out of the chamber, Hinata and the old man were waiting for him. Hinata had calmed down somewhat after recognizing Kazuki, while Hizashi stood by her side. Kazuki had already explained the situation to them, and although they initially hesitated, he convinced them that utilizing the eyes of the main family members slated for execution would not go to waste. With over eighty pairs of Byakugan available, Kazuki believed he could create at least three pairs of Tenseigan. However, he did not disclose the exact number of eyes he needed, as he wanted to confirm the possibility of obtaining a pair of Tenseigan for himself after discussing it with Tsunade.
Because the village rules clearly state that the Byakugan of traitors will no longer belong to the Hyuga, but will be designated as spoils of war, In the original canon, Danzo was able to collect the Uchiha Sharingan without much opposition solely because he had convinced the elder council that the Uchiha had initiated a coup. Kazuki shared only minimal information with Hizashi and the Hyuga elder as a form of courtesy. They were Hinata's family, He wanted to avoid any misunderstandings in the future, especially regarding his intentions with the Tenseigan.
As Kazuki delved into the matter, the door to the room swung open, and in stepped Tsunade, adorned in her Hokage robe, her expression somewhat somber. Kazuki quickly discerned that his master must have thrown a tantrum upon receiving his scroll.
"Hokage-sama," both the Hyuga Elder and Hizashi greeted Tsunade promptly, while little Hinata sought refuge behind the old man, sensing the new presence in the room.
However, Tsunade's focus was on the little ANBU standing there. With a brisk nod to acknowledge the greetings, she commanded, "Leave us. I need to have a chat with my student. Do not disturb us until I call for you." Her tone left no room for negotiation, prompting everyone, including her personal ANBU guards hidden in the shadows, to vacate the room.
Once they were alone, Tsunade wordlessly made her way to the couch and slumped onto it with a weary sigh. "I almost messed up, didn't I?" she questioned, her gaze fixed on the ceiling as if searching for answers.
Kazuki understood that his master was grappling with the weight of her responsibilities. Despite having exceptional Shinobi under her command, she insisted on micromanaging everything, striving to portray herself as someone she wasn't.
Without hesitation, Kazuki settled cross-legged on the floor in front of Tsunade. He observed her, sensing her turmoil, and then spoke gently, "Listen, Sensei. Making mistakes is an inevitable part of life. We all make them. What truly matters is how you learn from and grow from these mistakes. I originally wanted to knock some sense into you, but seeing you like this pains me."
A few minutes of silence enveloped the room as Kazuki remained seated before his sensei, offering her the space to contemplate her decisions without interruption.
"Sigh, you brat, you really wanted to hit me, didn't you?" Tsunade collected herself after a few minutes of silence. Finding her clarity, she turned to her student, who was seated cross-legged on the floor before her. Though she couldn't see his face behind the ANBU mask, she could almost sense a sheepish grin.
"Come now, Sensei. How could I even think of something like that? You must be mistaken," Kazuki replied, a hint of fluster in his tone mixed with a teasing edge.
"Spare me your act, brat. Have you forgotten that I can sense emotions after making a contract with the nature beast? I almost read through the surface emotions of most of the Hyuga out there. Although the branch family thinks they're paying for their mistakes, I have a feeling they're being punished indiscriminately despite being under the main family's control." Tsunade's words were laden with concern as she delved into the deeper implications of her recent actions.
"So what are you planning to do, Sensei? Do you still want to indiscriminately kill the innocent?" Kazuki questioned, knowing that his master had regained her clarity and confidence.
Tsunade retrieved a scroll and penned down new orders regarding the branch family members who were subjected to manipulation. Once she completed writing down the new orders, she sent out a pulse of chakra, and an ANBU from her personal guard flickered next to her in a kneeling position.
"Hokage-sama," the ANBU greeted.
Tsunade gestured for the ANBU to stop with formalities and handed him the scroll. "Carry out these orders to the letter. Let them know that I will personally meet with them once all the matters have been settled," Tsunade commanded, and with a nod, the ANBU vanished to carry out her orders.
"So tell me, Brat, why have you asked for me here? Your message also said that you wanted to discuss an important matter regarding those main family traitors. Don't tell me you want me to spare them too. If you say something like that, I will tear your mouth," Tsunade questioned Kazuki, who now stood in front of her. His original message mentioned the issue of branch Hyuga and also mentioned a matter regarding the main family traitors.
"I will cut to the chase, Sensei. I want to extract the Byakugan of all those traitors and help Hinata evolve her Dojutsu to a higher form of Byakugan, the Tenseigan," Kazuki declared his intentions.
"Oh, you want to help your little girlfriend power up now, do you?" Tsunade couldn't help but let out a chuckle. She knew it wasn't the moment for teasing her student, but she couldn't hold back the comment.
Kazuki simply huffed, not wanting to comment about his love life, and continued discussing the matter he wanted to address. "Sensei, I can create three pairs of Tenseigan with the number of main family Byakugan at hand. I want your permission so that I can keep two pairs and leave the last one for Hinata," Kazuki explained, discussing plucking out these traitors' eyes as if it were plucking mere vegetables. He didn't consider those who betrayed their own kin humans anymore, so he didn't care about how others would feel about it.
"Wait, Kazuki. I understand that you want one for yourself, so what about the second one? I know the Hyuga have no claim to these eyes anymore, but is it wise to take away the majority from them, especially with the current Hyuga's condition?" Tsunade couldn't help but ask. With Hyuga's current condition, if what her student said about Tenseigan was true, then two pairs of Tenseigan would empower them tremendously.
"Well, if they want, they can use their own efforts to grow stronger. Hinata is the only exception. Even if they used their original forbidden art, they can't guarantee a single Tenseigan with all those eighty pairs of Byakugan," Kazuki explained, his resolve unwavering.
