Chapter 6

(Hiruzen POV)

Out of the smoke blowing out of my mouth the sight of Hikaru Shiro makes me want to smile. This boy...I remember six years ago when he graduated from the academy the chunin instructor praised him endlessly about his skill in kenjutsu, at the time I ignored it after all Minato had graduated the same time and had shown better results.

Now I can see that was a foolish mistake that I didn't learn of untill just one year ago when an anbu coincidentally saw Hikaru use three A-Rank wind jutsu focused around his style of kenjutsu, not only that but he used all three in conjunction showing incredible skill in wind release. Crescent Moon, a strong continuous attack that can chop up enemies into millions of pieces. White Gyrate, a defensive wind jutsu that can block even peak A-Rank jutsu. And Pale Streak, this is perhaps his best creation ever, a wind release movement jutsu that increases his base speed by over twenty times.

The cold and emotionless face of this sixteen year old boy would cause even the best shinobi to flinch. Sharp eyes that reflect his cold and heartless personality pierce out like a sword. A long scar crosses over his neck showing disastrous injuries from his past achievements over his shinobi career. The katana resting on his lap has a sharp white blade that seems to share the same cold personality as it's owner and the beautiful gold hilt demonstrates the elegant style of kenjutsu well.

Unlike the traditional kimono Hikaru wears a tight fit chakra fiber clothing over several plates of chakra conductive armor that increase the strength of his wind jutsu. Gravity seals are placed all over his body, one on each arm, one on each leg, one on his chest and one on his back. Two blue tattoos shaped like wings cover his collar bones and a white sun covers his entire chest. The tips of his eyelashes are bright blue that turn to white when exposed to chakra.

The aura the brilliant swordsman gives off is frightening, cold and sharp like a deadly blade that will cut you off you dare touch it. Every step he takes exudes the air of a cold winter breeze that is both refreshing and chilling to the bone. It's incredible that such a young man could have such a ridiculous connection to the wind element. Even his chakra seems to be constantly molded into wind nature as if he was born with some type of wind release kekkei genkai.

Just based off appearance Hikaru stands out among the many geniuses in Konohagakure with a heroic face and honorable demeanor.

Hikaru's past is also as clean as his image, his father was a jonin of Konohagakure and the patriarch of a clan directly under me. Unfortunately the clan had too little members and when Hikaru's father passed away the clan was dissolved. Otherwise I would have a closer connection to this promising shinobi.

Someone knocks on the door and I hear a hoarse voice come from outside.

"May I come in Hiruzen."

Before I can respond the knob of the handle turns and Danzo walks in ignoring me and specifically looking at the seated Hikaru. How did he even know that Hikaru was here? I really need to do another anbu check to root out any spies.

Hikaru glances up at Danzo before grabbing a golden scroll with a complicated blood red seal. He waves it like some type of treat you would give to a dog into Danzo's direction.

"I assume you came for this Danzo? I'll give you it if you give me that vacuum wave jutsu of yours."

Danzo squints his eye at the offer and summons a small scroll from his right wrist. Hmm, this is bad, I cannot allow Danzo to get the body of a kekkei genkai user like Gaki. It seems I'll have to pull out a forbidden jutsu from the book of forbidden jutsu.

I cough into my hand a few times to get Hikaru's attention before smiling at him grandfatherly like which most likely didn't improve his impression of me.

"Hikaru my boy you shouldn't be so rash after all Konohagakure has many important jutsu that suit you. Perhaps you would like to take a peek at the flying thunder god jutsu."

Danzo scoffs at this in anger as he storms out of the office very clearly angry. Well now he'll be extremely annoying but at least he won't try to make artificial steel release users which is good.

Hikaru smiles gratefully at me with glints of appreciation brightening his eyes.

"That you for that assistance lord 3rd, Danzo most certainly wouldn't have given me his signature jutsu but would have bargained like some kind of cheap merchant."

A deep laugh comes from my throat from amusement before I look at that teasing smile. This brat definitely knows how to make people laugh, I thought he would have low interpersonal skills but it seems I've underestimated him.

Slowly I rise from my seat and go to the left wall in my office where I tap on a painting three times making a special scroll with blue dragon animated to swim on the paper appear. With a grand swing one of the ends of the scroll falls to the ground displaying the incredibly profound knowledge written down by none other than my sensei the 2nd Hokage, Tobirama Senju.

"Look at this scroll my boy it contains the method to the flying thunder god jutsu as well as the unique water nature focused kenjutsu the 2nd Hokage used."

The sudden change in expression in Hikaru's face startles me slightly before I calm down. This kid should learn to not express himself that creepy smile is something Orochimaru would praise.

"Take this scroll with you along with the two A-Rank wind release jutsu and use them to improve your kenjutsu style."

A serious frown ordains my weathered face as I speak with a grave tone.

"In the past few months trouble has been brewing in the undercurrents of the nations I expect you to be one of my best generals, consider the flying thunder god jutsu my investment."

Hikaru nods as he slides the gold scroll containing Gaki's body to my desk.

"Good luck lord 3rd I hope you will lead Konohagakure for many more years to come."

With that final sentence he disappears in a white blur of dense snow like wind chakra. Hikaru I expect my investment to pay off, perhaps in a few years Konohagakure will have another White Fang, hah, I'm already starting to miss Sakumo.
