Amanda Jenkins got into the car and looked out the window.
It had been one year, seven months, and sixteen days since she left Brocade City.
It wasn't really a long time, yet it felt as if centuries had passed.
The outside of Brocade City hadn't changed much; everything was so familiar, yet it felt so strange.
Probably because she hadn't seen Lucas Griffin, she thought.
During the twelve and a half hour flight, she had a beautiful dream.
In the dream, the moment she stepped off the plane, she saw Lucas Griffin. He smiled charmingly at her and pulled her tightly into his arms.
Unfortunately, it was just a dream.
As she watched the old scenes outside the car window, past events began replaying in her mind.
After more than a year, was Lucas Griffin doing well?
"Vice President Jenkins," Shelly Berg sitting beside her spoke up, "Are we staying at the Jenkins Family home, or at a hotel?"
"Hotel."
