Naruto: A Shinobi's Audacity

This is more fun than serious. Don't expect Enilion-esque writing. That man's something else. I do promise that my writing will be coherent, so that's already better than most of the fanfics on wn. Synopsis: Some random dude is transmigrated into Naruto verse with a non-intrusive system. It's going to be a long grind... Or a rather short one. PS. The system is inspired from the game 'Albion Online'.

'Here I am... Somehow knowing what happened to me. Ending up with a system when there's no concept of it in Elemental Nations.'

He scanned through his stats as thet eacher in the class spoke about the history of the village.

'The only thing I can't increase through effort is luck. Should I test it?

'Hooooooly shit! Talk about being lucky!'

Kenji fought a smile from appearing on his face. With luck on his side, he was going to live through the third war, and the subsequent ones.

'The Uchiha massacre, will I be able to prevent it? Do I even want to prevent it?'

It was bad enough that the reputation of the clan was bad in the eyes of the populace, but the attitude of the Uchiha left a bad taste in Kenji's mouth. 'Save those pricks? I'll let Itachi chop them off.'

The sneer on the class genius was as annoying as ever. Suffice to say, the boy was an Uchiha. A grandson of an Uchiha elder, he had received every resource possible to make him competent.

Kenji did not envy the class genius. Instead, he pitied the boy. The poor kid was going to be made to graduate early and die needlessly while he could've been nurtured into a great shinobi.

'I have a hax of my own. Who needs a sharingan?'

As for the timeline, Hatake Sakumo had killed himself around two years ago. This meant that Hatake Kakashi was around 7 to 8 years old and had already become a chunin.

There were only three years left for Obito to die in the eyes of the nations.

'Damn... the war is on... No fucking way am I leaving this academy any time soon! If you have to resort to sending children to the frontlines, then you're the fucking problem, you weak willed asshole higher ups!'

He took a subtle look around his class and noticed a cute little kid with curly black hair.

'Uchiha Shisui? Huh... Iruka must be around here somewhere. Do I have the skill, observe?'

[Uchiha Shisui

Age: 5

Description: One of the many tragic heroes on the story whose sacrifice was overlooked. A sad end for a very promising life that only wanted good things for his village]

'I didn't need to be reminded of that...'

The Elemental Nations were a grim place. Almost as grim as the real world. Because no matter how imaginative someone was, they could never mimic the absolute cruelty of the real world in their stories.

'And I used to think Game of Thrones was grim. Who else is here?'

[Gekko Hayate

Age: 5]

[Umio Iruka

Age: 5]

'There's the guy. I do remember him being in academy when Obito unleashed Kurama in the village. Huh, what a mediocre life.'

The class was boring and Kenji felt that he already understood what was being taught.

[Increased comprehension of chakra.

The class continued till 3 pm and Kenji walked back to his house. There was a lot he could do to gain power. But, selling his body to Orochimaru for a chance of getting successfully modified was a thought he quashed faster than he'd swat a mosquito to death.

'Physical conditioning and chakra training is the way to go.'

He soon reached his house and directly went to the smithy attached to it where he could hear the hammering on metal. His father, Mimura Hattori was a hard working man. While he wasn't the best in the village, but his products were widely used by the shinobi. What he lacked in talent, he made up for it with experience.

"Dad! I'm home!"

Hattori grunted and continued his work as Kenji took a seat to watch the process.

[Skill acquired: Bladesmith

"Dad, may I try to make a kunai?"

*Grunt* "Eat first, work later."

"Alright~ Moooom!!! I'm home!!"

He had a hearty lunch and chatted animatedly with his parents. In a way, he was compensating for the fact that he had replaced their son. Even though he hated pretending, the smile on their faces was enough to motivate Kenji to keep acting like nothing had happened.

They deserved to live happily.

Although, it did help that Kenji had all the memories of the soul he had replaced.

"Alright, Kenji. You wanted to forge a kunai. Let's go."

"Hattori! Ken is merely five! It's too early for him to enter the forge!"

Kenji merely smiled and said, "It's okay, mom. I want to learn. Dad's always so intense when it comes to making things. I want to see what it's all about. It'll be fun!"

The beaming smile on her son's melted her heart and she snatched him from his seat, crushing him into a motherly hug with a squeal.

Later, the father and son duo went to the forge and Kenji followed Hattori's instructions to the letter. It was fascinating for Kenji as the red hot metal was shaped into a blade by the precise strikes of his hammer.

Hattori was mesmerized by the visible improvement in his son's skill.

As the kunai was quenched, Kenji ground it and polished it into a beautiful specimen of art.

[Kunai

Grade: Rare

Durability: 100%

Base dmg: 40]

Hattori picked up the finished kunai and his eyes widened when he noticed the balance. He looked at his beaming son and was struck with an epiphany. 'My son is a genius.'
