Kent still wanted to persist, but suddenly remembering the promise he had made with his dad, he obediently nodded, "Okay..."
Amanda Jenkins lifted her hand to caress Kent's cheek, her soft and feeble voice said, "Kent, you must listen to Aunt Derei. You are growing right now; you must sleep well. I am already fine; Kent doesn't need to worry."
Kent nodded firmly, "Mhm! I need to grow up quickly, so nobody can ever bully Amanda Jenkins again!"
"Amanda, does it still hurt?" Kent asked with a furrowed little brow, looking at Amanda with pity.
"It doesn't hurt." Amanda shook her head, "Seeing Kent, there's no more pain anywhere."
"Really?" Kent's lips curved into a slight smile, "Then you should look at me more."
Tears filled Amanda's eyes.
She thanked Heaven for allowing her to return to her son's side.
An hour later, Kent left reluctantly with Jesslyn Derei.
To reassure her son, Amanda kept up a forced smile until they had gone.
