Ch. 11 Tactical Retreat and Name

"My brother's life is more valuable than some old Jutsu, no matter what. Family comes first." Ai spoke putting the Kumo shinobi into silence.

"Even if we give him the Jutsu. As far as I believe, no matter how much a prodigy Konoha can produce. No one can learn this Jutsu. What's more, being proficient in it." Ai spoke in finality, forcing the others of his village to agree.

Seeing his man no longer hinders him. Ai makes his way toward Shin. When he reaches an appropriate distance, Ai takes out a scroll and tosses it at Shin. Before he did so he said; " I hope you keep true to your words, Uchiha."

" Do not worry, I am a man of my word and as I promise. Let me release him from the genjutsu first." Shin said in a cheerful tone. Shin focuses on Bee as his eyes start to glow red. Just the second pass a huge bellow can be heard from Bee.

"I have managed to break through that freak genjutsu. Bee, wake up. Let's pummel him to death!" Hachibe can be heard as a huge chakra wave emanating from Bee.

Ai swiftly returns to his brother's side and starts to explain the situation to Hachibi. All of this happens under the gaze of Shin. When Hachibi calms down, Bee's body finally slips down unconscious.

"Don't worry, your brother is mentally exhausted. He just needs a few days to rest. Now, you can just go back home. I have got what I wanted." Shin raised his hand holding the scroll, waving it around.

"Wait Uchiha, it looks like your men are ready to end me and my remaining men. A fool they all are. If it's not for you, they are all but ants under my feet.

Either way, I must thank you for keeping your promise. If there is any chance that you no longer find The Land of Fire as a home. We from The Land of Lightning will welcome you with open arms. We could use a strong shinobi such as yourself among our ranks.

As a token, take this. This is a betrayal of your intelligence scroll. Hope You can safely return to Konoha.

Before that, it had been rumored that The Yellow Flash of Konoha was a prime candidate to become the next Hokage. But, as I see it now, you are more qualified than him, Scarlet Ashura of the Uchiha Clan." Ai finished what he wanted to say as he took out a red scroll and tossed it to Shin.

Ai turned around and picked up his brother on his back and made his retreat but it was halted when Shin called out to him.

"Ai of The Land of Lightning, the next candidate for Raikage. I must thank you for your vote of confidence. As for your brother, being a perfect Jinchūriki as he is. In the future with more training and determination. He can proudly call himself 'The Perfect Shinobi Killer'." sharing a node between them, Ai turns around and starts to retreat again.

After seeing Ai was far enough and ensuring there were no more enemies around. Shin releases Susano and makes his retreat toward the cave where his comrades are waiting for him.

As Shin was nearing the cave, he tripe fanning exhaustion. He doesn't want others to realize he can use his eye's ability without affecting his chakra pool. As he was falling, he was caught by Tsuki who placed Shin's arm around his neck and helped Shin take a short distance to the cave.

When they reach the entrance of the cave. The other Konoha ninja was already assembled and celebrating their victory by forcing the Kimo to retreat. Shizune instantly focuses her attention on Shin by asking if he is injured in any way as she examines Shin and realizes that his chakra is low. She took Shin from Tsuki and wanted to bring Shin into the cave to rest but Shin stopped her. Removing himself from Shizune and fixing himself, he faces the group of ninjas in front of him. Realizing Shin's stern look, they settle down giving Shin to speak.

"First, I am proud of all of you for following my order without question and of Tsuki for his quick action when I made my 3rd attack since I didn't have time to warn you.

But I am disappointed at the same time at all of you for wanting to attack after I manage to force the Kumo to retreat. I know you need to have your revenge but I want you to realize that even with my ability, I can only do as much as I did and now I am at risk of chakra exhaustion. And if I order you to attack after I have got what I wanted, can you do anything to Ai?"

Shin looks into everybody's eyes, wanting them to counter him. But everybody just looks down or to the side.

"Now, before I enter the cave to rest. I will give you my order since we still need to defend this position if Kumo sends a counterattack.

I want a team to scout our surroundings since a large part of the forest has been burnt down and placed in traps. Deploy new emergency barriers and make arrangements for the patrolling unit. Report to Tsuki every 30 minutes and if something important comes to me for further order."

Shin turns to Tsuki and continues;

" Senior Tsuki, please take the lead with defense as the objective. I will take over after I recover and anything you are conflicted about, you can come to me. I will take action or give orders appropriately after."

Shin stops Shizune who wants to interject and she simply pouts knowing her words won't be heard. All she wanted was for Shin to rest and recover, but now she can't have what she wanted if anything happens Shin won't listen to her. The others who were watching this interaction just started snickering and murmuring among themselves.

Shin started to move into the cave helped by Shizune. Tsuki seeing Shin had finished giving orders, took over and started giving tasks following the charges.

Reaching the resting zone in the cave, Shizune places Shin down and starts to inject her chakra so that Shin can recover quickly but Shin stops her again.

"It is not needed, I am already recovering. No, don't make that face at me. Go back outside and ask Tsuki for a Jonin and go to the back of the cave with the Jonin.

After everything is settled and explained, let the Jonin bring the available Genin to Tsuki for their next task. And you can continue to heal the injured. All I ask is for you to not blame yourself if there are injuries that can't be healed or if they are already dead during my battle.

