Zabuza's hands blurred as he weaved through a series of hand signs, his eyes gleaming with murderous intent. "Water Release: Great Waterfall Technique!" he roared. A massive wave of water erupted from his position, rising high into the air. The roaring cascade crashed down with the force of a raging river, heading straight toward Team 7 and their sensei.
Kakashi's eyes narrowed, quickly assessing the incoming threat. 'He's trying to overwhelm me by targeting the kids.' he thought. Without missing a beat, Kakashi rapidly formed hand signs of his own. "Earth Style: Earth Wall Jutsu!" he called out, slamming his hands on the ground. A sturdy wall of earth shot up in front of him, standing firm against the relentless torrent of water.
The immense water crashed against the earth wall, sending sprays of water in all directions. Naruko, Hitomi, and Yuto instinctively shielded their faces, trying to keep their footing on the soaked ground. They were saved by their Sensei's jutsu as he was standing infront of them using the earth wall jutsu.
"Kakashi-sensei's earth wall held up!" Naruko cheered, but her enthusiasm was short-lived as Yuto's eyes widened in realization.
'Wait... this feels wrong. It's too easy, the water prison Jutsu scene hadn't happened yet!' Yuto thought, his Kamigan activating to scan their surroundings. His previous world's memory was fading as he only remembered the important things in the anime. He couldn't just know everything that happened in the anime as there were more than 720 episodes in it.But it was already too late as his eyes widened as he registered the scanning of another jutsu taking place in the Water around Kakashi.
From behind the cover of his own jutsu, Zabuza smirked. The initial attack had been nothing but a diversion. "You fell for it," he muttered under his breath. Using the water still present from his earlier technique, he quickly formed another set of hand signs.
Kakashi's Sharingan spun, trying to anticipate Zabuza's next move, but in a flash, the water from the Great Waterfall Technique coalesced around him, forming a spherical prison. His eyes went wide in surprise as the water enveloped him, solidifying into an unbreakable sphere. "Water Prison Jutsu!" Zabuza declared triumphantly.
The water sphere hovered in the air, with Zabuza's arm extending into it, his hand acting as the anchor that kept the prison intact. Kakashi struggled, trying to move his limbs, but the water pressure was too intense, locking him in place.
"Kakashi-sensei!" Hitomi shouted, panic creeping into her voice. The usually unshakeable Kakashi was now trapped, unable to escape.
Naruko's fists clenched in frustration. "Damn it! We need to do something!" she yelled, looking desperately at her teammates for a plan.
Yuto's mind raced as he analyzed the situation. 'Zabuza is focusing all his chakra on maintaining that water prison. That means... he can't move from that spot as long as he's holding Kakashi-sensei! I need to break his concentration!'
Zabuza, hearing the commotion, turned his gaze toward the trio. "Don't even think about it, brats. You're way out of your league," he taunted, his voice dripping with menace. But deep down, he was slightly impressed. 'They're not panicking like most genin would. Interesting...'
Kakashi, trapped within the sphere, tried to speak, but his voice was muffled by the water. 'Damn it, this is bad. I can't break free from this with just physical strength… I have to trust my students to handle this,' he thought. He didn't want to get his students in danger but it seems like the trio were not gonna listen to him judging by their fierce and determined expression towards zabuza.
Zabuza's gaze shifted from Kakashi to the three young genin standing before him. There was a chilling smile on his lips as he spoke, his voice carrying through the mist like a ghostly whisper. "You kids are strong, I'll give you that," he said, his eyes narrowing in a way that sent shivers down their spines. "But let me ask you something... Are you truly ready to be real ninjas? Do you even know what that means?"
Naruko gritted her teeth, fists clenched at her sides. "What the hell are you talking about, you bastard? We're ready for anything!" she shot back, her fiery spirit refusing to be cowed by his presence.
Zabuza chuckled darkly, shaking his head. "You think being a ninja is all about strength and flashy techniques? You're all just naive children." He tightened his grip on the water sphere, causing Kakashi to wince as the pressure increased. "Let me tell you a story," he continued, his tone dropping to a cold, emotionless drawl. "In my village, Kirigakure, we were trained to be killers from the start. Back then, we had a little thing called the Bloody Mist policy."
