Don't know what to call this, does it even matter?

Before you start this chapter, I have made the ANBU stronger than in the original. Also, where did all the comments go?

In the village of Konoha Jiraiya, the Hokage was sitting at his office. Naruto was training at Mount Myoboku and Guy went out on a mission for the Daimyo. Jiraiya was expecting the Akatsuki to make their move soon so he increased the protection around the village, he had the ANBU guarding everywhere.

"Team Delta, is everything fine?" Jiraiya was going through and checking each team to make sure there were no problems. He didn't think the ANBU could defeat the Akatsuki members, but he hoped they could alert him.

"Yes everything is normal" team delta was a part of the ANBU, so they were obviously ahead of regular shinobi with technological advancements. They were using an earpiece to communicate, it was a very short distance and very unreliable but it was the best kind of quick communication.

The ANBU were all sitting in their locations quietly, they didn't want anyone to know they were there. Suddenly the sensor of the group quickly appeared next to the leader, "I feel a strong chakra presence near here."

Before the leader could report this a purple-eyed man appeared in front of him! The man sent a black rod through his stomach killing him instantly! The other ANBU leaped backward but was stopped in the air and sent flying towards the man at an insane speed, the man shot out many black rods piercing and killing all the ANBU in just a moment!

"The time has come." suddenly 6 other people with the exact same eyes appeared behind him, with one other blue-haired girl. "From here on, we'll be splitting into two teams; diversion and search." The Akatsuki member known as Pain used his Rinnegan to check the hidden leaf, "Konoha is surrounded by a spherical barrier that includes underground and aerial coverage. Anyone who enters without permission will most likely be detected. We will first attack from above and confuse the enemy, then we will use our summons to deal more damage."

The blue-haired girl stepped up, "Itachi and Kisame snuck through so easily, but I guess Itachi was a part of the ANBU." one of the Pain's through the animal path into the air and through the barrier.

As soon as the Pain got through Jiraiya was alerted, Jiraiya quickly gave orders to the ANBU, "The Akatsuki has attacked, they were in sector I-B, all teams split into attack teams and evacuation teams!"

The ANBU quickly split up, the attacking team quickly made contact with the enemy, "ANBU sealing formation!" the ANBU quickly got in formation to seal the giant animal that was summoned by the Akatsuki.

A purple wall surrounded the giant 3 headed dog on each side! The ANBU were about to seal it for good until a giant bird swooped down at them realizing the seal! An ANBU member appeared above the giant bird, his Idea was to make it harder for the bird to fly, "Earth Style, Weighted Boulder Jutsu!" with the amount of chakra the ANBU member had put into that jutsu it weighed the animal down considerably making it unable to fly.

Before the ANBU could attack again a Rhino came crashing through buildings destroying everything in sight! Before it could do too much damage it was restrained by a bunch of wooden pillars, "Captain Yamato!" The Animal path was holding off the ANBU by itself, allowing the other paths of Pain to run right into the village!

Jiraiya and Tsunade were watching from the Hokage tower, Jiraiya was ready to attack when needed, only the Akatsuki could do so much damage in so little time. Tsunade had already sent out her summons to heal the injured, there is no telling how many people were already injured.

Countless Shinobi were fighting and being slaughtered in the process, in the middle of this all was Kakashi and the main path, Tendo! "Kakashi the copy ninja, what an honor." Kakashi didn't respond and simply lifted his headband showing off his Sharingan!

Kakashi wasted no time in attacking, he couldn't hold back against the Akatsuki. Pain ran at Kakashi and extended his arm, Kakashi moved his arm up to block but many black rods stabbed through his arm. "What the-" Before he could think he was kicked backward by Pain.

"Tell me, where is Naruto Uzumaki?"

Kakashi narrowed his eyes, 'as I thought, they really want Naruto. But why do they need the tailed beasts?' "Tell me, why do the Akatsuki need the tailed beasts?"

"Those who cannot understand true pain, cannot understand true peace, that is why we Akatsuki want the beasts. We will show the world true pain, to bring about peace."

Kakashi wasted no time, "Water style, water dragon jutsu!" The water dragon dove at Pain but Pain easily dodged. Kakashi was suddenly in front of Pain, but Pain was quick and stabbed Kakashi! But instead of blood, Kakashi turned into pure lighting! Kakashi was quick to counter, "Raikiri!"

Kakashi was positive that this strike would land but before he reached Pain he was shot backward by an invisible force. 'What the hell was that? I've never heard of that jutsu!' before he could come up with a plan he was pulled towards Pain!

Kakashi thought fast and used an iron chain to wrap around a rock to keep himself from being pulled in. Kakashi looked over to see a slug on his shoulder, it was Katsuyu! "Lady Tsunade and Jiraiya said to go to them immediately!"

Kakashi didn't know how to get out of this situation, "There is only one option, Kamui!" Tendo Pain sensed the chakra coming from his eye and managed to dodge the attack, but in turn, Kakashi had escaped.

Kakashi didn't know why he was being called for, but an order was an order, especially in a crisis like this. Kakashi quickly made it to Jiraiya. "Gook you are here, we can hold off Pain here for now, but I need you to go get Naruto."

Kakashi was shocked, "Why? Won't that just be giving the enemy what he wants?"

Jiraiya shook his head, "If Naruto has mastered what I think he has, then he has far surpassed even me."

"But won't the trip to Mount Myoboku take at least 3 days?" Kakashi didn't know how he could reach it in time unless they were planning on fighting 3 days straight!

"I have a toad that can summon you partway there, but make sure you get a move on, we need him as quickly as possible, especially if Madara shows up."

Kakashi nodded, he wasn't like Guy who could probably make a 3 day trip in a day, but he would do what he could. He just had to hope that Konoha could hold off long enough!
