This scream became my salvation. I knew the moment I heard it, Boo regained some clarity of her mind.
(At least I hope so.)
My blindness lasted for couple of additional seconds before green grass appeared in my vision and like I expected, Mr. Fluffy's remains weren't in their original position.
Relief washed over me, but it also let adreanaline leave my body. I immediately felt pain in my left leg and sorrnes from overuse of mana accelerated even more. Now I hardly could move a finger, without feeling like my muscles are about to tore apart.
I tried to turn to my side, but while doing so I fell down on my back and the only thing I could turn now was my head which pretty much did it on its own.
I got a wet feeling on my left cheek and knew exactly what it was. (My blood.)
I wondered how long will it took before I bleed out. With the way it's now I suspected it won't be long.
While laying on my back and with my head turned left. I saw a scene that made me smile, regardless of my current state.
I saw Mr. Fluffy hopping around Boo's legs and her disbelief after seeing him. She looked like she woke up from a bad dream, finally realizing nothing bad ever happened.
After doing two rounds around Boo, Mr. Fluffy hopped up to her leg and rubbed himself on it. This in turn let Boo feel his soft fur on her skin, which worked as a alarm that woke her up.
"Mr. Fluffy? It's really you?" I could hear faint, but loud enough Boo's dazed voice. She wasn't sure if Mr. Fluffy was real.
To make sure he really was alive, Boo gone down on her knees and carefully reached her hand out to pet him. It looked like she was scared of her minds playing tricks on her.
It took some time before she found courage to finally lay her hand on his back, but when she did, tears run down her cheeks and her lips showed a bright smile.
"It's really you. Mr. Fluffy, you don't know how much I missed you. Those monsters...They. They took you away."
I saw how Boo picked Mr. Fluffy up and put him close to her chest. He found a place in her arms and she hugged him tightly. (This scene would be perfect if not for the blood, which now was present on both of their bodies.)
While looking at them I felt how fatigued I was getting and how my smile slowly disappeared from my face. (Why am I getting dizzy?)
World around me started spinning in circles, even Boo moved like she was on a roller coaster.
My eyelids become heavy and soon started closing themselves. The last thing I remember was a silhouette light up by the sun heading in my direction, and a rabbit following it suit.
"Alexan..." I thought I heard my name, but before that person could finish it, I passed out.
"How was the trip?" I regained my senses, to hear a laughter I easily recognized.
"Good. How about yours? Any burns from the storm you experienced on the way?" I opened my eyes to see my demon sitting on a stone throne in front on me.
"I got a few, but it was worth it for the tan I have." He pulled up his sleeve and showed me a black spot on his forearm. It laid next to his tanned skin.
"Indeed. It suits you." I grinned at the damage I done to him when we meet the last time.
"You don't seem surprised to see me. Why is that?" He tilted his head to the side and showed me his bright, white teeth.
I shock my head and replied. "It's not easy to get rid of your demons. If that's what you really are."
I focused my eyes on his face and it seemed like I wanted to pierce through it.
"Oh, did you figure something out? Or maybe you try to put yourself in the position of power by pretending to know my origin?" He put his head straight and gave me the same gaze I had on him.
"You seem to know me well and that itself tells a lot more that you think." I narrowed my eyes.
Instead of replying to me, he pull up his other sleeve and checked the time on his watch.
"What are you doing?" I wasn't sure why he would do that, but I soon learned the answer when he showed me what was on the watch.
I saw red letters, which read 'Time's Over'.
After reading them, I immediately got dizzy and heard him say. "A shame. Our conversation was cut short just when it got interesting."
I wanted to have the last word, but my consciousness didn't let me. The only thing I could mutter was "I will...."
This is when my eyelids closed themselves again and the next time they opened, I noticed a rabbit sitting on my chest.
"Mr. Fluffy. Is that you?" I asked him this question, but he ignored it completely. Instead he jumped onto my face, kicking me in the process.
"You little! Where is your gratitude for bringing you back to life? I raised my upper body, turning in his direction.
There he sat on the grass and eat the parts of it that didn't got covered by my blood. It looked like he was disgusted to touch anything that belonged to me. "Come here! I will teach you the lesson you deserve!"
I throwed myself at him, caughting him by the neck. With him in my palm, I stood up and moved my hand so he will be in front of my face.
"What's now, Mr. Fluffy? Ready to face the consequences of your actions?" I showed him a devilish smirk, which made him shake in fright.
"That's right. You know what's coming, don't you?" I said those words with pure pleasure, but I suddenly realized something. My body wasn't sore, I felt no pain whatsoever.
Surprised, I looked at my left leg, which previously had a chunk of its missing. I saw a bandage like vine wrapped around it, preventing me from seeing the injury itself.
While contemplating how it got there, I noticed that this vine had a similar appearance to the ones Boo attacked me with. The only difference between them, was lack of spikes.
"Alexander, why are you holding Mr. Fluffy? You're scaring him." I heard a sweet, innocent voice to my right and I knew right away who it belonged to.
I looked at the owner of this voice, not sure how to respond. I knew that saying 'I wanted to teach him a lesson for kicking me' wouldn't be a good excuse to go with.
While I hesitated how to answer, I let my grip loosen. Mr. Fluffy used this opportunity to free himself from my palm, by bouncing off my face. (That's it! He kicked me again.)
I marched at him, but Mr. Fluffy was a smart opponent, as he hid behind Boo. (Unfortunately for you I saw how it would end if I followed the usual pattern.)
I didn't make the mistake most of MCs in anime does. Going through Boo was impossible and could potentially turn out to be bad for me.
Instead I made a pin sized spike under Mr. Fluffy's butt.
I made sure this little sting won't hurt him. I maybe wanted to teach him a lesson, but in the end, he didn't do anything that was worthy hurting him over.
*Squeal*
"Mr. Fluffy, what's wrong?" Concerned Boo didn't even bat an eye before taking Mr. Fluffy into her arms and seeing what had hurt him.
He pointed at me and started growling, as if saying 'He hurt me'. Too bad for him, I made sure there was no evidence of my crime.
I smirked at him momentarily and changed my look, to the one of concern. "What happened, Mr. Fluffy? Did you sit on something sharp?"
My question picked Boo's interest and she said. "Do you think that's what happened?"
"Yes, Boo. What else could it be? It's not like a spike grow out of nowhere. It's not realistic."
Thankfully for me, Boo was innocent and quite gualible.
After hearing my sentence, she nodded and petted Mr. Fluffy on his back. "Don't worry, Mr. Fluffy. Incidents happens and I will heal you everytime you encounter one."
She happily continued petting him, when I saw a string of green energy emitting from her hand. It took a shape of vine and moved to the place I pricked Mr. Fluffy on.
After arriving there, it lingered on that place for a moment before finally returning to Boo's hand.
"Was that magic?" I decided to inquire about the energy used by Boo .
"Yes. I used it to heal Mr. Fluffy's injury." She seemed proud of what she done and I couldn't help, but feel the same.
With a smile not leaving my face, I pointed at my left leg and asked. "Did you heal my leg too, Boo?"
"I did." She replied to me and started swaying to the sides, showing how happy she got by helping others.