"So what about the last pair? What do you want to do with that? Wait, don't tell me you have hidden another girlfriend somewhere without even me knowing. Tell me, tell me, is it little Tenten? I see that she keeps worshipping you. I even noticed a picture of you hidden under her pillow," Tsunade, now back to her goofy form in front of her student, was not caring much about the issue of the Tenseigan as she had absolute trust in her student. She was only curious about who the last pair was meant for.
"Aaaah, how did you even become a Sannin? You know what? Maybe I should start writing those love letters again to Ero Sennin. Having Jiraiya-sama behind your back fawning all over you should teach you a lesson," Kazuki commented with frustration. Kazuki wasn't a saint; he had done many things behind his master's back to reignite a spark in her love life. However, poor Jiraiya always ended up becoming the scapegoat.
"You Bastard! So it was you who sent those letters to Jiraiya using my name?" Tsunade roared and sent out a punch, which Kazuki easily dodged. He was not foolish enough to confront his master's punch head-on.
After about ten minutes or so, Tsunade huffed; the little bastard was too slippery, his Hiraishin was simply a cheat, especially when he didn't need a marker. She couldn't even land a proper punch. Kazuki stood by the door with glee, ushering Hinata and the rest into the room to carry on with the transplant and the fuinjutsu ritual.
As the Hyuga entered the room, they were surprised by its condition, but none dared to utter a sound. The originally serene room now looked as if it had experienced a storm, a result of Tsunade holding back; if not, the entire building would have come crashing down with her punch.
Kazuki led Hinata into the ritual chamber, followed by the old man. As they walked into the chamber, an ANBU delivered a scroll to Kazuki. The scroll contained the Byakugan that Kazuki wanted to use for the ritual, which Tsunade had sent an ANBU earlier to collect. Tsunade and Hizashi stood outside the chamber so as not to disturb Kazuki during the process.
Right then, Hiashi entered the room. His eyes had regained much more clarity; it seemed like Hiashi must have paid a visit to Kenshi.
As Hiashi entered the ritual chamber, he looked visibly steady, his usually composed demeanor being rebuilt even under the weight of recent events. He stood next to the old Hyuga elder, seeking solace and support in the presence of his kin.
Meanwhile, Kazuki began the delicate process of reinstating Hinata's eyes. With practiced precision, he carefully removed the bandages that covered her empty eye sockets, revealing the raw wounds where her Byakugan once resided. Despite the pain it caused her, Hinata remained remarkably still, her trust in Kazuki evident in the unwavering determination in her expression.
With gentle hands, Kazuki began the transplant procedure, seamlessly connecting the new Byakugan to Hinata's optic nerves. The room was filled with an air of anticipation as everyone watched with bated breath, knowing that this moment could potentially change Hinata's life forever.
Once the transplant was complete, Kazuki turned his attention to the ritual for evolving the Byakugan into Tenseigan. With intricate seals and precise chakra control, he initiated the forbidden fuinjutsu art, Channeling the energy needed to catalyze the transformation, Kazuki placed more than twenty pairs of Byakugan around the fuinjutsu seal at designated spots.
The atmosphere in the chamber grew tense as the ritual unfolded, each moment feeling like an eternity as they waited to see if Kazuki's modifications would indeed increase the success rate. Hinata, though still recovering from the transplant procedure, remained remarkably calm, her faith in Kazuki unwavering.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, the ritual reached its climax, and all the surrounding Byakugan placed on the seal crumbled to dust. A brilliant surge of chakra enveloped Hinata, illuminating the chamber with its ethereal glow. And then, in a breathtaking display of power, Hinata's eyes transformed, evolving into the legendary Tenseigan.
When Hinata's Byakugan finally evolved into the Tenseigan, the ordinarily featureless white eyes gained blue pupils filled with what resembled overlapping white flower patterns. Normally, the transformation would take days to complete, but with Kazuki's intervention along with the sacrifice of close to two dozen pairs of Byakugan, the process was hastened. Finally, after a few minutes, Hinata completely regained her vision. As Kazuki stepped back, a sense of satisfaction washed over him, knowing that he had played a pivotal role in changing the course of little Hinata's destiny.
However, in the meantime, as Hinata's Byakugan evolved into the Tenseigan, two individuals were alerted to the transformation. One was a man lying on his deathbed, and the other was a young teen standing by his side. They were none other than Toneri Otsutsuki and his father, the last two individuals residing on the moon.
"Father, it's a tenseigan. It seems someone on Earth has awakened the Tenseigan," The shock was evident in the teen's voice.
However, on the man's face lying on the bed, there was only pure disgust. "How dare they? How dare these humans tarnish our legacy? They should all be destroyed." Despite being at death's door, the man held immense hatred towards humans who had weaponized chakra. Now, someone from Earth had even awakened their revered Tenseigan.
Cough, cough, "It must be those damn Hyuga. Yes, those exiles who betrayed our ancestors' commands. They must be destroyed. The whole of humanity must be destroyed," the man said, having become consumed by anger and madness.
"But father, did you not tell me that I am to marry the Hyuga princess once I grow up?" Toneri couldn't help but ask, a glint in his eyes as if he were inquiring about his long-awaited personal toy.
"You stupid child! The entire Hyuga clan's purpose is to serve you. You are the last living descendant of our ancestor. You can have all the Hyuga women, for all I care. You just need to ensure our bloodline persists. Now that they have crossed the line, there is no point in remaining here. Go, my son, go down to Earth and fulfill our ancestors' wish for millennia. Destroy the humans. Destroy them all." With a crazed laugh, he ripped out his own eyes, presenting them to his son with his final breath.
