Finally reaching the second floor, James could immediately feel a different. It was like the pressure in the air was higher. He knew this to be a rise in the ambient mana. It was fairly common for this to occur and often times when someone reached a high enough level, it was impossible for them to remain on the surface for long periods of time anymore. This was due to their bodies surpassing the human limit and requiring more mana to function.
James immediately set out to explore his new environment and it didn't take him long to come across a skeleton. This skeleton was equipped with a weapon, but it wasn't something that James would be willing to use. It was a broken long sword that was covered in rust. Regardless, James did his usual routine and went about killing it.
[+5 exp acquired]
It was nice to know that he was going to get more exp, but it would still require ten more of these to level up. He still wasn't going to give up on the floor yet so he finished his latest meal and moved on. It didn't take long for him to find a skeleton with an intact short sword. He quickly finished off the skeleton to include its bones before taking up his new weapon.
'Now that I have a functional weapon I should try to get the proficiency for it.' James thought to himself before beginning to swing his new weapon.
Proficiencies could be gained from training with weapons. The more you train, the better you could use one and it would unlock new skills in the skill tab. James had the added benefit of an immortal body that ever gets tired. If he could train enough to get a class then that would benefit him the most as having a class provided stat points than not having one.
After about a hundred swings, James acquired the proficiency he was after.
[Requirements met. Sword mastery (Lvl 1) gained]
Now that he had the skill, it was time to go back on the hunt and he was more deadly than ever.
