With two senior Jonins on guard duty, Aki could relax for a while and focus on the feeling that had been bugging him since the start of the escort mission.

Princess Kanna was out of her ride and came at the makeshift table the Shinobi had made for dinner. Where she had eaten after commenting on the smell from within the tent.

After chatting with Yugito and others for a while, the princess excused herself back inside the tent for rest.

Aki sat in a meditation pose and let his mind focus on the elusive feeling of connection. It certainly wasn't sage mode. After all, he would turn into something non-human by now if that was the case.

He felt every blade of grass, every herb, and every tree making him feel a connection with every flora around him. The connection was much deeper than him just feeling the connection.

The rustling of leaves and the wind caressing every blade of grass filled the air, but Aki could feel more than just the breeze. It was as if the entire flora within a vast, undefined perimeter was worshiping him.

'Worship?' Aki felt like hitting himself with a Rasengan. Why would he think that plant life was worshipping him?

He wasn't the God of plants, was he?

Aki ended his meditation at this point he felt like he was too distracted to meditate. He decided it was time to call it the night till shift change and he is to guard the parameter.

With that thought, he closed his eyes and slept. Of course, if any ambush happens or in case of emergency, he would either be woken up by others or the commotion, later is worst possible option.

Byakugan vision had already assured him there was no threat in the 70km diameter.

Aki slept like a log till Haruto's voice brought him out of the land of dreams. "Your turn to watch," he said the words that brought Aki back to full focus.

"Let's do this," Aki said and went to patrol, along with Daichi and Kazou.

The sensation of being able to feel the entire nature, the flora, around him was still present which made Aki think about it once more while patrolling.

Each of the group members went in different directions inspecting the metal rods they placed in case of ambush and using them to create a lightning-style barrier.

Furthermore, they also set up paper bombs in the vicinity so if a ninja dares to ambush, they would be in for a rude awakening.

Aki briefly activated his Byakugan to check for threats, finding nothing but fauna of the forest. He found a wild boar near and threw a lightning-imbued kunai at it, ending its life.

Aki picked it up and brought him back to the camp surprising the princess' guards who took it from him. He used the body flicker technique and went back to his patrol.

Aki's mind wandered back to his meditation. Could this strange bond with nature be something beyond just heightened sensory perception? He'd heard legends of clans with special affinities—could this be something new?

A sudden breeze swept through the clearing, rustling the trees. For a moment, Aki felt the wind as more than just air; it seemed to carry whispers, not in words, but in sensation. Almost as if... the forest itself was communicating with him.

Snap.

A small noise pierced his thoughts, pulling him back to reality. Aki's eyes narrowed. It wasn't a large sound, but it came from the direction of the tree line.

Quickly activating his Byakugan, Aki focused on the source of the disturbance. His veins pulsed around his eyes as his gaze pierced through the trees, scanning for any sign of movement.

And then he saw it—a feint silhouette with tenketsu points moving towards their camp. This must be the first one of ambush.

His 70km 360° vision didn't just find one ninja, he found 10. Shooting his chakra to the nearest enemy, Aki set off the paper bomb, alerting his allies.

"Ten enemies—closing in fast!" Aki called out, his voice sharp and steady.

Both Haruto and Yugito woke up promptly in response, Daiki and Kazuo also returned to the camp and were ready for action.

Enemies wasted no time when they realized they were found out and attacked immediately.

But Aki was faster he immediately threw 10 shurikens imbuing each with lightning chakra, making them faster and deadlier.

In case some avoided his shuriken, camp should be ready with this. 3 out of 10 could not avoid the lethal hit and lost their life immediately, while two of them avoided fatal shots getting injured in the process.

The other 5 completely avoided it by either parrying or dodging the incoming projectiles.

At his shout both Kazou and Daichi sprung into action both of them each intercepted one enemy, both chunin.

Kazou and Daichi leaped into action, each targeting a separate chunin. Kazou, with his swift taijutsu strikes, closed in on his opponent.

His hands became a blur, delivering a series of powerful blows that left the enemy reeling. With a final strike, Kazou sent his opponent crashing into a tree, unconscious. He smirked, feeling the adrenaline coursing through him.

Daichi, meanwhile, faced his chunin with a more strategic approach. He weaved through the enemy's attacks, using his agility to sidestep kunai strikes.

In a fluid motion, Daichi sent a kick into the enemy's midsection, which his enemy avoided, and sent a windblade jutsu in his direction.

Despite his looks, Daichi was a competent chunin, he avoided the jutsu and used water stream jutsu to disrupt his opponent.

Kazuo noticed Daichi struggling with a particularly aggressive opponent. Having finished his own fight, He darted to Daichi's side, catching the enemy's blade mid-swing with a kunai.

With a swift twist, Kazuo disarmed the enemy and finished him with a palm strike to the throat. The chunin fell to the ground, defeated.

Meanwhile, Yugito activating her nabi chakra and elongating her nails rushed at an enemy as he entered the clearing. Being the battle maiden she was, the enemy in front of her was easily dispatched.

"Too slow" Yugito muttered under her breath.

Yugito activated her version 1 chakra cloak and lunged forward at another enemy, which was one of the two Jonin. Haruto wasn't the one to stay behind.

He silently disappeared into the shadows and reappeared with a kunai embedded in one of the ninjas.

Now only one enemy remained who had yet to engage. Aki rushed at him activating his partial lightning cloak, which can only cover his feat for now along with his flash step and body flicker jutsu.

He suddenly appeared in front of the final Jonin, now only Aki and Yugito were engaged with the two Jonin that appeared.

Aki activated his shadow clones, summoning about 25 clones that could last for a while, he launched a taijutsu assault on his enemy.

Jonin wasn't incompetent, he easily weaved through the clones, his blade slicing them one by one. But it wasn't enough. A clone gave him a shock with a basic change in chakra to lightning.

Another sent a lightning bomb over, which he avoided with substitution, as this wasn't enough remaining ten clones were running at him with yellow spinning orbs made of chakra.

'Uzumaki Rasengan Barrage' Aki thought to himself.

Avoiding the first clone he skillfully stabbed it in the heart then distanced himself a little, slashing and hacking at the clones.

He successfully ended 6 out of 10 clones, seventh clone ended up hitting his weapon with a Rasengan rendering it unusable.

Before the ninja could switch, real Aki punched him in the gut, while his remaining two clones finished him off with a Rasengan from each side of his head.

Haruto had already arrived here a while ago, but seeing how easily Aki was navigating and leading his opponent, he decided to observe.

Yugito arrived right at the moment when enemy head was crushed to smithereens.

"Excellent! Aki" Haruto commented, "But you should have left him alive for interrogation"

Aki wiped the sweat from his brow, his expression calm. "No need. These guys were just scouts, sent to test us. The real threat is still out there, watching."

With these words, Aki and the Jonin swiftly went back to the camp, he had his Byakugan active during the entire fight, so it was impossible to have missed any enemy.

Back at the camp, Aki saw two figures bound securely to the trees. Yugito and Haruto had restrained the ninjas they had battled, choosing to capture rather than kill.

The reprimand Aki experienced from these two Jonins clearly did not apply to themselves. This showed the difference in experience. Especially when Aki previously restricted himself to only the assassination missions

While opponents of frost ninja were also dead. But having two prisoners was already enough. Here Haruto showed his impressive interrogative skills.

The group of ninjas was mercenaries hired by the higher-ups of land of Frost consistent with the information they received prior to the mission.

While Haruto was doing this, Aki went to the forest to dispose of the enemy jonin's body as he reached near, something crazy happened.
