Break the Chains

"Y-y-you are a devil?" Lucy looked at him with confusion in her eyes as she didn't understand what part of him looked like a devil.

Devils- They were creatures born out of the underworld. They have short dark scales covering their bodies. They had dark red eyes that could install fear into others' hearts.

But they were very rare. Devils weren't actually their enemies. They were kinda chaotic creatures that would pick a fight at any moment.

"Yes, my summoner! I am curious though how a human like you could summon me here and bind me with these chains. Interesting!" Lucifer looked at her as he got closer.

When he walked closer, she panicked and moved back. He looked into her eyes and said.

"Tell me, who are you?"

At this moment, a strange charm got out of his eyes. It was reflected in her eyes but when she heard his question, she just tilted her head and said.

"You want to know my name?"

Lucifer stood there with a stunned expression for a moment.

"My name is Lucy Silva. How exactly are you a devil? I should probably check my Grimoire." Lucy immediately introduced herself as she looked at the Grimoire.

"Hmmm…. I have indeed used a single chance to summon a devil. So, if you are a devil, then does that mean you have transformed into a human right now?"

After inspecting the Grimoire, she looked at him and asked with a curious gaze in her eyes.

"Interesting! You actually didn't speak out of desire. Okay, let me try again." Lucifer once again moved closer to her and looked deep into her eyes.

"Tell me, what is that you truly desire?"

Lucifer stared at her for a moment until she asked.

"What exactly are you trying to do?"

Lucifer took a step back as he stared at her.

"Why? Why isn't my charm working on you? It should've worked. Are you perhaps not a human?" Lucifer once again closed his distance with her and asked.

Lucy didn't get time to move this time. Seeing his handsome face up so close, she felt a strange tingle in her heart. She didn't know how to describe it.

But suddenly she reacted to his words.

"What do you mean by I am not human? I am a perfect human. Just look at me!"

Lucifer glanced at her for a moment before getting back to his position.

"You see, as a lord of the underworld, I bring out the deepest desires of people. This is my charm. But for some reason, you are rejecting it."

Lucy looked at him with confusion, not knowing what to say.

Knock! Knock! Knock!

"Lucy, is there someone? Who are you talking to?" Her aunt's voice rang from outside, freaking her out for a moment.

"Ehh! You need to leave right now. Can you disappear? Can you return to my Grimoire? Can you do anything to disappear?" Lucy immediately pushed Lucifer toward her closet as she whispered.

"Why are you hiding me? I am your summon." Lucifer asked but didn't fight back against her Will.

"Because you are handsome." Lucy closed the closet as she replied.

When she turned around, her face was burning red. She quickly took some deep breaths and opened the door.

"Aunt, why are you here?" Lucy asked with a smile on her face.

"I am here because I heard a male voice. Did you bring someone here?" Mary asked as she looked around the room. When she didn't see anyone, her eyes instantly moved to the closet. But Lucy stood in front of her and said.

"I was just trying to speak like a man. I thought if I could make a voice like a man, I could participate in the upcoming tournament and show my strength."

Hearing her words, Mary looked at her for a moment and sighed. She pulled Lucy into her embrace and spoke.

"Silly girl, even if you try everything, they won't listen. Yes, in the beginning, it was our weakness. None of the women from the past could make a name for themselves which resulted in our suppression."

"But now, it is no longer about that weakness. It is about their pride. Even if you show off your strength, they won't accept it. Your mother had to leave because of what they did."

"Your father followed your mother instead of staying in this house. You can also leave but don't try to go against them. You don't have that strength and I'm afraid."

At this moment, a slight bit of tears appeared in her eyes as she fondles Lucy's hair.

"I'm afraid something will happen to you."

Hearing her voice, Lucy felt complicated. She nodded and said "Alright, aunt! I won't do it."

Mary slowly pushed her out of the embrace and said "That's good! Don't worry, I am working on it. You are special, Lucy. You shouldn't be trapped here."

"I will definitely find a way to help you leave. Until then, don't try to go against the family's rules."

Hearing her words, Lucy nodded as her eyes also turned red. She couldn't help but embrace her aunt once again. After a while, her aunt finally left the room.

Creek!

"It seems like you are living in Patriarchal Family."

"Shhh! Don't speak, just whisper!" Lucy asked him to lower his voice as she locked the door.

Lucifer smiled as he looked at her. At this moment, few words resounded in his head.

'You are special.'

When those words appeared in his head, he thought 'I know she is special. No human being should be able to reject my charm. Then, what is she?'

"Can you not stare for so long?" Lucy rolled her eyes and whispered.

"Why? Are afraid of falling in love with me? You don't have to worry. There is basically no woman in this world who can resist my charm. So, you wouldn't be the first to ask me for sex just after seeing me." Lucifer smiled devilishly as he whispered.

"You dream. I am not going to fall in love with a devil, much less have sex." Lucy rolled her eyes and sat down on her mat. She closed her eyes as she focused on her Grimoire.

"What are you doing? What kind of book is this? How can it produce the chains to bind me with you?" Lucifer sat down next to her and curiously asked her questions.

"I am trying to find if I can unlock normal spells from my Grimoire. This book is called Grimoire. It contains hundreds of ancient spells that a mage can use whenever they want to."

"Almost every mage has a different Grimoire even if they awaken the similar magic. My magic is Summoning as it is written on the Grimoire. And, the reason I was able to summon you was because of its first spell."

"This spell allows me to form the connection with the underworld and use my mana to condense those chains. With those chains, you can't kill me and I can command you. But once I die, those chains will break and you will be free." Lucy said.

"Command me?" Lucifer look at her with a mocking smile as he asked.

"Miss Lucy, there is no one in this world who can command me. No one in hell, no one in heaven."

When he said those words, there was a trace of anger hidden in it.

Lucy didn't notice it though. She looked at him and said.

"Stand up!"

At this moment, Lucifer who seemed to be rejecting this commander very much suddenly stood up. There was a blank expression on his face when he did that.

"H—how can you control me? What kind of sorcery is this? Not even Alright God can control me. Th..." At this moment, Lucifer's voice got loud when he said that.

Lucy instantly put her hand on his lips and said.

"Didn't I tell you to keep your voice low? And, the reason why I can control you is that you are not at your full power. The stronger I get, the more power you can use."

Lucifer looked at her with a strange gaze. He looked at an invisible chain that only he and she could see. He put his hand on the chain and the next moment, he tore the chain.

"Sorry dear, even if you are a special woman. There is no one between heaven and earth who is allowed to control me."

Lucifer smiled as he replied. Although behind his smile, he hid terrible anger. But just when he spoke to her, Lucy's eyes turned blank and her heartbeat stopped as she fell to the ground.
