When we reached the entrance to the Forest of Death, Anko crossed her arms and looked at me. "Brat, what's up with that speed? I didn't hear any of that from the Hokage."
I shrugged, "This is the first time I need to use it."
"Hm .." She hummed as she looked at me, "Well, whatever." Anko waved her hand casually and spoke. "The reason we are here is for a test. If you fail, you will return to the Academy, so listen carefully. Right now, there is a snake carrying a Bento inside the Forest. You must find it, and safely bring the Bento here. Also, the snake won't be farther than 500 meters from the entrance. Do you have any questions? "
I nodded "Is there a time limit?"
Anko smiled, "Yeah, until the snake gets hungry. Anything else?"
When I heard that, I shook my head and used the Shunshin.
If it's until the snake gets hungry, I have no time to waste.
- (POV - Third Person) -
After Kuro left, Anko smiled and also disappeared.
Kuro had already stopped at a huge tree inside the Forest, with 6 clones around him.
The clones split in different directions, while one of them transformed into an eagle and flew away.
Meanwhile, the real one went on.
However, after a while, the clone that had been flying over the Forest disappeared and the location of the snake appeared in Kuro's mind.
He changed direction to the right and increased his speed.
It did not take him long to reach a small clearing, in the center there was a rock and on top, a Bento. Coiled around the rock was a brown snake about 10 meters long.
Thanks to the Stealth of Kuro, the snake was not even aware of its arrival and continued to sleep peacefully.
Kuro took a step and appeared on top of the rock. He picked up the Bento and with another step, he appeared in the place he was before.
However, before he could leave, information reached him from one of his clones.
Apparently, the clone received a surprise attack from behind, causing it to disappear.
Although Kuro already expected this, after all, Anko pointed out that he had to "Bring the Bento safely."
Kuro used the Shunshin and disappeared.
However, when he was halfway to the front door, a masked figure suddenly appeared from behind a tree, launching a spinning kick that hit Kuro in the stomach.
Just as the kick made contact, Kuro was replaced by a log and at the same time, the real one appeared from behind the masked man, also executing a spinning kick that hit the side of the mysterious figure's head.
When the head collided with the tree, the figure burst in a cloud of smoke and a log appeared in its place.
Kuro immediately jumped up and a fireball passed where it had just been and crashed into the tree.
Standing on the tree trunk, Kuro looked at the masked figure for a moment, before putting his index finger and thumb around its mouth and blowing.
'Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique!'
The fireball of around 7 meters traveled at an astonishing speed in the direction of the masked man, forcing him to jump towards a tree branch.
Once he landed, he looked around, but couldn't find any traces of Kuro.
"Not bad, brat." A feminine murmur came from the masked woman before she removed the mask.
- (POV - Kuro) -
'It seems like Anko isn't going to chase me.' I thought after a while without receiving attacks.
It was easy to discover, since I used Observe the moment I saw the masked man.
As for the fight, although brief, it was quite entertaining.
However, my job is to get to the entrance with the Bento, not to fight.
.
Anko was waiting for me when I reached the entrance to the Forest, her arms around her waist and a smile on her face.
I stood in front of her and pulled the Bento out of a storage stamp on my wrist.
Anko raised an eyebrow at that, but she didn't say anything and grabbed the Bento.
She opened it and inside were about 10 kabob sticks with 4 Dangos each.
Anko smiled and nodded, "Looks like you passed, Congratulations. I wouldn't have sent you to the Academy if you failed, though." She said as she sat down on the ground and patted the spot next to her.
I sat down and looked at her curiously.
She put the Bento between us and grabbed a kabob stick. "It's simple, unlike the other teams, I was informed that no additional test was necessary for you. Still, I decided to do it to better understand your capabilities." After saying that, she offered me the kabob stick.
I grabbed it and nodded.