Yuto's eyes widened slightly, recognizing the term from the anime he had watched. 'The Bloody Mist…' he thought, focusing on every word Zabuza was saying.
"The final test to become a genin wasn't some simple sparring match," Zabuza continued, his eyes gleaming with a dark nostalgia. "No, we were made to kill our own classmates. Friends? Allies? None of that mattered. If you wanted to survive, you had to become a true weapon, a tool of the village." He paused, letting his words sink in. The oppressive silence was only broken by the occasional drip of water from the surrounding trees.
Hitomi's eyes were wide with horror, and she found herself trembling slightly. 'Killing... their own friends? How could they force children to do that?'
Naruko looked stunned for a moment, then shouted, "That's insane! How could they make kids do something like that?!"
Zabuza's grin widened, his teeth bared like a predator ready to strike. "Heh, that's the reality of being a ninja, little girl. You're just tools, weapons to be used by your village. And you either become strong enough to survive… or you die." He paused, his tone turning even more chilling. "The policy ended only because I slaughtered my entire class... I had no need for their so-called comradeship."
Zabuza's eyes glinted with a cold, merciless light as he stared down the young genin. "This," he began, his voice a low growl that sent chills down their spines, "is the true meaning of being a ninja. To become nothing but an emotionless killer, a weapon for the village to wield. Ninjas don't need attachments like family or friends. You're tools, nothing more." He paused, letting his words sink in before continuing. "You have to do whatever the village commands, even if it means killing your loved ones, betraying your comrades, committing unspeakable acts. Sometimes… even children aren't spared if they stand in the way of your mission."
Hitomi's breath hitched, and Naruko clenched her fists so tightly her knuckles turned white. The weight of Zabuza's words hung heavily in the air, making the mist around them feel even thicker, almost suffocating.
Yuto, however, stood his ground, his eyes burning with defiance. 'I know what he's trying to do... he's trying to shake us, break our resolve,' he thought. 'But I won't let him.'
Zabuza smirked, seeing the uncertainty in the eyes of the two kunoichi. "Look at you, trembling at the thought. You think you're ready to be ninjas? You have no idea what it truly means."
But before Zabuza could continue, Yuto stepped forward, interrupting him. "You're wrong," Yuto declared, his voice steady and unwavering despite the killing intent Zabuza was releasing. "Sure, being a ninja means following orders, even if it's hard. But that's not all there is to it."
Zabuza's eyes narrowed. "Oh? And what would a brat like you know about it?" he sneered.
Yuto's eyes flashed as he quoted the words he had once heard from a man he admired. "Those who break the rules are scum, but those who abandon their friends are worse than scum. To know what is right and choose to ignore it is the act of a coward."
There was a stunned silence, and even the ever-present mist seemed to still. Kakashi's visible eye widened in surprise, recognition flashing across his face. 'Those words...' he thought, recalling that they were the same words he had said to team 7 during their teat. His heart swelled with a mix of pride and nostalgia. 'This kid....'
Zabuza's expression darkened, his eyes narrowing slightly. "Idealistic nonsense," he spat. "In the real world, mercy and friendship will get you killed. Strength is the only thing that matters."
But Yuto didn't back down. "Maybe strength is important, but a true ninja knows when to protect their comrades, even if it means breaking the rules. If you can't understand that, then you're just a mindless killer... not a true ninja."
Hitomi and Naruko, emboldened by Yuto's words, took their positions beside him. Hitomi's Sharingan spun, reflecting her resolve. Naruko's blue eyes were blazing with determination, her fear replaced with a fierce protectiveness. "Yeah, we're not afraid of you!" Naruko shouted. "We'll protect each other no matter what, dattebayo!"
Zabuza's gaze flicked between the three of them, a flicker of something like respect — or perhaps interest — in his eyes before it vanished, replaced by cold malice. "Heh, let's see if your ideals can save you when I crush every last one of you."
