My Sad Happiness

"But... but....", tears were boundless and were continuously flowing from her eyes..."My daughter.... why..? Why is fate so cruel? What did I ever do? Sniff.... sniff..."

"Calm..Calm down Emi.... Don't cry.... Take some rest ....."

"How will I? I'm not sure in what state she might be!!!? How can I be calm....?" and then suddenly the man injects something inside her and she immediately falls asleep!

"Alas... What can we do Emi? We can't defy fate...!! But.... I will try my best to find your daughter... to find Tia!" And while saying this he asked the car driver to start the car. The car driver started the car engine and drove them away...

They were at the orphanage where Tia was admitted! Then how were they unable to meet her? They met every single child but couldn't meet Tia! Why so? Well if you all remember, I had mentioned saying that she had lost her consciousness for nearly 30 minutes.... and it was during that time that her mother ,Emika, had visited the orphanage! She came with the reason of donating some money but actually wanted to find Tia.... Well that's what had happened! Now back to our story...

Now Tia was tired.... and she fell asleep....after hugging Nini.... Nini too was tired, she ate some and then she too fell asleep....

In Tia's dreams....

"Whe-where am I? It's so white here...." Everything around her was white.... Tia was a bit scared as she wasn't able to understand anything that was happenenig! She looked all around her and could find nothing other than whiteness. Her body started shivering, maybe because of fear but she was still thinkng and trying relate the scene.

And then suddenly, she felt a warmth. A warmth which she always longed for, a warmth which was long lost, a warmth that made her cry, wrapped her surroundings and made her feel comfortable. She said,"Mamma.... Mamma...."

And at the same time Emika was also having a dream, where she too was surrounded with complete whiteness.

She was frightened at first but then this same feeling which Tia felt made her regain her strength. "This feeling... Tia? Tia is that you? Tia.. TIA!!!" And then suddenly she heard, "Mamma.... Mamma...."

The word made her mesmerize and the soft voice which was calling out to her made her cry. Her tears opened their gates and started flowing again. The difference was she was happy now and the tears were that of happiness!

She smiled and yet again cried. Then she lifted her right hand to try to reach out the source from which these sweet words emerged. But as soon as she lifted, she heard another voice.

"Emii... Emii! Wake up! Dinner is ready!"

She faintly regained her consciousness. Then she heard again, "Emii are you awake yet? Come downstairs, quick!!"

"Ye- Yes! I'm coming." She answered him without even realizing anything that was occuring. It was as if she was empty from the inside.

She couldn't remember her dream too, and without even trying to recall it, she moved to the washroom and got freshened up and moved downstairs....

Erwin, Emika's blood related brother, was surprised on seeing Emika.

"Emii... you....", was what he said the moment he saw her.

"What;'s the matter brother? Is something wrong?"

"No, it's just that... you are smiling, are you happy?"

"Oh! I guess... I am happy..." was what she answered vaguely... However the true answer to that question was what she answered in her mind. She said,"Yes I am happy but.... this is my sad happiness..."

And at the same time in the orphanage it was evening and in the evening foods were supposed to be given to the orphans... Nini woke up before Tia as she was uncomfortable sleeping on the torn bed, after all it had been only 1 year since she was here. She heard the bell ring, which marked the beginning of food distribution. Hence she woke Tia and said,"Tia... we need to get food now or else we will starve today again."

Tia heard her loud and clear and then woke up from her sleep. But the look that she had on her face, that look Nini saw for the first time ever since she had come here.

"Did you have some funny dream, Tia?", was what she asked after seeing Tia smile.

"Funny? What do you mean?" was Tia's reply as she didn't understand what Nini meant.

"Well, you looked happy, that's why I asked."

"Happy? I guess I am.... But this is My Sad Happiness!"

"Sad? What do you...." And even before Nini could complete saying anything, Tia interrupted and said,"Let's go or else we won't get anything to eat tonight!"

"Okay, let's go!"

And then they both went and while they went downstairs, Tia thought,"Yes Nini.... This is My Sad Happiness...."