Remember, you are not to blame OK? Look at me. Shizune. Do your best and rest so that you can continue to save the injured. Don't force yourself, you can do your best since the crisis has passed. All that is left is the order to return."

Shin looks at Shizune and all she can do is nod at Shin and leave for Tsuki. Seconds later Shizune with a female ninja passes Shin to the back of the cave. After a moment, a group of ninjas led by the female ninja to the entrance of the cave.

After the group passed. Shizune came to Shin gave him a Chakra pill and told him to eat it. When Shin had eaten the pill, Shizune nodded with a smile and returned to the back of the cave.

When Shizune was no longer in sight. Shin started to comprehend his battle with Ai while waiting for his chakra to recover more.

Meanwhile, outside the cave. Konoha ninjas who are doing tasks in groups started to exchange though.

"Words will go out and our unit will be known for causing those bastard Kumo to retreat."

"Don't get ahead of yourself. It's all thanks to Leader Shin and Senior Tsuki we are still alive right now. Mostly Leader Shin. He was even given a battle name by Ai, who is known to be formidable himself. What is it again, Scarlet Red?"

"It's Starlet Ashura! You dunderhead!"

"Enough of that! Ruro-kun go and reported to Senior Tsuki that west-east from the cave had already been deployed with traps"

The ninja named Roro left as ordered with little reluctance since he wanted to continue exchanging thoughts. The leader seeing things are settled calls the remaining team member to head to the next point of the task given.

As they were slowly jogging to the intended point, they passed the scouting team that had just returned as the team made their way to the cave. Seeing the scouting team's demeanor relaxed. The group leader told his team to slow their pace so that Roro could regroup with them.

At the entrance of the cave. Tsuki is having a small meeting with 3 other seniors Jonin, discussing matters at hand and listing options so that they can give to Shin after he recovers.

After receiving the report from the scout team. Tsuki brought out a red scroll embroidered with a crimson lining and a fire symbol at the opening. The other ninja seeing this becomes tense.

When Tsuki finishes reading the scroll, the other seniors become enraged and start to shout showing their disapproval.

"Those dragons dump fools. They dare betray Konoha's trust and are willing to sacrifice Konoha might for their own engender."

" Senior Tsuki, I advise we return this scroll to Leader Shin. So he can personally hand this to The Third Hokage. All we can do is make a report and a statement on all that happens here."

"I second senior Inu's suggestion. But, should we also put the exchange between Leader Shin and that lightning tank in the report?"

Tsuki and Inu looked at their team member of the same rank with a deadpan face. And started to question how this guy even reached his ranking in the first place. Letting out a sigh Tsuki answers the question with a question of his own.

"It looks like this is your first war. To answer your question, answer mine first. Do you think Ai of the Combo A&B would keep Leader Shin's prowess a secret or would he report on Leader Shin and start to make contingency plans and add Leader Shin to the Bingo Book as an added measure?" Tsuki said as he took out a blank scroll and passed it to Inu. Seeing the ninja in question didn't answer he continued.

"As for your answer, we will report everything and hide nothing. Leader Shin said that all we need to do is believe in him help with minor stuff and leave the rest to him. He will be the one who will send the report that Inu is currently making anyway. Now, any more questions? No, good. Everyone can go and do the task that I had given earlier. Inu and I will stay and organize the paperwork and we will join you after." as Tsuki finishes his words, everyone flashes away leaving only two people at the meeting place.

After everyone had left, Inu started to speak as he continued to write on the scroll.

"You look quite distressed. What are you thinking? You know you can share your thoughts with me. We have been fighting side by side for years now, so don't leave anything out. I may be able to help you clear some doubt."

Tsuki was silent for a moment and let out a deep sigh before he started to speak; " I just can't maintain a clear mind with how Ai spoke to Leader Shin. If there is a chance that the Leader felt unwanted and left The Leaf for The Cloud. Konoha will encounter a great threat.

I know what you are thinking about Inu-san. The leader won't leave us for such petty reasons but I can't get it out of my mind."

Inu was silent, he continued to write on the scroll while trying to find the right words to ease his friend's worries.

"Tsuki-san, I am not the Leader. So, my words might mean nothing if what you are worried about actually happens. But, let me ask you this. Do you believe in him?"

Seeing his old friend nods, Inu just smiles and continues; "I know that this is not the only thing you are worrying about. Since our Leader is a Uchiha and the current strife between the Clan and the Village. Your worry is understandable.

Now, if you want an answer that will satisfy your doubt and anxiety. You need to ask the Leader directly, just not now. Let him rest, he had done much not just for us but also for the village. Even the Hokage can't take this matter lightly."

Seeing his friend silent, Inu finishes his work rolls up the scroll, and seals it. He gave the scroll to Tsuki and started to organize the other scroll and papers that needed to be submitted if a retreat order were given, if not it would be to be reviewed later and records would continue as usual in times of war.

Tsuki took the scroll and kept it. He helps Inu and continues his other duties to assist Shin. While he was doing all this, he was praying in his heart that Shin would stay by Konoha's side for he couldn't fathom otherwise.
