Chapter one (husband & wife)

"You may now kiss the bride," the priest declared, prompting Victor to immediately kiss Elena on the lips. Victor appeared happy on their wedding day, just because he's in front of his parents.

Elena and Victor married not out of their own desires but due to their parents' wishes. They had no choice but to comply.

**On the day of Elena's move to Victor's house, by the way Victor is a CEO with his own company, had a separate residence.**

Victor stood in front of Elena's house, ready to help with the move. When Victor was about to knock, the door opened, revealing Elena with numerous suitcases and boxes.

"I'll take those to the car; you go ahead," Victor said to Elena with blank face.

"Okay," replied Elena.

Elena headed to Victor's car, sitting in the back as she wasn't accustomed to sitting in the front. Victor questioned her placement, insisting she sit in the front to make room for other belongings.

"I'll stay here beside my stuff," Elena insisted.

"Alright, listen, sit in the front, don't be stubborn," Victor said calmly.

"Fine," Elena said with a frown, moving to the front.

After Victor organized Elena's belongings, she got into the car. Despite Victor starting the car, Elena remained sullen, visibly upsetting him.

"Stop frowning," Victor snapped.

Elena nervously fixed her face.

"Have you had breakfast?" Victor asked.

"Not yet," Elena replied fearfully.

"Let's just go through the drive-thru," Victor suggested.

"Okay," Elena said with a trace of irritation, feeling like Victor was getting annoyed with her.

After the drive-thru, they headed straight home.

"Lena, open the gate," Victor ordered Elena.

"Okay, wait," Elena immediately got out of the car and opened the gate for Victor.

Victor unloaded Elena's belongings and brought them into his house. As Elena entered, she was astonished by its size, thinking, 'This is too big for us.'

"Let's hire some maids if you think this house is big for us" Victor suddenly remarked.

"Uh, Victor, you startled me," Elena stammered.

'Can he read my mind?' Elena wondered.

"Whatever you're thinking, just cook already!" Victor shouted, surprising Elena.

"Victor, please don't yell at me," Elena shivered.

"You're overthinking, Elena. Cook unless you want me to send you back to your parents," Victor said irritably.

'Why does he seem different since we arrived at his house?'

'He's scary.'

'But it's scarier to be sent back to my parents.'

These were just a few thoughts running through Elena's mind.

Elena was afraid to return to her parents due to their abusive behavior.
